Praise report: my dd is on track to being moved out of our house and into her apt. by tomorrow night. She, her father and myself had a time of prayer and repentance last night that seemed to be very healing to her. She admitted that she is in an abusive relationship and that it is not likely that the ex-bf will ever change. (He dumped her again this week as she starts a new school- what a jerk!) I am hopeful that the Lord will continue the work in her heart that has begun.

Prayer request: the same day I found out that my husband is being targeted for layoffs. It is not a total surprise. He has been without a full time client since the recession began. But I was not prepared for the process. He had his annual review and they gave him the lowest rating possible and put him on "probation". He does excellent work! He was not judged on his work but his lack of work. Double grrr. He is taking it better than I am. He is cheerfully complying with all requests no matter how unrelated to his job, and checking out leads at other companies and updating his resume.

I have been crying off and on ever since I found out at noon yesterday. Even the joy of hearing my daughter admit her ex-bf is not God's man and is in fact cruel and wicked was overshadowed by the potential financial threat. So pray not only for the job situation itself, but for my heart.

Thank you for all who prayed for my heart. My situation hasn't changed but the depression has lifted.

Melissa's husband was burning some brush earlier today - threw some gas on it and then lit it. It was pretty hot out, the gas generated a bunch of fumes, and it went KABOOM! when he touched the lighter to it. He has a few 2nd degree burns on his arm and 1st degree on his face and legs. We had pain meds available, so I patched him up rather than taking him to the ER. He is in quite a bit of pain and Melissa just about had a heart attack, but he is going to be ok. Please pray for a pain free night.

Pray for Angelface as she starts classes this week and since she is so far from home. She is doing pretty well though according to IM's and phone calls....

Pray for my hubby.....we had to stop due to an accident on the way (NOT us)...and he was second on the scene to assist.....the woman was dead. He is dealing with a lot of sadness and grief over the incident even though there was nothing that could be done about it (she was not wearing her seatbelt and rolled a moving truck about 10 minutes in front of us...she was tossed and the truck rolled on her...hubby was one who found her.....her legs were sticking out from under truck cab).

My husband has applied for a project that is:

a) perfect for his skillset
b) staffed with people that know and respect him
but c) the job is classified as being for a lower-level employee.

It appears that classifying my husband and many of his coworkers as higher-level employees is a deliberate effort to deny them clients (the company is demanding $675 an hour for this level of employee! no one will pay that!). While initially flattering, now it appears to be part of a lay-off strategy.

My husband and his coworkers cannot get work because of their level and rate, yet the company will not lower either one. Then, they were given the lowest possible employee review and put on probation because of their "low utilization rate".

Recently, their group was reorganized in an effort to help with networking. Sounds hopeful, right?

My husband and his under-utilized coworkers were isolated in a "group" that consists only of themselves. For them personally, this actually denies them an opportunity to network and make new inter-company relationships.

I am praying that what man means for our evil God will use for our good. I am praying for my hubby's heart, that he will find courage to look for new work confidently if (when) he gets laid off AND that he will know that he knows that he knows that he is NOT a poor employee! AND that we all remember that God is our source and supply, not this large corporation.

Everybody needs to pray now for a teen that posted a suicidal message on a social network.

I saw her earlier tonight and I was concerned simply from the expression on her face about her mental/emotional state.

After some bad months, my husband took several online quizzes about depression. They all came up with the result moderately to severely depressed. I did not know that sometimes men react to depression by provoking arguments, anger and aggression! I did not know that being dull of mind, slow to respond to questions, as if distracted, were also symptoms of depression. I am calling our doctor today. Pray that my husband gets the right help for his situation. This could also be a factor in why things are not going well for him at work.

Please keep praying for us. My husband got laid off today. We have an appointment with our doctor about depression tomorrow at 4:30. Husband actually seems happier now! This waiting for the ax to fall has been hard.

Shadowspring, praying for your husband, and for God's provision for your family during this time. I'm glad your DH is willing to seek medical help.

