I don't doubt her one bit and please do not put words that were not there. Never said anything about a cape, what an ignorant remark. Get a grip. If you don't like what we have to say, then don't reply....move on. Friend you have completely misunderstood my post. Will you read it again? I believe it. I was actually affirming that this is "a typical type of manifestation". Adding to that, I mentioned for informational purposes variations on it, and how these types of displays can cause even more anger, fear, and isolation among households and between faiths. -Peace unto you as well. quote:
FoxInSox Gazingstock, why are you YELLING at us? Yelling was not my intention. I was stressing my desire to keep a balanced discussion about this topic alive, and not endless over pious posts about how "no one should be talking about these subjects" if we are in Christ.

To answer, yes I have witnessed unusual events that couldn't be explained. Saw something I thought was a ghost until I saw a man on TV explain that there are no ghosts of people, only demons in disguise as people being ghosts. Survived by the blood of Jesus Christ and by the Grace God has given me.

Satan is the Master Deceiver. Why wouldn't he send his demons to make people believe that they have seen "ghosts" that are human spirits wandering around the earth? This is a contradiction to what the bible says, and it has caused many people to dismiss the bible as being untrue. There is nothing Satan would rather see than the saints falling away from the truth!

I am very strong in my faith in the Church as created by Jesus, and Jesus as well as existence as created by God. I don't stray from that faith. Believing in the spirit realm for me is believing in what wonders God has created as well as science. I have my beliefs, but I don't know if all of them are true about everything I believe in. I will only know that when I am able to see Jesus and His angels, I can ask what I have never known as fact on Earth. That said, a lot of my thoughts on the spirit realm come from science, and yet a lot come from what I have discerned of research.

LOL! I must say, Fritz, that I have had a lot of eye-opening experiences sharing thoughts on subjects here. I never quite realized that Christians could have such varied opinions. I didn't even realize that maybe I did sometimes, but I'm wondering if I step on people's toes when I talk to them, and talk I like. I had conversations of the paranormal in my youthgroup, and many believed as I did. It's just so interesting, and I really enjoy this site. Cultures and opinions of other people have always been a fascination of mine. Anyway, Fritz, I haven't really seen your opinion on the supernatural. Have you already posted something? If not, what are your thoughts?

I believe that the disciples held the opinion that ghosts existed: Mt 14:26 - When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear. Mark 6:49-50 - but when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, because they all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke to them and said, "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." Ghost -> Phantasma: 1. an appearance 2. an apparition, spectre Personally, I believe ghost sightings are the result of one or more of the following: 1. Tainted food 2. Demonic deception 3. Mental illness

My list goes like this: 1) Natural Explanations 2) Imagination 3) Hoax/Prank 4) Mental Illness 5) Mischievous Spirits The use of the word "phantasm "is very telling. -It is "something" that pretends to be "something else".

quote:
Angels are real, demons are real, and most importantly, their interactions with us are real. As Christians, we are not to dwell on demons, or angels, nor are we to glorify demons or angels. John got his 'hand slapped' by an angel for trying to worship that angel. On the other hand, we are not to turn a blind eye to demons either. We must acknowledge that they exist, and if we are in a situation where action against one is needed, then so be it. Do we go out looking for demons to fight against? Of course not, but we have to be ready for when/if the situation comes up. On the other hand, some people are spiritually gifted in Exorcism, and that's what God calls them to do regularily. Certaintly, not all Christians have this gift, but the fact is Exorcisms are real, and to deny they exist, is to deny what Jesus said and did. I agree with this. I believe we are not to dwell on Satan and his demons but at the same time, be aware of their existence and attacks. I believe every Christian will be attacked by Satan in some way, shape or form while on earth. I myself have definitely been attacked, and have also been in the presence of "ghosts" before. I believe wholeheartedly these are demons disguised as a "lost soul". They take on the physical form and characteristics of a person who died in a tragic way. Its the ultimate deception, and it's working for a lot of people who believe in this farce. As someone else stated, it completely contradicts what the bible tells us and keeps people away from the truth. I also believe they are all around us. But I choose not to dwell on them, but rather keep my attention fixed on God.

