Spinal Tap was supposed to be bad. A third rate documentary director covering a third rate band.

Well, of course, which is why it puts it as one of the worst movies. Not to mention the fact that the band was fictional too.

Ohh, I see how you meant it: The worseness of it makes it enjoyable.

There were so many bad ones, but I think "Pearl Harbor" takes the cake.
I think many of these supposed mega movies should be satirized on some show similar to Mystery Science Theater 3000. I think many of the B movies, including any Ed Wood movie, are far more entertaining than many of these supposed blockbusters.

Someone needs to show one of these mega disasters on TV, plop a couple of robot silhouettes at the bottom of the screen, and let them have a go at all these cornball lines ("You must be Doc Holliday!", "That's the rumah!", etc.).

I would say that "Dumb and Dumberer" was pretty bad. The first one was so great and then they had to ruin it by making the second one without Jim Carey or Jeff Daniels in it.

I would have to say there are several that top the list for me. . .

"Dude Where's My Car"
"Saving Silverman"
and all of the "American Pie" movies.

Nothing but pure garbage! I did not finish watching any of them! Actually I didn't even start watching the sequals to "American Pie", the first 10 minutes of the first one were bad enough.

Romeo and Juliet w/ Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes.

Man on Fire -- 1980's version

Although I havent seen it(and never will), the 3D remake of Night of the Living Dead is supposedly really bad.

Another awful movie: "Cider House Rules".

I thought that was a pretty good movie. It certainly raised some questions about some topics.

Gone With the Wind and the remake of Yours, Mine and Ours and the '90s version of Titanic.

I'll agree with you on Titanic, Roberta, but not on the other two. Granted that Dennis and Rene couldn't pull off the chemistry of Henry and Lucy, but the movie wasn't that bad. And Gone With The Wind? Come on, girl! It's one of the greatest movies of all time, not the worst.
In fact, GWTW is one the few movies that critics can all agree on. They may differ on where it belongs in the Top 10, but never on the fact that it blongs there.

GWTW is a great movie for me to watch if I to sleep. Too long and drawn out.

The breakup was really bad b/c it had a very unfulfilling ending. You get to spend a whole hour and a half of your life watching two people fight just to realize that they aren't even getting back together, or if they are you don't know. It's just left to the imagination but I didn't like that.

Ewww! I fully agree! The Breakup was bad! My wife and I rented this thinking it would be a great date night movie... wrong! All they do is fight, and bicker, and fight! The ending didn't help at all, we evening tried the alternate ending... nope! The mood of the movie gets you too, we nagged at each other before we went to sleep, and after a restless night, the mood caused us to nag at each other the next morning!

That reminds me of "The War of the Roses". Yuck.

I thought The Break Up was a really good film. (Not 'the worst movie ever' by far) The poor movie was marketed wrongly as a romantic-comedy, because it's really more of a drama, and a semi-realistic one at that.

I sort of think GWTW would have been better if it just ended at what I think is the 1/2way point, the scene where Scarlett is standing by the tree vowing that she will never be hungry again even if she has to beg or whatever she says there. (It has been a while since I watched this whole movie, though.) Better yet is "Went With the Wind" - the Carol Burnett version of GWTW! Hilarious! I would much rather watch that than GWTW.

I may be the only non-Amish American over the age of 20 who has not seen Titanic. I don't know if I even realized there was a remake of Yours, Mine, and Ours. I hate it when they remake good movies, though. I think they should take the dud movies and remake them so that they are good. I think sometimes there is a basic part of the dud movies that is really not that bad but they just need some re-vamping to be really good.

moulin rouge
it had a decent soundtrack but the movie was terible

I LOVED MOULIN ROUGE!!!!! I paid to see it eight times and had to buy it on DVD!!!

I also laughed myself silly watching Me, Myself, & Irene.

Worst movies:

Catwoman

Instinct, with Cuba Gooding Jr. and Anthony Hopkins. VERY bad.

Also, if Jane Fonda and Sean Penn were to be erased from the history of moviemaking for allegedly "unpatriotic" statements, then maybe Charlie Chaplin should be as well. He was considered a "communist" for his views
in the 30's and 40's.
