Here I am again, looking for prayer ...
My husband lost his job last summer and we spent a few very uncomfortable months not knowing what he should do next (search for another corporate job, move out of the country, start something of our own). Then, seemingly out of nowhere (but I know better!), John was approached by a man who was looking for a partner to launch a hedge fund. This man, Steve, earned immediate respect from John with his well thought out strategy and obvious intelligence. However, John was a little concerned that Steve was "a religious freak". So, there it was. The answer to YEARS of prayer that God would send a solid, male Christian into John's life, someone admirable and "manly" enough to attract my cynical husband. I was noncommital about the direction John should take ... I knew enough to not project my elation regarding Steve's faith to John. In the end, John and Steve launched the fund together and have turned out to be fabulous business partners as well as good friends. I have also become friends with Steve's lovely wife. She is just really special and I feel so blessed by God to have them in our lives.
So ... fast forward a wee bit ... the fund launched at the start of April with very little capital ... I probably don't have to tell you that this is an extremely challenging financial market situation in which to launch a fund. Well April was a largely flat month for the fund, but May was down. June, so far has been wildly up then down. John's moods are directly tied to the day to day performance of this fund. It is emotionally exhausting for us both! To make matters worse, Steve (according to John) is feeling nervous about the performance so far. We have a tremendous stake in this venture. If it fails, I know it will be for the best and that God has something even better for us in mind. But it is hard to truly believe this in my heart day after day when all appearances say our ship would totally sink ...
Will you please pray for us all? For me, that my faith will remain in tact no matter how ominous the future appears, that I will be the support and source of encouragement John needs here at home ... for Steve that his own faith will be amplified a thousand times over as he goes through this scary time ... and for John that he will be drawn closer to having a real relationship with Jesus Christ through the outcome of his efforts. I am also praying that these two men have uncanny wisdom and foresight in their field that sets them apart from other money managers.
And, if you are drawn to do so, please praise God for how he has provided a spiritually sound friend for John! It was beyond my imagination and hope that John would ever have a Christian BUSINESS PARTNER. Only my God would do something like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PRAISE HIM!

A quick update on this weekend with John's parents ... John just called to say his dad ISN'T COMING!!! I involuntarily let out a squeal of joy but then checked myself. It is such a tremendous relief to not have that mean old man haunting my house for the entire weekend! My MIL is still coming but I get along with her fairly well.

I have my first gyn appointment tomorrow. I'm not happy and I'm honestly scared to go. No particular reason, I just absolutely hate the idea, but it's something I have to do before leaving the country for a year so I'm biting my lip and going through with it. Prayers will be much appreciated.

I don't know if I am being a good wife when I come here so often and ask for prayer for my husband in a public place... BUT.. i am desperate.. and I really have no one else to ask for prayer
My husband has now stopped going to church with me... he has told the pastor that he is angry with God and he feels that church does nothing. He has told me that he has been going to church with me all that long just to please me and that he feels no connection to the church nor to God( I already knew that but was hoping that one day he may hear a sermon that may stick.. but now that he is no coming .. there is no hope)
He is still out of a job and he is becoming more and more resentful of my career....he is hating everything in life and almost challenging God as to what disaster will happen next... he says God hates him and will never ever bless anything he does and we will continue to be in misery for the rest of our life.
I am so down and I don't know what to do anymore... I am even worn out from praying.
Please pray for Phil... AGAIN...

Please pray for me and my attitude about work. I find myself feeling a lot of anger toward my supervisor because of things she says to me; I'm afraid to approach her because she's very touchy. The whole situation at work now feels like walking on eggshells, and I think the economy is part of it because everyone's tense about our company remaining profitable. Thank you for your prayers. I just need to stop feeling so much anger and fear. I'm also afraid that I will end up blowing up at her and create a worse situation.

Please lift our family in prayer
I am a single mom and just learned that I will be getting a significant cut in pay. (approximately equivalent to half of my current monthly net income ). Others at our company have had hours cut and have been laid off due to poor economy. Daily I see family's threatened with homelessness because of loss of employment, so I am glad to still have a job that I love. Just not sure where to cut anymore from our family budget.
Also, please pray that my former husband will send money for children's medical expenses.

Our elder at church (the one we have the most contact with and would call with a concern) has a son who was just diagnosed with a medical condition that leaves him very dizzy and could leave the boy deaf. It's a hard blow for a young man just on the cusp of his adult life. Please pray for healing.

Please continue to pray for my work situation. The relationship with my supervisor is very frustrating, and I'm trying to find another job. Please pray the Lord will lead me to a better place. I'm often scared and sad in my current situation.

My daughter's first appointment with the Consultant Rheumatologist is this Wednesday afternoon. We've been waiting 6 weeks for this; it's seemed like a very long wait. X-Rays of her pelvis indicated some erosion on her sacroiliac joints which is an indicator of some kind of arthritis. She is so young to be facing this (she is 16 next Sunday). It is very hard not to worry, yet I know I need to be strong for her, so that she can remain positive, whatever the diagnosis. Please pray for her, and for me.

I feel the same way you do in the sense that I'm told changes are seen and on some issues I do see and feel growth, however I feel I need more.

1) Today I have this really odd intestinal where my abdomen hurts and I have a fever the symptom came on quite sudden this morning. I would really like prayer that they would go away because I can't afford to take a sick day.
2) I am currently in the process of moving. Last month I had everything arranged in regards to friends lined up to help me move... the only thing I didn't have was the exact day I could move. Now My friends have decided they are too busy and I still don't have a date to move into my new condo and I have to be out of my place by the 30th... I would like prayer that everything would be straighten out and I would have some peace of mind when it comes to the move.
3) I have been in small group for 6 years. Over the summer I disclosed something confidential information about my job that I needed prayer over. I knew that I probably shouldn't have shared everything but I really needed discernment and we have a rule of what is said in small group stays in small group. However one of the small group members felt that I was wrong to share the information that I did and instead of coming to me and telling me his concerns he emailed my employer. This email nearly lost my job, and my new condo (it is staff housing). So I decided to leave my small group because of this and due to that everyone in the small group thought what he did was the right thing. So I would like prayer that I can find a new small group or find a way to reconcile with my small group.

Praise God.. my husband finally got a job! its been 1 week, but Ican already see how happy he is to be back at work! he was at home for 7 months while I worked, which was tough for him to handle. Anyways, thank you all for your prayers for that issue. Please do continue to pray for him for salvation.

Hey Ya'll. . .
I'm heading out the door to the ER. I burned my hand really good this morning taking a bowl of grits out of the microwave. They were thick and sticky and stuck to me pretty badly. When I pulled my sleeve away, skin came with it. Bad burn. Just left doc's office, came by my office to pick up some files and have secretary reschedule and am on the way to the hospital.
I suffer from a chronic form of MRSA that is Vanc resistant. Papercuts are dangerous for me - I am a carrier for staph and the least little cut or opening is a welcome mat laid out for infection. I know I'm in for a bout of antibiotics, but I'm hoping it's only a mild second degree burn.
Your prayers would be really welcome. I use my hands for everything - don't we all??
