While ya'll are sitting around waiting for Aunt Flo, think about me. I wish Aunt Flo wasn't in such a hurry. She shows up today, one day before my 30-year class reunion. Fun weekend! k

Sorry to hear that. She should ask before she visits, that is only polite

But then poor Rick would have a heart attack if you bought another pregnancy test.

I thought the old battleaxe was leaving, but she made it clear last night that she is going to sick around for a little while longer. It would have been nice to go swimming at the neighbor's today.

Her last visit was April 19...I know this because it was our anniversary.
Now of course since I opened my big mouth she will remember me and come visit...BUT she missed my birthday!!
HAHAHA!

Well, Aunt Flo was the least of my problems. I'm going to kill my ENT! He put me on prednisone just to clear up a sinus infection. I had major withdrawal all weekend. I sweated profusely & was very dizzy to the point of almost passing out. That & Aunt Flo definitely don't mix. Every place I went felt like I was in a sauna. You know, they use that drug to shrink pituitary tumors! My word. So, if you hear about a doc getting shot in Alabama, I did it! LOL k

Yes, I've had that sometimes during the second half of my cycle. It was hard for my dh to understand. That's one thing that has gotten better now that my hormones are winding down.

Yes...there are times when I can't stand anything to touch me, even the sheets on the bed. It's indescribable and very annoying. It just makes my skin crawl and I feel claustrophic.

Glad, I'm not the only one. I wonder why this happens?

oh haven't you heard?

It's cause our bodies are designed that way and we should be excited about this time in our lives, what with the sweating and weirdness and all that. Oh yeah, it should be the time of our lives...we just endure this small time, course it usually lasts for several years, and then we can just let it all go.

Oh yeh...I'm completely thrilled.

I've been using tampons for years with no problem. Lately though, I have noticed them not staying put like they used to. I'm also having a harder time putting them in then I used to. I do sometimes have lighter periods now.

Any ideas as to why? Anyone else experiencing this?

Could be your bladder has dropped somewhat which would "push" the tampon. Sometimes I have a bit of trouble getting it into the right position too and have to do some "manipulation" to get it placed right.

The old battleaxe decided to come along on the train trip with me. She showed up just as I was waking up Tuesday morning and stayed for the duration of the trip. She seems to have left now. I don't miss her. I hate uninvited company.

I have an appt with gyno on July 16, I am flooding again and I just want it stopped. I can't continue doing this, I never know when I'm going to start (went 2 months without this time), I can't feel comfortable going anywhere when I'm on because of the fear of flooding, going through ultra tampons every 2 hours...just want to not ever have a period again.

Hi girls, I am almost 43 and for the past 8 weeks have been dealing with headaches like I have never experienced before. I suspect, although not confirmed yet, are migraines due to a hormonal imbalance. I am today recovering from what I consider my third(and worst) "episode". The headaches are occuring exactly three weeks apart, lasting 8-10 days, quit and then I begin my period. I am also being treated for a urinary infection. Doing research, I have learned this is common among women entering into perimenopause/menopause. As a child I suffered with UTI but at 18 had laproscopic surgery and have not been plaqued with an infection since. UNTIL NOW! Has anyone experienced the migraines, UTI, such as this. I welcome your opinions. I do go back to the dr. in one month, they want me to "wait" and see if I have another headache in the mean time. Not alot of help there from them, so would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks, Melissa

Ummm... in defense of the doctors... sometimes they need to sit and wait to be sure there is a link between 2 things. Or would you rather them treat you inappropriately?

I am really sorry that you're having such severe headaches. How debilitating are they? Is it possible that it's a trigger from something else (food/drink/heat etc).

agapetos, no need to defend the doctor, in no way was I trying to be ugly in reference to having to wait. And, No, of course, I would not wish to be treated innapropriately. However, I am human and I wasnt seen by the doctor as I had hoped to be. It was by a PA so that was alittle frustrating. No blood drawn, no tests, just kinda left hanging, I felt and yes the pain is debilitating. It sent me to the hospital three nights ago. Do you deal with headaches and such? This is what I was hoping to discuss.Thanks. Melissa

Melissa, if you've only be seen by a PA can you not go back NOW and ask to be seen by a doctor? Given you've had cause to go to a hospital you shouldn't have to wait with no treatment. Personally, I'd be pushing things further.

I don't deal with headaches related to my cycle (at least not clearly related) but I do deal with severe headaches (which fortunately don't last too long) and sometimes migraines ~ both of which can knock me out (so I can at least sympathise with you on that point).

How much water are you drinking? Not sure where you live, but most places are heating up right now with summer here and dehydration can be a factor in headaches (when I get one, I try and remember how much water I've drunk in the past few days). Too much caffiene may affect you as well ~ sometimes we can become more sensitive to things through our cycle.

There is medication that you can take to relieve the pain of severe headaches and migraines. It's pointless me suggesting anything though because it's probably not sold under the same name and/or may require prescription.

If you are able, do try a quietened and darkened room where you can lay down. You may not want to eat, but it's worth attempting to eat a little light soup/broth (I go for chicken generally) which will also help with your fluid intake.
