I am just curious as to why there are some forums in which we can delete our own posts and some in which we can't. At least I assume there are some in which we can -- I know I have deleted a couple -- unless that has been changed.

I can understand not deleting one's own thread, because that would mean deleting other people's writings as well. But I've had the experience of accidentally clicking on "quote" instead of "edit" when trying to edit a thread, and not realizing til after I have posted it -- then I have two posts, one in quotes, instead of one edited post and no way to fix it.

You will find a thread in the Frequently Asked Questions folder that addresses the topic of editing and deleting one's own post.

Please use the search link to locate it if you are unable to see it.

The Frequently Asked Questions folder has a wealth of information and answers to some of the most commonly asked questions.

This thread closed.

The only post I found about it in the FAQ folder said that we could not delete or edit posts after 48 hours. But in this instance, immediately afterward, there was no delete button. It happened again today. These both were in the "Women's Only -- Personal Issues" folder. Maybe this should go in the bug reports folder, but I am not sure if it is a bug or if that folder is just set differently for whatever reason.

Well, the "delete" button seems to be showing up there today.......don't know why it didn't before.
