My Sesame-challenged 5yo thought it was a funny pencil-head puppet. My kids get a kick out of Euty's pics and want me to check the latest for them. Their favorite is Euty-Baron and the Beef-lobbying turkey. "Bye-bye Mr. Anakin guy; Maybe Vader someday later now he's just a small fry. He left his home and kissed his mommy good-bye, Sayin 'Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi'..." - W.A.Y.

(he never liked Big Bird anyway) Ernie - It's better than roasted rubber duckie. Rebecca (5) A is for apple, B is for buddy, C is for cannibal... Jeremy, Rachel... speak to me!

Probably because he was a Presbyterian (Reformed?) minister. I heard that abused children particularly loved him, it's obvious why.

I just liked how he tossed his shoes to the other hand every time... loved the Trolley, and when he went out back to the sand table. Though Lady Elaine and her spinning museum of vertigo gave me the willies. Couldn't stand it when he'd pull down the "fake" toys from off the fridge and go into the neighborhood of makebelieve that way. The Neighborhood of Makebelieve was THROUGH THE TROLLY TUNNEL, TO THE RIGHT. Liked Picture Picture... Liked the stop light. Liked Mr. McFeely too-- and no, I didn't see Brokeback Mountain.

I don't see how Presbyterian (Reformed?) fits, but as far as abused kids liking him -- he's safe. He was calm. Non-judgmental, and jokes (were there any?) were safe and clean, didn't poke fun at anything. If there was one way to decribe him, it was safe. Non-offensive, unless you're the type of person who found the show bland enough to seem offensive to you. I know very few people who feel that way.

Especially Picture Picture and the shoe-toss. King Friday bothered me,though. His and LE's cheeks were too prominant and red. But the Meow kittie was so cute! I think the lyrics in "It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a neighborly day in the beauty, would you be mine..." are clever the same way "If ever a wonderful whiz there was, the Wizard of Oz is one because" lyrics are.

I get it now, I didn't know Reformed could feel abused, too. Edited for sarcasm.

By the way, Andrea... speaking of fishing for abuse... I'm starting up lectio divina gatherings for the youth at my frozen chosen presby church next month... complete with candles, frankincense, and an indoor fountain for atmosphere... should drive the bluehairs batty with fret...
