I need $1200. My car ended up needing a new transmission and clutch. I don't have $1200 and I have no idea where I'm going to get it, but I'm certain the Lord has it tucked away somewhere for me.

My son woke up sick this morning. Poor kid.
Tonight was the night that we were supposed to go out to dinner with hubby's boss, so we are going to postpone it until next week. I am still kinda stressed about the meeting. Hubby says that he just wants to get to know us better, but I have hopes that it is more... I don't want to get my hopes up, so please pray that I continue to accept what God has for us here.

please pray for my family....

I am off work this week due to Broomstick needing to have a gum graft today (it was planned...just forgot to post it)...he did well...BUT...meanwhile Angelface has come down with a high fever (103), sore throat, swollen glands and a headache. It may be the flu, or it may be something else. We are planning on trying to get into the doctor tomorrow...hubby is also not feeling well now too....similar symptoms minus the fever....blah!

Pray that Broomstick will heal quickly...that I will be able to keep him full (he's 15) on a soft foods diet and that he does not catch what they have (and that his younger siblings will not bump or bang into his mouth for at least 6 weeks!)...

Pray that my two sickies will get well.

And thank God I arranged to have this week off!

addendum to last night's prayer request....

Hubby is now running a fever as are Sweetlips and Dustmop....lol

there are only 3 of the 7 of us well at the moment...pray that Broomstick does NOT get this...it would be bad bad bad with him just having had a gum graft.

Thanks!

addendum number 2....

Everyone but myself and Broomstick have been diagnosed with Type A influenza. Pray that Broomstick does not get it and that his mouth will continue to heal. They gave him a prophylactic anti-viral prescription to hopefully ward off this illness. They gave me one too....

DS and I are sick.
Tomorrow is DD2's last Bible Quiz competition for Awana. I really want to be there. I can probably arrange to leave DS with Grandpa so I just need to be well enough to go.

please pray for my oldest daughter, Angelface. This coming Tuesday (February 24) she will be having 3 wisdom teeth extracted.

Also...I just feel we need to lift up Ezri and her family in prayer. I haven't heard from her in a while...but I just feel we need to say an extra prayer for them today.

My cousin's daughter, Emily was just taken to the hospital. They think something is wrong with her kidneys and they might be doing emergency surgery tonight. With a family history of kidney problems, my brother, this of course makes everyone more nervous. Emily is 8 years old. She is the same age as DS.

The headmaster at my school passed away this AM. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer over the summer so we knew this was coming.

Lifting up the other needs.

I don't post often, but have followed the hs thread and chat for a while now. I have a couple of blogs I follow.

Please pray for me, my husband and two children, our extended family, my sis-in-law and esp. her two children as we have all suffered the loss of my brother to suicide. He was found by his son on his way home from school. We are all devestated. My sibs and I had a horrendous childhood. My brother was prob. an alocoholic, he certainly abused it, prone to depression, according to my sister felt a lot of pressure from his job and felt he was a failure.

Because of our childhood and the neglect and abuse we suffered, we didn't operate anywhere near to a reg. loving family. I hadn't talked to my brother in some time or seen him in years. Now I have to live with that for the rest of my life and right now that seems like a pretty difficult task.

One of my sisters generously paid for my plane ticket to go to ND tom. morning. My sister's family and the rest of mine will drive up, please pray for safe passage for all as well.

Thank you,
hsmom2 (Deborah)

Got this email from the early ed director where I work:
quote:

On Friday 3/27, J, a second grade CSY student who is the son of T.B.(one of our kindergarten teachers), jumped off the metal playground equipment (about 6 feet high) at school. He was taken by ambulance to Y Hospital where they temporarily set the tibia and fibula in his left lower leg. He broke both bones. I am actually writing this to you from the hospital. He has been admitted to pediatrics and will undergo surgery tomorrow. They will either set the bones and cast it thigh high, or insert metal rods and cast it below the knee. This will be decided once they are in the operating room and can assess the situation thoroughly. He will either go home Saturday night or Sunday, depending on how things go.

We praise the Lord that the playground surface was rubber-tiled, and J did not sustain any other injuries, specifically head or neck. We praise the Lord that T was not only at the school, but actually on the playground when it happened, and was at J's side in less than a minute. We praise the Lord for calm and quick responding school staff and paramedics. We praise the Lord for a praying school, who all took J to the Lord in prayer as soon as the accident happened.