ORIGINAL: humbleinspirit Ever witness first hand unusual events that couldn't be explained? My dd was about 7 months old. I was trying to carry her and two bags of groceries. I missed the curb and fell. Unfortunately, my dd fell out of my arms. She was falling pretty hard and I couldn't catch her. About 2 inches above the ground, she just stopped falling and was gently laid down on the cement. She didn't even cry- not even a whimper. She just looked over at me like "what's going on mom?" I have had a couple of strange circumstances happen to me. When I was really young, it was thought that the house that we lived in was haunted and I would see this old lady floating around, a ghost, or more realistically a demon disguised as a ghost. I lived in another apartment where a lot of strange things would happen; things falling off the wall for no reason, violence and crime happening down the street, fires, etc. Also thought to be demonic. What have been your experiences and how did end up surviving these events? I've had some times where I've had strange feelings about places or things. I think that demons exist, but thankfully they aren't active in my life- not AFAIK anyway.

I am always so inspired to hear stories of angelic rescues of children. I'm really glad to not have ever had any sort of interaction or attempted interuption from Satan or his demons. I can't imagine how terrified I would be. Violetlight, how can a ghost or even a demon be any sort of soul? There are only two options for a soul to go, and that is Heaven and Hell. Demons are definitely not souls, as they are fallen angels, not anything that has had an earthly body before.

I saw a'ghost' as a kid by my little sister's bed every night for a few nights after we moved to a new house. I was about 4-5. It never made a sound, but it looked like a black hooded figure. I finally shouted "What do you want!" at it, the hall light went on and my mom came in and it was gone. Never saw it again, but that is also when my mom taught me to say 'Leave in Jesus' name" and I found out it works! I was tormented with demonic nightmares into my teens, and I used that powerful phrase in my dreams too. I have told my kids all to use it, because God is way more powerful than the devil. Oh yeah, I know ghosts are demons in disguise. Or bad food.... I also have an unusual Angel story too. I was closing up the kitchen in a restaurant I worked at. I had a bad night and was in a sorta foul mood. An old man showed up at the window where we sent food out to the waitresses. He asked if he could get some food. I told him the kitchen was closed. He just stood there, he looked really shabby and kind of pitiful. I thought for a second and realized I had an order of chicken wings someone forgot to pick up. I told him I did have something he could have for free, and told him to go wait at the bar and I would bring them out to him. I put the food in a new box with some napkins and went into the bar and he wasn't there. I asked the watresses if they had seen him, and they said no, no one had come in or gone out. I figured he must have came in the side door, but when I went to it it was locked. There was no way anyone could have come in or out without going through the bar. I think it was a test as I had just gotten back into christianity, and it was one of the things that really opened my eyes to the reality of God. I also needed to know God was where I was in my dirty, forlorn little corner of the world. I know it sounds kind of like not much, but it spoke volumes to me at the time of how much God cared for me too.

That reminds me of my angel experience. It was actually at sermon when I was little, and we were listening to the minutes from the weekly newslater when a lady dressed in old but clean clothes. The only thing I remember of how she looked was that she had the exact same denim overcoat that my mother wore since the 80's, only it looked brand new. We stood to sing a hymn and she did not pick up the hymnal once. Her voice, though was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen, just like bells. She made no movements the whole service except to stand to sing and pray or to watch the congregation silently. Often she glanced down at me. When service was over she walked out with my grandmother and me and asked for the restroom. I went in a minute after her and saw no sign. This was during a serious surgery recovery of my grandpa, and Gram and I agreed years later that we never again felt distressed or sorrowful about his current condition. No one around us had seen her. While I'm on topic, here's my first ghost experience. I lived in an obviously haunted house, at the time of the angel in the church, by the way. Electrical surges were common, as well as perfume scents and unexplained shadows. I woke up one night and saw an old-fashioned lady in front of my bed, all white. It was apparantly ectoplasm, because I could see the TV behind her, but we just stood staring. I said "Hi," and she floated out of the room. I lay there for a few seconds thinking, rolled over and fell asleep. I never saw her in form again, but the (now explained) phenomena increased, never harming, and sometimes humoring.

I meant that they disguise themselves as a lost soul. People see ghosts and think that the ghost is a lost soul that hasn't left earth, when it is really a demon. I agree that souls do not stay on earth after death.

My mom has told me the following story on several occasions. When she was around 10-12 years old, she and her father (an evangelist) happened to be at some kind of fair or something where there was a medium conducting seances. My grandfather said "let's go in, to see what happens, but we'll pray before we go in". So, they prayed before they entered the room. As everyone got settled, the medium looked directly at my grandfather and said "I can't do anything while you're in the room. You have to leave." They left, but hung around and talked to a few of the other people afterward. They heard and saw all kinds of supernatural things. But the medium couldn't do anything with my grandfather and mother in the room....

