23 days left. Heartburn, stinging pain in my lower abdomen, exhaustion, lungs squished, cankles, brittle nails, emotional, and I can't tie my shoes. I wish I had everything ready here, so I could just tell God that I'm ready. LOL, I'm ready. He's probably up there saying, "Christina, get it together so I can take these horrible symptoms away and exchange them for lack of sleep, jealousy from Timmy, sore breasts and twice as many diapers!" LOL! No, really pregnancy and children are blessings. I'll just have to wait until He's good n' ready...It's probably for my own good too. It ain't gonna be like last time, running through Wal*Mart with my water broken trying to get everything last minute on the way to the hospital. Nope, we'll have bags packed and food stored in the freezer this time. Mommy, I wish you were here! Lord, thank You for enabling me to see the blessings through the pain. Please help motivate me to prepare for this baby. Amen.

Yesterday I found an ad on craigslist for a lady who would pay me to cut my hair. She makes dolls with real hair. Well, I've got this 14 inch ponytail sitting here from when I cut my hair a couple months ago. I hope she e-mails me back soon. Even if she just gave me 10 bucks for it, that would help tremendously. I sure hope we get our security deposit back soon from our last place, and I hope it's enough to buy everything we need. Last night I got my pedicure. It was WONDERFUL! I'm glad I picked a real light color for the polish though. LOL! First we soaked my feet in a hot pot of water. Then hubby used my sandpaper foot thingy to scrub my rough heels and the footbrush thing to make my toenails look nice. Then he massaged my swollen, pregnant feet and cankles with my favorite cucumber melon lotion. Then he painted my toenails (and toes and carpet) a really pretty faint pink. Even though it's kinda chilly, I think I'm gonna wear sandals today anyway. Lord, thank you for making the nail polish get out of the carpet. Amen.

Here's the birth story finally... I started getting contractions around 5am. They weren't too bad or regular, so I tried to sleep through them. Timmy woke me up at 6:45 as usual. When I got up to get him and make his bottle and do my morning routine, the contractions got more painful. I could still talk through them, but it was hard to fix breakfast for Timmy and make my husband lunch, so they ended up with poptarts and crackers and other junk food because I just had to sit down. I called my mom and told her what was happening, and she said she would come over and call in to work. My husband got up and I said he could just go to work since he had a local route that day, but as he was getting ready I realized that it would be too hard to take care of Timmy with the contractions. So, we got some stuff together and headed to the hospital around 8:30 since my mom was stuck in rush hour traffic. We stopped at fast food since I figured I wouldn't eat for a while. We checked in at the hospital and my mom got there around 9:15 and brought Timmy back to our house. My nurse Pam was really cool. She was an old hippy lady who used to be a midwife assistant for home births. She had really long gray hair and she wore a tie-dye teeshirt underneath her uniform. She asked me lots of questions about my birth plan, and even though I'm not super crunchy, I had a few crunchy requests and she said she would communicate that to my doctor. She checked me at about 9:30 and said I was 4cm already. I told her I'd be wanting the epidural pretty soon, and she notified the nurse anesthitist. I got in my jacuzzi tub for a bit and that was nice. Then my doc came in about 10:15 and said I was 6cm and Jimmy's head was right there (just like he had been for the last month), and he said I have a "very adequate pelvis" and should have no problem pushing Jimmy out. I asked him if he had a guess about Jimmy's size and he said doctor's who guess the size of the baby don't know what they're talking about usually. LOL, OK. He says if I feel like he's bigger than Timmy, then he probably is. By this time I couldn't talk through my contractions anymore. My nurse gave me some helpful advice to get me through my contractions. Then she hooked me up to the IV to keep me hydrated. Then Jamie, my nurse anesthitist walked in. He gave me the epidural. It went SOOO much better this time. What he was doing didn't hurt itself, it was having to hold completely still bent over through two contractions while he was in the middle of my epidural that was so hard. When that finally kicked in, my doctor checked me again and said I was ready to go. By then it was noon, and I asked him if I could just hang out and relax a little bit before I started pushing. He said that was fine. So I watched cable TV and sneaked a snack and hung out with Robert. Then the doc came in about 2pm and we started pushing. I pushed through two or three contractions and out came Jimmy hollering at 2:16pm. They used the snot sucker on him and put him right on my chest and he opened his eyes and looked at me and stopped crying. It was so amazing. It was love at first sight just it was with Timmy. He was 8lbs. 6oz. and 21 inches long. They let me keep the cord attached for a little longer then my husband cut it. Jimmy must have been on my chest a good 10 minutes before they asked me if they could do the eyedrops and poke him and weigh him. So, they did that and cleaned him up a little and Robert got to hold him. Then everyone left and I nursed him. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