My MIL is currently in emergency surgery for what appears to be an intestinal blockage. The surgeon has also seen a suspicious spot on her chest xray.

Patrick also messed up his shoulder in tae kwon do - not sure exactly what's going on, but it's possible he cracked a bone, so I'll be squeezing xrays for him in sometime today.

It snowed last night and the roads are a mess. We have to travel 2 hours to be with my MIL, where I'll drop my dh and then come back to deal with Patrick's shoulder.

Update on J: He did not surgery. The dr was able to set the bones. He does have a cast up to his upper thigh.

My grandfather is in the hospital with Pneumonia. The doctor asked my uncle about a DNR. He's not quite to that point yet. My uncle said to call him when it was. THere is a DNR. I talked to my mom this AM and expect we will be making a trip in a few days out to Chicago.

My father just had ummm sensitive surgery so if we can hold off till THursday it would be good so that he is more comfortable with 12 hrs in the van. My mom and I will probably have to do all or most of the driving...not fun.

I just came on to let you all know that we are all right here. I'm not sure if it's made the national news or not, but there are massive wildfires all over our state. The town right next to the base has lost at least 100 homes. One of the neighborhoods that was evacuated & was the worst hit is where at least 4 people that work for dh live. The wind is blowing really bad here which is why the fires have spread so rapidly. Just pray for safety for those fighting the fires & peace of mind for those who don't know if they've lost everything or not. One of dh's troops that lives in the evacuated neighborhood is out of state in a school for the military. He is understandably distraught & frustrated even more because he's not here. So far there has only been one serious injury reported, so that is a praise! But I know there will be many firefighters & emergency personnel out tonight, so they need to be covered in prayer.

My SIL's cousin's wife was kicked in the chest by a stallion. The local hospital does not handle trauma like this so she was life-flighted to a bigger hospital. She is in VA and her hubby is 8 hours away in FL. She has lung and liver damage and internal bleeding.
Please pray for healing and for safety for her hubby as he travels. His name is Gary and her name is Rose Mary.

Update from my SIL:
"She made it through the night - waiting for an update. We know her liver was still bleeding last night and heard that her rib cage is probably crushed. Garry is with her and will call sometime this am with more information.... "

My brother just called and they are going to head down there this afternoon. They cannot get her liver to stop bleeding, so they are going to open her up and remove her liver. They are going to put the liver on ice to get the bleeding to stop, then put it back in. They will leave her opened up for 24 hours.

Please continue to pray. The broken ribs are what lacerated her liver and her lung as well. She and her husband do not know the Lord.

Please pray for my grandmother. Her name is Leona. She is a godly woman who wants very much to go see Jesus. She has just been diagnosed with some kind of spreading (non-tumorous) type of breast cancer and is refusing chemo. Please pray that the Lord will take away her pain and that she will not linger long in suffering.

edited to clarify

We have been under attack for some time by strangers who hate religious home schoolers. We ask God to bless those who treat us hurtfully without a cause. We ask Him to forgive them, for they know not what they do. We ask Him to protect home schooling families around the world.

Please pray for Melissa - she had one relatively pain free day today, but her migraine returned in full force this evening. This makes 17 straight days that she's had a headache ranging from kind-of-in-the-background to unable-to-function. Pray that the neurologist will come up with something that will get her pain free and keep her that way.

please pray for a family in our area....Wednesday night there were some thunderstorms and their two young children's baseball game was called due to lightning in the area. They (the two kids) continued to play catch on the field...and were struck by lightning. One child was pronounced DOA at the local hospital and the other one was air-lifted to a University Hospital in the area that specializes with burns and internal trauma. They are not sure if that child will make it or not at this time.

Melissa is currently in the ER. I came over to have coffee with her and found her sweaty and dizzy with a rapid heartbeat. Her EKG is normal but all of her symptoms point to something cardiac. They are still working her up. Headache is not a factor at the moment. Please pray.

Edited to add that Melissa has been admitted to the hospital for observation. I don't know anymore than that at the moment but will update when I hear something.

Update - All of Melissa's initial tests have come back ok - in other words, they have ruled out anything majorly serious. I talked to her about 45 min ago and she is tucked cozily into her hospital bed and sounds pretty good. They are planning on running a bunch of other tests in the morning, but at the moment she is resting comfortably.

Tuesday am update - All cardiac tests are normal and Melissa is being discharged. They still haven't figured out what's going on, but at least they've ruled out anything life threatening. She's seeing her regular doc this afternoon.
