It's very frustrating to not receive your responses! For some reason I didn't see yours until later.
Think that maybe they will come back once you are here??? I hope, I hope...

So question...

Should I troll my honey and not tell him that the thing he is gonna talk on tonight at church has been done not only by the pastor BUT by another deacon standing in his place in the last 18 months???

The way I got it figured it will be a VERY SLIM crowd with the pastor out of town anyway-

I had suggested a devotion type message(10 minutes) and then a longer Prayer and praise time cause we are often rushed through our prayer time because the pastor is cramming a 45 minute lecture into 30 minutes or less on Wednesday nights. Don't get me wrong I love the teaching! but it'd be nice if we could have a longer prayer and praise time occasionally.

*sigh*

Yeah I told him. But not til he had asked. I would not have told him unless he had asked. *Shakes head* he is STILL going to do it though. I wonder if he thinks that one of the FAITHFUL 10%'ers that'll be there tonight haven't ever HEARD the message before-

Lords Prayer as an index prayer- an outline for our prayer time....... I cannot begin to COUNT how many times I have heard this message. Please pray I don't fall asleep during his talk.

Hunting mom...

Is there going to be a 667 calf this year?
You know the guy that lives across the street from the Antichrist???

I know how disappointing it was for you to not actually have the 666 calf last year.

Perhaps one of those new mommas got her timing all wrong and you will have a 777 calf this year.

and what happens to your numbers when the year goes two digits again? like say in the year 2010?

Hi ezri!

I'm so glad you asked about the numbers of calves this year!
I was going to ask that, but the thought went out of my brain. (So else is new, right? )

I spent most of that post wondering what hubby was going to talk about that the pastor had been doing. And what the congregation's reaction would be.

No 667 calf this year..we sold half our herd off cause of lack of pasture..been a little dry around here..I think we will only have about 40 some calves....BUT my Daughter's birthday will be 7-07-97 this year

As for the ear tags....Hmmmmm...haven't really thought about it yet. Probably use the very last digit on the right.

BY THE WAY...what have you guys been up to around here?? Looks like some people have been getting spanked

A more apt description would be the death penalty (if they are never allowed to come back).

$2.5M check wrongly sent to counselor<--link

quote:

Sabrina Walker, 37, was charged Tuesday with theft by swindle and concealing the proceeds of a crime. She remained in jail Wednesday in lieu of $200,000 bail.

Walker, along with a man she lived with, allegedly bought a $500,000 certificate of deposit, funded two retirement accounts, bought a $500,000 Treasury bond, spent $5,500 on jewelry, $3,817 at Best Buy and $2,069 on limousine services, according to the criminal complaint.

Walker also allegedly bought two cars, called the state to report the check, then bought two more cars, prosecutors said.

okay the DITZ knew it wasn't her money and that she'd have to give it back so Um DUH! lets go spend it and have a good time. Even cashing it and putting it in the bank to collect the interest would have been illegal!

I got a 7000+ dollar check from the IRS once. did I cash it? NO WAY! I didn't even want to TOUCH the thing. It got sent back fedex priority next day.... I think I spent 30.00+ dollars to GET RID OF IT!

Some folks got no sense.

------------

as for the death penalty... there is such a thing called reconciliation. Just as there is such a thing as holding those who know the Lord to a higher standard than those how do not know Him. in that case "not knowing the truth" is a justifiable defense for doing something wrong... They don't know better- Like a wayward child. But knowing the truth holds us accountable and to a higher standard.

I stay out of those places because I know in my heart of hearts that some of the folks in them are simply looking for someone to argue with- They are a stumbling block and I prefer to remain upright.

Good Monday Afternoon, everbodie!

So, what happened on the message, Ezri? Did you stay with it to the last Amen?

Thanks, Dena! I meant Ezri! It must be the color of the writing (though they are a shade different!).

The message- yes I stayed with it till the LAST amen... and heard it AGAIN last wednesday!!!!! I think the honey told the pastor and he decided to get me but good. YES I stayed awake til the last amen on that one too. He took it section by section(as he has in the past) and we stopped and prayed after each bit. Lots of praying happening. But prayer is GOOD.

Where have I been?
Thats easy- going nuts! it is that crazy time of the year again. Graduations, End of grade tests, Weddings, VBS..... I have over 300 photos to deal with that about 75 different people are dieing to SEE NOW for the graduation and wedding. then the 5 CAT tests sitting behind me that I need to administer. I also have 60-70 kids I need to prepare crafts for for the last week of the month. I already have 50 small cups filled with ribbon and beads for one of the crafts and another 20 little cups filled with foam sport ball stickers- I still have to print off 20 My Testimony Booklets for the adult class.

And you all wonder why my hair is bright pink and my eyes are hidden behind dark lenses???

NOW- eldest child can take her CAT test ..... NOW! I will tell her it was y'all's idea.

And Dena and I wondered why you'd not been around! Beads for the kids, eh? Well, I made a bracelet last week! Not a me thing to do, but it was fun. I wore it that afternoon and as I suspected would happen, haven't worn it since. A colleague wanted people to join her at lunchtime and make them, so that's how I got into it.
Congrats to all your people, Ezri, weddings, grads, etc., and rest to you!
If you are not too busy , how about putting up a copy of your Honey's message?

Thanks for the congrats!

the trip home for the wedding and the nieces graduation went okay- so long as you don't mix certain of honey's siblings together or me with certain siblings for any length of time things usually work out.

Honeys message. Oooo it has been so long since I synch'ed my Palm- LOL! Lets see.....

that took a few minutes:

#1- this was a 10-15 minute devo type thing not a full 30-45 min sermon so the notes are short and sweet. I have tried to clean up the formatting as well- remember it is on a 2.5" wide screen in real life. The bible verses are all over the place down there. The * and o in the verses are links to the concordance and notes in the study bible I copy the text from on my PDA. I also removed the prayer list updates- didn't figure that they'd want their names on CW.

MAY 30, 2007

Matt 6:5-15 Lords prayer

Prayer
(6:5) "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing¤ in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.
(6:6) *But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father,¤ who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
(6:7) *And when you pray, do not keep on babbling¤ like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.¤
(6:8) Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need¤ before you ask him.
(6:9) **"This, then, is how you should pray:
"'Our Father¤ in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
(6:10) *your kingdom¤ come,
your will be done¤
on earth as it is in heaven.
(6:11) *Give us today our daily bread.¤
(6:12) *Forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.¤
(6:13) *And lead us not into temptation,¤
but deliver us from the evil one.°'¤
(6:14) For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.¤
(6:15) *But if you do not forgive men
their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.¤

PRAYER

1-prayer is personal
2-repetition is futile

-why pray?
*we pray to build a relationship with a holy God.

-how should we pray?
*to honor God
*that his will be done in our life
*have our needs met
*for forgiveness and the ability to forgive.

all done-

~ezri