Everyone, my request is more a stress/annoyance than a critical need, but I'd still appreciate prayer. We've just started homeschooling with DD#2 (high school junior) this year. Last year she took driver's ed in school. She's now eligible for her license, but I'm having a tough time getting an answer as to how we proceed in getting it for her. She shouldn't have to repeat driver education but no one at the DMV had the answer for us. She's scheduled to help with a preschool arts class soon, in exchange for reduced tuition for her own classes with the organization, so I really need for her to be able to drive, so I won't have to ask off work to get her there and back (right now, I guess I'm glad she didn't start the Community College classes this fall as that would be one more thing she'd need transportation for)

Please be praying for Chris Klicka and family.

He is a warrior on the front for home schooling families and has suffered from MS for many years, but has taken a turn for the worse while at a conference in Colorado Springs.

You can read more about his current condition HERE.

Pray for the family of Chris Klicka. This man of God who so faithfully strove to protect homeschooling, even while fighting a debilitating disease, died today at 2:32 EDT.

Pray for Mrs. DC in Mexico. There is a Category 5 hurricane headed in her general direction.

More prayer for Melissa - she's been having significant pain in her eye on top of her migraines. The opthamologist can't find anything wrong, so she is seeing a neuro-opthamologist next week.

She is feeling pretty beat down and discouraged, and her husband is pretty scared even if he won't admit it, so prayer for peace and rest is most important, followed by prayers that the doctor will figure out what's wrong.

Please pray for my mother and my dad (he is my stepdad..but my daddy).

My dad has been having some serious...SERIOUS memory issues off and on for a couple of years, but this year...it has gotten really bad.

My mother finally was able to get him in to be evaluated (he refused before..and she had to be 'sneaky' this time...which she hated)..and it does not look good. He had an MRI this week, but I don't know the results of that yet (they are trying to eliminate brain tumor, fluid on the brain ,etc), and they are doing some extra blood work to make sure it isn't related to his heart or diabetes. Alzheimer's runs in his family though, and he will be 80 in February (he is 13 years older than my mom).

My mother is exhausted...he does not sleep and does...well...crazy things sometimes. He is a large man (6'1", 195 lbs) and I am worried about her well being as well as how she would be able to care for him if he got hurt.

Just pray that he will sleep so that she can rest, and that the crazy episodes will diminish while they are waiting for a firm diagnosis and while my mom gets plugged into support groups, etc. Also...that my mother will have the wisdom to make choices that may need to be made...no matter how difficult.

They diagnosed my dad with Alzheimer's today. It is pretty severe...and though they put him on one of the new meds that helps....they told my mom to only expect it to last about 6 months....and then he'll start going down hill really fast.

Pray for her...it is really hard for her to watch him deteriorate this way.....and it is hard to be so far away and not able to help her in anyway.

On the other hand...she did get all the guns out of the house (my Uncle helped her)....my dad had been having hallucinations and had started trying to carry a gun with himself all the time....(he actually has a weapons and concealed weapons permit.....that he got several years ago before he became impaired).....

Going to the neuro-ophthalmologist on Tuesday to follow up on the MRI that I had done last week. He does not expect to have found anything, but it will be nice to know. He put me on a month of prednisone and that seems to be helping. He thinks that I may have some swelling in my eye socket. Not sure why. Please keep me in your prayers.

I am going to pursue some more tests to see if we can get to the bottom of the migraine thing... allergies, gluten intolerance, yeast, etc. I am determined to take control of my health and make whatever changes need to be done. Please also pray that I find the answers and go the direction that God wants me to do. Thanks!

A young woman who belongs to our former church underwent brain surgery 3 days ago. She passed out at college and needed to be resuscitated. They found a clot on MRI and removed it - it is the result of an arterio-venous malformation at the base of her brain. She is not doing well - her intercranial pressures have been dangerously high, and at last report her pupils are blown.

At this point it would frankly be more of a blessing for her to go home with the Lord. She is only 18, and she and my Erin were childhood friends, although they have not kept in touch. She is her parents' only child. Her name is Brenna.
