My father just called. My brother was looking better but since dialysis has had 2 code blues which means he literally turned blue so now they don't know what is going on. He said that mom went to sit with him a little during dialysis and he was crying that he just wants to go home. They may not come home tonight so I may need to fill in for mom tomorrow at school. I need to find someone to watch the kids then. I have called 3 ladies at church who have watched them in the past and none are home.

It's been a very up and down day. Heard from my dad again. Chad had 2 code blues as I said before. They had to shock him and intubate him. He wasn't happy about that and they had to sedate him to do it.They now think he has a blood clot somewhere and he is getting a CAT scan now to find out. My parents probably won't be back tonight. I do have someone to watch the kids so I can sub for her tomorrow if need be.

Zoebob just called. Do all you Easterners sound funny? She said that the hospital her brother is at at the moment feels they have done everything they can do for him, so they are transferring him to a hospital in Philly. A pulmonary specialist is going to have a look at him. Of course, his wife, who still has a nursing baby and can't take the kids, is having trouble even being able to visit.. He is mostly sleeping with some wakeful periods. Zoebob will drop her mom off there in the a.m. and then head home. PS. could a Mod please post this in the Mod's section? Thanks!

HI everyone. I am back...sort of. I am at my parents' house. As of this AM Chad was still at the first hospital. I left my mom there this AM. Last we heard at noon they were planning to move him within half an hour. At the Philly hospital they will try injecting some meds directly into his lungs to see if that helps. If it does then they will try sending him home with those drugs. HOwever, they don't sound too optimistic of that at NJ hospital. He will be at the Philly hospital until they decide how to treat him and determine it to be safe for him to go home. I have never seen him look this bad. DOesn't mean he hasn't been this bad before. His blood pressure seems to be sittin at aroun 90/45 or so and his heart rate is bouncing between 100-148. He has a tube down his throat to help him breathe and another one putting "food" in. He cannot talk at all but can sign a little. I stopped at the church on the way to pick up thekids to ask them to send out an update. Everyone was there: office manager, secretary, youth pastor, and assistant pastor. I am exhausted and won't be home till about 9 tonight. DS is being crabby and disagreeable and I have no patience to deal with him.

My parents are on their way home and are very encouraged. They have had several specialists in to see Chad today and they have done lots of tests. They were able to do some procedures that the other hospital tried but couldn't do: they didn't have the specialized skills to do it. They are coming up with all kinds of possible reasons for why he is having these problems and testing for then. One possible problem is a long time effect of one of his medications is that it can keep your blood vessels from constricting so his body can't raise his blood pressure. He will probably be here for a couple weeks but they seemed to accomplish a lot today and just have all the necessary specialists to do what couldn't be done at Lady of Lourdes where he was in NJ. They think they may be able to remove the breathing tube tomorrow even. They also said that a transplant would be way off...not immediate.

My dh has his discogram today (that's where they shoot dye into his discs to see which ones are bad). We have heard it is a pretty painful procedure. We are praying that he will have only 1 or 2 discs that need fusion. If there are more, they won't be able to do the surgery. My SIL had a colonoscopy & they found 2 polyps, 1 they couldn't remove (not sure why) & are concerned about. She finds out the results today. FIL died of colon cancer several years ago. My Dad has been having tightness in the chest & after stress tests & other lab work, they are sending him in for an angiogram. Not sure the date yet. Depending on what they find, they may do the balloon or stint. My niece has the custody hearing for her daughter today. Yesterday was the child support hearing & it went well. (He has to pay $1000 back child support & $280 a month from now on.) We're praying that the judge will see what is best for the child!

I finally got Jerry to GOD finally got Jerry to go in and have some tests run. We are waiting on results of blood glucose levels and cholesterol levels too. I am still praying for God to nudge him to get the sleep study done. ~ezri

Well, things are going well for Chad at the new hospital. THey have him off of the breathing tube and he's on slow but constant dialysis. THe dialysis thing is to try to mimic what the body does naturally instead of letting all the fluid build up and then take it off all at once. THey want to see if that has any affect on his heart and everything. THey are thinking some of this may all be the result of medicines he's been on for 10+ years. They also think he may have an infection. THe biggest concern now is that he is too lethargic. He is just sleepy all the time and they don't have him on any sedatives. He needs to get up and get moving and be alert.

