I took my sock off tonight and the toe is three times normal size and even the nail is black and blue! Looks like it'll fall off!

And then...

I was fixing the front gate and had the thing smash down on my finger! Have a dime sized blood blister in the fleshy part of my index finger. Left hand and it is difficult to type without it.

But at least now I know how Karlie must make all those typos of hers!

OUCH!!

Hey Benny, you're supposed to be taking CARE of yourself, not beating yourself into a pulp!

Okay, fixing the gate didn't deserve any punishment. I'm sorry. Maybe you need some nice bubble wrap for Chistmas?

G'night, ya'll! It's 9:00 and the baby is sleeping. I might actually get a few hours in before she wakes up again.

Can we wake the baby and make her wake you? That might be punishment....

Hope she sleeps well. For your sake.

One more post...

I'm telling ya, running in the house is ALWAYS a bad thing. I don't care who tells you to. BTW, that is my boys' biggest argument when they are in trouble...so and so told me to. It won't work on me.

G'night Donna.

Nope, having fun with the family is not punishment material.

Thank you Trish.

to Donna.
Let the boys be boys, and if they break something, at least hope it isn't expensive!

I think it's cool you were playing tag with Kayla, Ben! More dads and grandpas should be doing fun things with their kids/grandkids. I'm sorry you got hurt in the process. I can't imagine the pain you must be in with that and then to add insult to injury with the hammer. OUCH! {{{{Ben}}}}

Ben!! For heaven's sake! Now you have me worried about what the next injury is going to be when I come back in here. You know what they say about things happening in 3s!! Have you got a helmet you could wear for the next few days? Seriously though Ben, I'm sorry to hear about your finger now too. Boy I don't like how that toe sounds though. I hope you are putting it up when you can. Do you have any Epson salts? Another thing I have done is sit on the edge of the bath tub and then turn on the facet and let warm water run on my foot after being on it all day.

OUCH!!!! Okay Ben, you'll need to be placed in isolation until your injuries heal...we don't want anything else on you to be injured!

Even I am now thinking that the funny farm with the nice white long sleeved jackets might be a safe diversion!

Speaking about heavy machinery, I have now picked up how to use the brake pedal with my left foot again.

I wore my slippers in today. Have the hiking boots if I need them.

Thanks for your concern. Even you Donna.

Hmmm . . . bubble wrap and a helmet.
Stick with us Ben . . . we'll get ya all fixed up.

The visual I'm getting is quite avatar-worthy. . . . Oh, Sharon???

I'm truly sorry about the injuries; they're no fun at all.

And, Donna, I'm sorry sweet lady, but I'm gonna hafta side with Ben here . . . afterall, he was playing with his precious grandbaby and his wife. That's great family no matter how ya look at it.

Can ya tell, I've never raised any children . . . shoot, I've even ran in the house . . . CS and I use to start water guns fight with each other; they usually originated when one of us (the victim) was in the shower - and the perpetrator wasn't. Now, you've got running in the house, shooting water everywhere and nakedness!! (OK, maybe that was TMI ).

I still run in the house! Misty and I will play all kinds of games with each other.

{{{Ben}}} - here's praying for an injury-free day today!

Eric and I don't run in the house .... at least not more than a quick spurt to get to a safe and grounded piece of furniture on which to tickle each other. There just isn't any room for running. However, I believe if we had room, we would run.

And yes, very avatar worthy picture in my mind to Shar-Mar.

Hey Ben, Are your slippers, BUNNY SLIPPERS? Oooh, that would be a riot at work!! LOL!!

Yes, Sharon-Marie I have some visuals now, and not just about Ben!! LOL!! Our house is so small there really isn't room to "run". For the cats maybe and it is pretty funny when they go from carpeting in a run then hit the vinyl flooring and then go skidding into the cupboards...BAM!

I lifted you all in prayer this morning. I dropped Jeff off at work and decided to drive on out to our Lakeside Park and drive slowly through. It is our first really grey, drizzly, most leaves down, November day here and I wanted to see the lake kind of rough looking. There were groups of geese sitting out there bobbing up and down. I was like the only car going through and there were city workers here and there setting up the holiday lights and displays that will be turned on next Friday. The lagoons in the park are very high. More geese all over the lawns. There was a loneliness about it all on the one hand and yet...A day like today puts me in quite a contemplative mood and I couldn't help but equate it all to life in general. It's "seasons". As I came out of the park and headed towards home, I really was reminded, even in the gloominess, of the hope, the love, the promises and anticipations, because of Christ's coming, how important we are to Him and how important we are in all of it, to each other. I prayed for you all today, and was so very thankful to believe with assurance that He heard me. I pulled in my driveway, got out and walked through the misting and into the house, and guess what I saw through my kitchen window as I continued in thought? My first of the season, beautiful red Cardinal sitting in the bare grey bush in my backyard.

So now I'm on with my day. May your's have many moments of blessings, and may you all be blessings to someone else around you. You sure are to me.
