Ok I'll try. I've always been taught that Israel will have a seperate salvation and we're always to support Israel because "God says so" and the scripture that's used is "i will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you." Anyways, That's not at all what's being taught in our new church in fact it's just the opposite. Believers are ingrafted into the branch and have now become Israel hence "all Israeal will be saved, Rom." Am I understanding this correctly and hopefull I've conveyed my thoughts properly. God knows I try.

Yup i well know that teaching.

What i ask is how much blood is needed to be a Jew? If you are just a touch Jewish are you then save by that human blood from your mother? What does that say to the Blood of Christ?

A few years back i got sorta 'in trouble' here for my view point seems maybe they have relaxed a bit.

As a nation we (USA) should support Israel just as we have Kuwait.

As a people of God?

1Jn 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
1Jn 2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

I do NOT say a person of Jewish blood can not be saved.

Don't you have to have some money left over after bills and food in order to invest?

That's a very sobering thought.

But if He did, though, I'm afraid that it would only be given to Him posthumously. The world hasn't improved any in its attitude to the real Jesus.

Does anyone have a scripture stating that there is different salvation then the Blood of Jesus?

To be this is NOT replacement theology but the simple continuing of His chosen people.

I think he is saying that if Jesus came to earth again as He did the first time, we would kill him again.

It's not possible, because He is alive eternally. But it's an interesting and revealing "what if".

We would most certainly kill Him if it was ordained by God . It is crazy to think that God sacrificed His own Son for me, how humbling.

I know I menitoned something about this earlier, but going through Acts from a Reformed view without the focus on tongues and other false teachings in so great. I'm grasping so much of the real history of the church .

As I was learning about reformed church history...I was amazed at the articles, creeds, etc. that people took pot-shots at and how each of them were in response to heresy or near-heresy within the church.

I dunno...for me, that was kinda cool to learn.

I haven't read John Piper's Desiring God, but I just read an article on "Christian Hedonism" that seems to be a mental exercise to contrast worldly philosophy with real Christianity. I personally feel it could be summed up with one verse, Psalm 37:4, "Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart."

If you have some time, read through it and let me know what you think.

I read the book. From what I recall, Piper defined Christian Hedonism as "God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him."

Piper can be a little wordy for me, but Desiring God is well done.

I remember when his book came out about this and there was much contraverys about it. I think the word 'hedonism" was bothersome. Am I remembering correctly?

John, where have you been?

Reformed Group Bible Study Q & A - 11/6/2009 2:28:21 PM

A group of people including myself are looking to do an online group bible study. My goal is to find a web site with an easy to understand "Question & Answer" bible study that we can use. We will be doing this group study for about 1 hour.

- The study should be from a reformed background, not Arminianist.
- Good use of systematic theology
- Questions with answers provided
- We may need this material to go through chapter and verse from Gen-Rev. Or at least by chapter.

That is all that I can think of for now. I am not sure if I am even posting in the right area.

Thank you,
Limulus

The questions on this page look about right, but they don't have the answers (aside from the scriptural references). Also, their site doesn't appear to cover the entire bible, unless I overlooked it.

I've read most of the book--can't say all of it, because there were times when I skipped sections where I felt he had made his point already.

I didn't like the term hedonism. I had other thoughts about the book, but I can't remember them all now. Of course, I love that everything is for God's glory and that is entirely Scriptural, so I didn't have any real problems with that concept.

I'm interested in the article Euty--will try to read it tomorrow when my brain is awake.
