I'm gonna go ahead and register for next semester, taking a pre-req and since I cannot register for any grad classes, perhaps a class that might do me some good in life. and I agree, don't leave anything to chance, that is why I think I need to get some real-life relevant classes and skill-gaining classes under mybelt. so that when I graduate, I can actually do something. the reason I wasn't really into this class is because it was all theory. my epxerience has been that theory is great, but I need practical skills in the real worled here. have a good holiday all.

Darcy, that's not bad for any age! I know some 20 years olds I go to school with that could take a lesson or five from you! I have 3 of my five grades in...all A's so far. I'm expecting and A in one of the last two, but one is up in the air due to the fiasco our final ended up being. The professor decided to put the final online for some unknown reason and we had issues from the get go...laptops losing power, exams randomly resetting, blank exams being submitted...glitches right and left. It was horrible! So, I still have no idea how she is going to fix that mess. She wasn't there, just the proctor, so we've had no feedback from her. I don't see how she can count that exam and it be fair, but, who knows....

Not a word. I know she's out of state, but still. An email saying she is aware of the problems and will something out when she gets home would have been nice. She was on the phone with the proctor for nearly the entire test trying to fix issues, so she knows we were beyond stressed. We'll see.

I finally heard back from my professor of the messed up final exam. Even with all the issues we had with the computers, I managed to get 190/200, which kept my average an A for my final grade. That means another 4.0 semester! I never thought I'd manage that this semester with that many classes! I'm a happy camper!

Writing, probably. You can never be TOO skilled in that.

So, I haven't bragged about my grades, and I won't. BUT... I just gotta brag about my book bill for this coming semester. TOTAL for ALL 12 hours of class: $100. That's IT. Just a hundred bucks. AMAZING. w00t! shallbe

Well, part of the deal is that one of the classes I'm taking is sequential (Music HistoryIV) and this is the 4th semester of it: I've had the same set of books/cds for it for 3 semesters and this is the last one. Same for Voice--I have all the books. For Biology I found a book on Half.com, and for New Testament the book and chart were really cheap. Come to think of it, my fall semester should be just as cheap or even better. I expect my summer semester to be a bit steep, however. shallbe

I spent $600 last semester(all used books) and am looking at about the same, I think. Maybe a little less since I'll only have 15 units. I love it when they require more than one book per class. Because doncha know one isn't bad enough

You know what I wish the schools/professors would start doing? I wish there were more podcasts of the lectures. If you go to a workshop and pay a few dollars, you can upload the lecture to you iPod and listen in the car. But if you pay thousands of dollars for classes, you can't get that! Ugh! I've got a 14-hour drive next week and I don't want to just waste my time. With one of my books, the author had short podcasts with each chapter, but I think those are gone now. Those were really helpful, but I didn't have an iPod back then.

You were fortunate to get used books!! The publishing companies are changing editions so quickly that it's not easy to find used books anymore. Last semester, they changed formats on us That happens here too. Ours are usually used for two years...the year they come out, and the following year, then they want the new edition. I was fortunate enough to get all professors this time who wanted to stick with their old versions.

Get one with a good mic or buy a mic to go with it. Then record all your lectures. Download to your computer and put it on your iPod. I have two of these. They are also flash drives and plug directly into my computer for sync. They are AWESOME. In some cases cell phones are equipped with a "voice notes" feature that could be used the same way. shallbe
