Not intentionally....but I have fasted just because I completely lose my appetite after a period. I may not eat for one or two days. I don't know...just not hungry.

I don't feel bad or anything and I still drink a lot of fluids.

But I've never done a purposeful fast for more than one day.

Yep... I think Laura was pregnant and Caroline thought they'd be pregnant at the same time.

I actually think that things were talked about far more than we imagined and then it became not the done thing to talk about such things, so they weren't talked about.

When I've figured out what you said, I figure out if I agree or not.

I believe it was in Victorian times that people became so hung up on what was said.

Before then, and since perhaps the 1960's, people have become more open. In Elizabethan times, people wouldn't bother getting up and leaving the room to have a pee ~ they'd simply go to the corner of a room. The bedlinen of girls would be checked as she came into puberty ~ once her periods had started she could be married off. The morning after a wedding, the sheets of the wedding bed were examined (for blood, because naturally the girl would be a virgin) as a sign that the marriage had been consumated.

Okay, I have a question for all you lovely women. Do you know if the irregularities in your cycles are related to not ovulating ie, have any of you done fertility symptom charting for your cycles while in peri/pre/full menopause?

I haven't done a thing yet. I've thought about buying one of those tests I've seen online, but haven't gotten around to it yet. k

I'm getting Novasure done tomorrow.

Thinking back to "what did women do back in the 'old days'?"....

One or two decades ago, if this sort of thing went on for a while, they would get the big H. It's what happened to my mom. I'd certainly rather have Novasure than that!

Me too. My mom had that done too.

Question maybe someone here knows...I am having some bleeding after sex. I had a complete hysterectomy in November. It's light bleeding and lasts a few hours, but it is bright red. This has only happened the last couple/few times, and I'm not sure why. Do I have to call the doctor? (I really don't want to.)

Do you have any pain or discomfort?

I think if it were me, I'd be inclined to speak to the doctor ~ it may be nothing but if it's an infection of some sort it would be better to get it sorted sooner than later.

No, no pain or anything. I just know they're going to want me to come in and it's probably nothing and I don't have time... Plus Brian has back surgery next week, so I'll have a good couple months to heal whatever it is, right? I'm wondering if the spot where my cervix was is not totally healed or something? I don't know...could it be as simple as needing to use more lubrication? I am on estrogen.

I think things went well.

The procedure went without any complications whatsoever.

The "cramping" was pretty bad. It was more like straight pain then the kind of tensing/waves of cramping. I'm on Vicadan and will likely stay on it through the night; hopefully tapering down to something OTC tomorrow morning.

Anyone ever have problems w/ migraines & breakthrough bleeding? Yesterday, I had one of my "biggies" which led to thowing up. Soon after, I had some spotting that lasted for about 4 hours. I just wonder if this can be common. I finished my period a week ago. k

Does anyone feel semi bi-polar at times? I know that's a serious illness, but some days I feel like I'm up and down in a matter of hours.

I can't really answer that, given I have bipolar. I do know that my mood can greatly be affected by the food I eat/don't eat. If it would only happen when I wasn't eating right, it'd be one thing, but given it can happen whenever, it's quite something else. As I said, what I eat/don't eat (skipping meals) can cause probs though.

I can feel quite sad all of a sudden, but not the other way around. I never feel just suddenly so happy. For me, I think it is just hormone related. I've never really looked at the diet aspect of it.

Yeah, it's worse to feel that it's coming on & it doesn't rather than not feel anything at all. Hang in there! k

Well, Aunt Flo is back and she's back with a vengeance! I wasn't able to go to church this morning because of what I woke up to.

Me too. I am glad I came here and read these last 2 posts. I haven't had a period for 3 months now, but I still getting some mild cramping and some headaches. This not knowing when, of if, my period will start is not fun.
