No, it's not like a twitch, it's definitely a vibration, lasts about 30 seconds, sometimes longer. Weird.

doinkdom -> RE: Peri-Menopause and Menopause Support (9/12/2007 5:26:07 PM)

I'm not sure if this is the same thing - but I do get this sensation of liquid - almost like you can feel your period flow...even when there isn't a period happening. It's kinda vibrate-ish like a spicket being turned off and on.

I have that every now and then.

Hischild1994 -> RE: Peri-Menopause and Menopause Support (9/12/2007 10:15:31 PM)

Me too. It's very annoying!

doinkdom -> RE: Peri-Menopause and Menopause Support (9/13/2007 2:55:09 PM)

It is!

I always run to the bathroom to make sure that nothing's going on, too.

ya know[8|]

just in case.

Hischild1994 -> RE: Peri-Menopause and Menopause Support (9/13/2007 4:51:27 PM)

Yup!

I know the feeling!

Yeah, I guess that's kinda what it feels like, but mine is kinda higher up so I never think anything's coming out. It's neverending, though, it happens every 15-20 minutes.

Oh yikes that would be annoying!
That sounds more like a muscle spasm, have you gone to the doctor?

myckey -> RE: Peri-Menopause and Menopause Support (9/14/2007 3:14:14 PM)

No, it's just annoying to me. If it ever gets constant or painful I'll go in, but not the way it is now. I'm getting more used to it now.

doinkdom -> RE: Peri-Menopause and Menopause Support (9/14/2007 3:30:25 PM)

the things we get used to [8|]

myckey -> RE: Peri-Menopause and Menopause Support (9/14/2007 3:32:05 PM)

LOL!!! Do we have a choice?

nanato3 -> RE: Peri-Menopause and Menopause Support (9/14/2007 3:57:33 PM)

Memaw I knew I was menopausal not completely through it yet. I have just about every symptom. Some I didn't even know were symptoms. I'm kind of glad to find out, sometimes I just thought I was going crazy, my husband would tell you I already am, so maybe worse than usual LOL.

Yea, Rick is certain that I am crazy too.[8D]

jodavi -> RE: Peri-Menopause and Menopause Support (9/14/2007 4:48:05 PM)

I used to work with this lady years ago and she's a great Christian woman. Anyway, when she was going through her menopause, she was telling me that there was a tape given to her by her ob/gyn (I believe she's also a believer) for her husband and teen daughter to listen. The tape was more aimed to her family so they can support and understand what's going with a woman going through menopausal. She shared with me how at times she was just frustrated because it was becoming to be either a joke or her family was just getting annoyed with her (or at least she thought) but the tape helped her husband and daughter and she was recommending it highly then. I did not pay attention to it then since I did not think I would need it sooner. Now...if I'd only listen to her and if I only know where she at now.

Kath -> RE: Peri-Menopause and Menopause Support (9/14/2007 5:38:59 PM)

Jodavi, the name of the lotion I told you about is Lac-Hydrin 12%, but we get the generic Ammonium Lactate Lotion 12%.

This link must be old because it is still calling it a prescription, and I think our dr still thinks it's a prescription because she wrote one for the pharmacist. Linz says when she first puts it on her dry scaly patch it does burn a bit but it goes away in time. It is the only thing that cures her dry skin. You are suppose to use it twice a day.

You know that tape could even be beneficial for the woman experiencing menopause, just to know what she is experiencing is normal.

Boy did I need this. I've had that sensation too where it feels like I'm starting but I'm not. The headaches aren't good. I mean they're pretty much daily. Mood swings well we won't talk about those. Luckily the hot flashes aren't too bad, but then again I'm always hot anyway. Yes that thermostat during the summer is on 72, & in the winter never above 68. If hubby is cold he can put on a sweater.

I hadn't thought of that!
I have had a headache every day for the last ??? days.
About 2PM it starts and doesn't let up until evening.
Right now it feels like my head is going to pop off.

Hischild1994 -> RE: Peri-Menopause and Menopause Support (9/14/2007 9:25:49 PM)

I get quite a few headaches too, but I think they are allergy and stress related.

~~~
I don't know if genetics play any role in menopause as my mother was still having a period or two a year when she passed away at the age of 66.
I was sitting outside this afternoon, nice cool breeze wafting ever so gently across my skin when out of nowhere I started sweating.[&:]
My face got hot, my neck got clammy, I began to feel like I was a lobster in a pot of boiling water.
THIS IS NOT FUN![:@]
I am finding out that I have sweat glands in areas that should not have sweat glands!
And I am now officially 2 weeks late on my period this month.[sm=aside.gif]
Yup and yup. I'm 48 turning 49 in a couple months. My periods are so heavy and I'm deaddog tired when they come. I'm so freaky moody that I feel like I'm totally loopy!! I quote the verse "God has not given us a spirit of fear of power, love and SOUND MIND." a lot!!!!
Add the stress of my husband having cancer and it sure is good to have a Bible nearby.
I don't seem to get night sweats but I sweat easily while I work around the house or going shopping in public!! [:(][X(]
Hi carlee.
I'm so sorry to hear about your husband having cancer. I know that it's hard to take care of a loved one who is that ill.
I should start quoting that verse about sound mind- because most days I think I've just lost my mind. [:)]
Memaw. -> RE: Peri-Menopause and Menopause Support (9/17/2007 11:58:06 PM)
I have a question...it's kind of personal.
What can be used to replace the "natural lubrication"?
I have tried some products and find they irritate and are...how to say it?...tacky (messy).
Does anyone have any suggestions?
(Mods, I am trying to be discreet.)
Hischild1994 -> RE: Peri-Menopause and Menopause Support (9/18/2007 12:14:40 AM)
*attempting to be discreet back*
Husbands can provide natural lubrication. I'll leave it at that.
peace77 -> RE: Peri-Menopause and Menopause Support (9/18/2007 4:22:39 AM)
Kim,
I know what you mean and relying on your husband isn't enough.
I've tried several different kinds of personal lubrication. Some are rather expensive.
The one I'm currently using is the Target brand of Personal Lubricating Liquid.
The "warming" ones are nice but the K-Y Touch Massage -Warming is like water and runs everywhere.
The kinds that come in a tube like toothpaste such as K-Y jelly are too cold and awkward to use.
Yeah, there is some stickiness but that can be taken care of with a shower. The benefits outweigh the drawbacks.
Kath -> RE: Peri-Menopause and Menopause Support (9/18/2007 8:51:36 AM)
I think there is one called astro glide. I've never used it but a lot of the young women here in forums say they do.
Memaw. -> RE: Peri-Menopause and Menopause Support (9/18/2007 9:16:08 AM)
I have tried the K-Y brand and end up itching like crazy (even when I have a pap test and doc uses it).
I have heard of Astro Glide but always associated that with bad porn jokes (wait, that makes it sound as though there are "good" porn jokes).[8D]
My skin is so sensitive to just about anything anymore, even soaps irritate. It's not just "in that area" either, it is my entire body. Makeup brands that I have used for years all of a sudden irritate my face (itching, rough, red), bath soap that I have used for years does the same thing.[&:]
