I'm not following... because he was Presbyterian and so abuse is something he could relate to?

That was the way it struck me. It gave me a good chuckle when I read it that way.

By the way, Andrea... speaking of fishing for abuse... I'm starting up lectio divina gatherings for the youth at my frozen chosen presby church next month... complete with candles, frankincense, and an indoor fountain for atmosphere... should drive the bluehairs batty with fret...

That should really warm things up. Just as long as they know those things are just for atmosphere and aren't holy or anything, then maybe they'll tolerate it. If not, I know a good...

I think I'll just show the older kids Euty's latest. Reminds me of an icon of John the Baptist that's not usually displayed so prominantly in Church.

In 10 years my dad will have a nice looking horseshoe, though not without a fight if my mom has anything to say about it.

LOL! Nope!

That's an early render of a 3d city scene I created for a school project. It was a neat view and I decided to save it and use it as an avatar.

full size, uncropped version
Full version of the island (2Mb, but worth the wait)
Another view

The tall building on the left is the new tower my university campus will be housed in, and the curved entrance thing next to it is part of the mall that the university is attached to.

There's a scene in Zoolander (we had to eventually turn it off as we were having to fast-forward too many scenes) where Ben Stiller walks up to a complex model of a building that he'd commissioned, gets a disgusted look, and angrily knocks it off the table, yelling, "It's too small!". As if people could fit in there.

Elevators? 34 floors, university is on the 5, 6, 7 (?), and 14th floors. Possibly the 13th and 15th -- I'm not sure. Going from floors 1-6 will have your stomach on the floor, or from 14 to 8 your heart is in your mouth and then by your bowels.

lol... I have friends saying how funny Zoolander is and making a lot of seemingly random and stupid statements from it (that without knowing context, are rude)... and the movie trailer says enough for me.

There is only so much room in one lifetime for dumb movies. Dumb & Dumber and Rat Race took up all the space I have in this life for dumb movies. The remaining semi-dumb movie space is taken up by Lethal Weapon and Jackie Chan films. This means no Napoleon for me either. I would be overdrawn if I watched Napoleon, Zoolander, or any of Wayne's World.

Toooooootally dude.

I agree with your whole post EXCEPT about Napoleon Dynamite. It's not stupid (IMO), it's profound and sweet. We even got the T-shirts.

If I go missing for awhile, it's only because I'm enjoying something...

Dad and I went half'ers on a new TV!!!!

Toshiba 44" DLP HDTV was massively on sale, apparently a lot of people have been buying them. Amazing deal. We've never been able to afford anything like this, but together we have enough that we can pull it off. It's amazing. Several years ago I never thought we'd be able to get a big screen.

Several months ago, a big sale also caught my eye, and I managed to get a 600W surround sound system (home theater in a box) for $100CDN.

Part of a dream come true. Now I just want a car, someone of the female gender to stick with me forever, and to follow out the rest of my sig.

Welcome Tbone,

How's the weather in Michigan?

Nice spring day here in Texas after some much needed, cleansing rain.

I saw that... it really was a hoot!

The tag line was "Improve your English"... it was a Berlitz advertisement. Really good.

Definitely good.