Hi! I am into the paranornal, and there are spirits that go unrest here, simply because of the basic prayer given at the funerals. "Earth to Earth..." Instead of "Earth to Heaven..." Yeah and there are demons too. I've fought with some too, over someone's mentality and their own personal demons and unforgiveness of their pass. They haven't forgiven themselves or even asked for forgiveness, and have carried grudges. which allows demons to attack them. Mind you these days the demons are usually are called and sent, by muslims and other sorts.

Dear Fritz PW, I do believe you left one out: Spiritual perception....... (Note: I didn't say spirit perception) Heb. 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 3. By faith we understand that the worlds were formed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. My brothers made a statement when I was young that was mind boggling to me, then. That the spirit world is more real than the world we see and touch right now. When you think of it, they are right. This world as we know it will pass away, After our death and resurrection, we shed what was visible in our eyes and become part of this invisible world as Jesus did. Not as ghosts, but with fully resurrected bodies. To come and go as we can't today. I don't think we will be blind to the invisible any longer. Don't believe in Ghosts? How often in the Bible is the Holy Ghost referred to. Most every body here believes in Jesus,.......God. How is that, you don't see them with your human eye. The answer is of course in Heb. 11:1 (above). We discern them through the Holy Spirit that dwells in us. God himself declares there is an invisible world. His book says so. Science and most of the world denys Them since it can't see Them. They habitually deny what they can't explain, even if they seen it with their own eyes. I think we have all experienced the unexplainable, and shrug it off, if we can. I believe that we must believe in, not deny, the existence of the invisible. Through the advise of the Bible, we know better. But at the same time we must be Spiritually intelligent about it. Satan does go hither and yon, ready to devour.....the Bible tells us this also. We must be mindful of his ways, so we can defend ourselves. We suffer as the world suffers, but with a better understanding. God Bless!

All Jesus Lovers will not deny the existence of the enemy. Many posts above have shared scriptures stating the obvious. Angels are merely God's helpers. They do not have the option to do what they want but rather only to execute that has been tasked by GOD. Ghosts or more appropriately, Satan & his cohorts (demons) are on 24/7 destruction work. We do not need to seek them out for an occasional battle. Let's not try to be heros lest we become zeros i.e. fighting a battle without being properly geared up (Ephesians 6). Let's keep our fences, windows, doors etc securely shut & well-maintained (spiritual walk with GOD). All they need is just a small crevice, all hell break's loose & we are defeated without knowing what actually happened. If anyone wants a foretaste of what the demonic realm is like, ask GOD for spiritual eyes to "see" & the gift to discern the demons from the angels... I asked once only. "Saw" them. Thanked HIM for that insight & said, "No, thank you Lord. I've seen enough." Knowledge is great... but knowledge comes with Greater responsibilty. It is my prayer that we exercise wisdom in everything that we do & consider. Blessings... JesusFreak

Hi. I would say that paranormal experiences is something that some people have while others don't. I did never experience something paranormal while awake, but I had some mystic dreams and some encounters with agents (angels?) while not quite awake. I think that the mind is receptive for this sort of things and visions in the sleeping state, but that it in the waking state in most cases efficiently shuts out such interference. But I know there is people that have different experiences while still awake, but I don't think they are illusions- on the contrary I think it's evidence of a spiritual reality. For instance I know a young woman who is visited constantly by spirits. There are also Catholic Saints like recent Pater Pio who witnessed about a spiritual reality. But I praise JC for protecting me from evil, and I encourage others to find peace in His love. As some other cited from 1. JN: there is no fear in perfect love. Love, Toby.

One very strong reason not to pray or speak to the dead. (-Not saying that you did so.) Usually these events are minor, but on occasion, they can be absolutely terrifying and potentially dangerous. Also avoid dedicated areas in the home to the dead. It can act as an invitation to seducing spirits to play upon self deception. quote:

Tommica Angels are merely God's helpers. They do not have the option to do what they want but rather only to execute that has been tasked by GOD. Angels are much more free to act than tradition makes out. They merely follow God's instructions to the letter. Here God warns Israel not to make his angel angry, because he wont be as forgiving as God: Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name [is] in him. -Exd 23:21 In Acts we see the angel of the Lord lash out: And the people gave a shout, [saying, "It is] the voice of a god, and not of a man". And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost. -Act 12:23