Updates: Dh's discogram went well. It didn't hurt as much as he thought it would. They found the disc that is causing him pain. It's only 1 so he is a candidate for surgery! They will consult with the surgeon next week & call us to set up the next step. SIL found out that the polyp they couldn't remove is cancerous. They will have to remove 12" of her large intestine, but they don't think she'll need chemo. The good news is that they caught it in time! The doctor said if she'd have waited any longer, it might not have been operable. She is really calm about it all, but her husband (they just got married last year) is a wreck. I'll post the date of her surgery later. My dad will have his angiogram this coming Friday (Feb 29th). We won't know until they get in there if he'll need the baloon or stint. The custody hearing didn't go well. The GAL's report said that the child would be better off with her father because they have a large newer house & my niece is living in a small, not so new apartment. No decision was made. They have a meeting in my niece's lawyer's office on April 3rd to discuss joint custody. I really don't think that would be the best thing. There are so many things involved & (of course) I'm hearing everything 3rd hand. So, just keep praying! Lots going on here - thanks for all your prayers! It helps to know there are others out there praying!

After talking with my mom today it sounds like my brother is doing better and there is a possibility of him coming home in about a week. They need to make sure he stays stable and that they can send him home with whatever equipment or meds that he needs to stay that way. I also just talked to Bill's sister. She said that he is not healing as much as they expected and that either it was worse than they originally thought or there is still some swelling that needs to go down. She said they did a CT scan today to help them figure out what's going on. She said there's a chance that there's a hole in his heart that is what caused it. She doesn't get a lot of answers from him right now. I suggested she have him sign a waiver giving the doctors permission to talk to her so she can get a better sense of what's going on. The kids have not been to see him yet. I am going to encourage them to do that in the next day or two as we can work it out: children need permission from the nurse to visit.

Dh and I could use some prayer. I can't go into detail, but I'll say that just as it appeared that things were getting better, "better" turned out to be a wolf in sheep's clothing. So to speak. Dh really needs to come back to Jesus, that's the top thing I'd like prayer for

A guy who works in my dh's squadron killed his 2 children & committed suicide yesterday. They were all called back into work around 6 last night to be briefed. One of dh's coworkers knew him pretty well & she is really distraught. Please pray for his ex-wife also. She was driving away from the house and heard the shots. And, of course, for the whole family.

Praying for those requests above- New request: Our church has gone through a good bit of change the last 2 years as the "new" pastor(when are they no longer new?) slowly waded into old church SOCIAL tradition and started moving peoples cheese... Well, We always knew he was a professor at the seminary + a preacher and that the job bringing home the bacon and his #1 calling was the TEACHING. He is an awesome teacher too. The folks at the seminary think so as well. They have promoted him. He is moving on to teach in the doctorate program. This is going to demand much much more of his time than he now gives his teaching and is graciously going to step down. before all of this our associate pastor tendered his resignation as he got a job at the seminary. it is a great opportunity for him as it pays enough to keep his wife home with the baby after her maternity leave. So if you are reading all of this you now gather that we will have no pastor at all come May 1, the associate pastor also acted as the office admin. so we be without someone in the office to prepare the bulliten and the like effective yesterday. Please pray that God touches the right man and that man answers the call. That the right people are called to be on the search committee. That our pulpit will be filled with good godly men bringing encouragement during our interim. oh! and that things will work out and our current pastor can transition from the pulpit to the pew and remain with us as an asset as is his families desire. They do not want to uproot the children. They have foundgreat support for their special needs daughter as well as a good base of friends for their other children and really feel they belong in this place. Thanks ~ezri

SIL has her surgery today. They will be removing part of her large intestine (12", I think). I'm not sure what time or when we'll hear anything. If we don't hear by the time dh gets home from work, I'll have him call our niece. Prayers that this would get all the cancer out & she would not need any chemo/radiation, would be appreciated!

Just got the call from our niece. SIL came through surgery fine! They believe they got all the cancer, but may do some chemo as a precaution. They also took out her appendix. Still praying for an easy recovery time for her!

My dad has his surgery today. They will be putting 2 stents in his arteries. I think the procedure is at 11am EST. My dad is 80, but in really good health for his age. Also pray for peace of mind for my mom. Thanks!

