But I think this hits the nail on the head.

I've already picked on Euty enough.

And you got the impression I'M sane from where?

I hate the fact that since I'm self-employed, I NEVER get anything back. EVER. And I don't send Uncle a check even TEN seconds before I have to!

Yes, pretty much, Euty. It's been fairly controversial. Looks like your post count is doing quite well. Most everyone has gotten a few points from me, which is probably why my post count is so high. lol I even give points to people that disagree with me, if they are polite.

Of course you know that means you are doing it exactly right (exacter righter would be no refund AND not writing a check, depending on how hard it is to write that check).

Though it's fun to get the "surprise money" at the end of the year, the larger the refund is, the larger the amount of interest that you didn't earn yourself. When you write a check at the end, that means that's even more interest you made that year.

... which of course you give directly to the church... I know I'm speaking to the choir

Euty, you're just old and bald.

Speaking of which I Xrayed my knee this week, and I have floaties in the joint space, and bone thingies growing off my knee cap. It was quite fascinating.

Rogaine's not working either-- not that I've actually tried it, but call it intuition.

Theojunkie,
Ou! Have you tried using glucosimine for a few months to see if it helps?

Haven't tried it... I'm not against it. My problem is I can't for the life of me remember to take pills.

But also, glucosamine is mostly is a joint fluid/cartilage support, and so (in my infinite wisdom of self diagnosis) I don't think it will help all that much. I think the issue is bone spurs associated with my quadraceps tendon (which runs through the kneecap to the shin bone-- and the new bone on the Xray is lined up with it). The symptoms go along with that, in that its only when I put stress through the knee cap (doesn't feel like it's "deeper").

Things aren't so very bad-- stairs are less than appealing and standing up after sitting a while is interesting, but walking isn't a problem.

I'm just complaining about getting up there in age-- mentally I don't feel as old as I feel

You know what... this "threaded thread" business is really confusing-- I'm used to simply replying to a thread, with out post titles.

I'll reply to what I thought was NTFT, and suddently the page displays that I'm in "Theo House >> RE: RE: Witnessing" or something.

Does anyone know-- if you have it in "flat display" mode, does that simply put all the posts in chronological order, regardless of sub-thread? Am I missing posts if I'm not diving down all the rabbit holes?

Gack! I suppose I'll just go with the flow...

Morning, John!

Me, I just noticed the constantly changing thread titles sometime in the last 24 hours.....confusing! But I'm SUBBED to this, so at least my little Mac knows where I am, even if I don't, ya know?

Think I'm going to make myself a real breakfast this morning......sausage and eggs, anyone?

Well, I hope you get improvement for your knees, John.
These forums are still a bit confusing, but it won't take long before we get the hang of it. Have you been to the FAQ section? That might help some.

Is there a way to return to the spot you were in when you last visited a thread? I keep having to go to the last page and backup to a place I recognize, then try to get caught up.

Euty, there are supposed to be green arrows on the left side of the screen when you are looking at the list of threads, when there have been posts since you last went there. You are supposed to be able to click on that arrow, and have it take you to your next unread post. You are also supposed to see a yellow page icon when you have new posts in a thread you are reading.

I haven't had either since we moved to the new format, although others do......it's a known bug. But hopefully, you don't have it!

Subscribe to the thread. Go to my forums. You will see the threads that you are subscribed to. If there is a new post, there will be a green arrow to the left side of the page, just before the title of the thread. Click on the green arrow and it should take you to the first post, since your last visit. If you click on the title, it will take you to the beginning of the thread.

Cynthia, you must be incredibly helpful to have a higher score than number of posts! (I just bumped you & Darcy 2 more.)