I am in need of prayers tonight. I've spent the day hurting and depressed. I've tried to pull out of it, but I am just to tired. I close me eyes only to have them fill with tears. I'm asking anyone who feels led to please say a prayer for me. I need rest. I need healing. Thanks

I am great need of prayer. I have been struggeling in Northern Idaho with getting my son to the public school. The drive is 20-25 minutes each way on a dangerous icy road. My carpool partner is hooked on prescription pain killers. I have just realized that she is doctor shopping and is under the influence much of the time. I feel that I have just been convicted by the holy spirit that I need to pull my son out of the carpool, which means that I will need to homeschool him. I am lucky that I live in the State of Idaho, because there is a public charter school called the Idaho virtual academy, where they supply us with a computer, testing, internet acces, all the lessons, books, and a certified teacher to consult with at regular meetings. My son is in the second grade and he is bright yet unmotivated because he is so tired being drug around walmart for two hours when the carpool partners pick him up from school. We have had no control over our own child anywhere from 8am until sometimes 5 or 6 at night! Please pray for me (Stacy) and my husband Kyle, my son Christian and daughter Ellie. We plan to have today be his last day. I do have support in the form of many people. My biggest concern is that I have been studying online for my pre-law degree through Penn State University. I'm going to need to drop out and lose my scholarship. I may continue in the summer, but right now I feel a calling to start this new way of life for the sake of my family. Thank you for any prayers. Stacy

Please pray for my student's to be accepted in the college of their choice. I know it may sound trivial, but it's the only one that is possible for one of my students. He didn't get permission from his mom to apply until two weeks ago. When we applied, we found out the deadline for top consideration already passed- Feb 15. The next deadline is March 15, and we are not sure he'll have all the paperwork in by then either. It would break his heart not to get in, once we have finally encouraged him to try. I hope this is a case where God makes a way where there is seemingly no way.

We are off home on Friday to visit with family. We will be telling them that Jerry has been called up and will deploy to Iraq come September on Saturday. I expect that this will not be received well. See jerry is in year #20 and could put in for retirement this year and not HAVE to go. but he has always said he'd stay in til they threw him out. and in 20 years of service he has NEVER been in a combat situation. Most of you know he is viewing this as a Government funded Mission trip. and that we are trying to think positively about how God is gonna use him in Iraq and how God is going to grow us here at home. Please pray that folks take it better than I am thinking they are gonna. Please pray that we have the right words to break the news and show how we are looking at this. Please pray that we present a strong tight knit front- a solid unit following God's lead and is gonna be fine. Oh and please pray for good weather and good travel! Thanks ~ezri

Please pray for me and my darn kidneys and UT system. They are acting up again. When I went in due to blood in my urine again...they treated me for an infection, but I had no symptoms of one other than the blood and when they did the urinalysis there was a high white blood cell count. I then had an allergic reaction to the medication (for the first time in my 39 years!)..and had to change it. I am done with the antibiotics...but there is still blood in my urine. They told me to just watch it and see since I have to go in next week for another urinalysis to see if the "infection" is gone. I think it is another kidney stone. They haven't scanned me for one or anything...I think they are just blowing me off to a certain degree...even though I have had enough episodes (and all of them the same) to recognize what it is. I just want to KNOW what is going on with me...okay..that's not entirely true.... I want to know what is going on with me...and then have the Lord heal me (cuz I KNOW He can) so that we can give Him all the glory.

I just came back from having my thyroid biopsy. It felt like a nightmare. I am not good about needles and lost it when they put in the anestesia (the numbing stuff) and began bawling uncontrolably for a bit until I could pull myself together again. I did ok from then until the last two needles (there was a slew of them) when I began to feel them. I went all tense trying not to move. I was gripping the nurses arm and crying hard. I neck really hurts now. I am tired and still crying off and on. I am so glad that it is over. The Dr and nurses where really nice, patient, calm, and encouraging though. I really like the people at that hospital. I am REALLY sore (my ears even hurt), and feel like I am coming down with something.

the results of the biopsy came back "suspicious". I am going to have to have an operation. They are going to take out my nodules and while I am still under examine them to see if they are cancerous. If they are (which they likely are), they will take out my thyroid as well and clean everything out. I will have to take one pill afterwards and then that will be the end of the cancer. I will then be on pills for the rest of my life... unless, of course, the nodules turn out to be non-cancerous.
