I don't mean to sound judgmental and hope I don't. It's just what I believe for myself.

I tried the progesterone cream and it made me feel jittery and angry. I've always reacted that way to progesterone.

great...I need to be more angry and jittery - my husband will be so pleased.

My doctor mentioned the cream and we tried it for a bit, but it didn't seem to be doing what she expected it to do, so I stopped using it.

Yeah, that's the way I felt about it too. I just wanted to put the warning out because I've heard of at least one other person who reacted that way to progesterone. Since people take it to reduce menopausal symptoms, they may think the emotions are coming from menopause and not the medication.

If it works for someone, that's great. It just made me not even want to be around myself.

Yeah, Larry keeps asking me when this will be over. I wish I knew. I try to keep a lid on it but I still feel the feelings.

If it gives you any hope, I have more good days than bad now. I've also found that exercise, really hard, push till you want to drop exercise, helps me with the moods.

What about OTC herbal products and/or vitamins, has anyone had success with this concerning the migraines. I have two weeks to go before I am seen by my clinic. They gave me a prescription for Tramadol to help with my pain. This has not helped me. I am like at my wit's end here because the pain can be debilitating. What, if anything, have you tried and has proven helpful in minimizing the migraine headaches?

I wonder if the migraines are related to what you are eating. A lot of women find that they have some food sensitivities (stomach upsets, diarrhea) just before their period that they don't normally have. You may have been fine in the past but have now developed this sensitivity.

Just a thought...

Well, I had company tonight and it looks like they're staying the night, maybe even longer. Guess who came to visit? Yep, you guessed it, my least favorite relatives, Aunt Flo and Uncle TOM!

Hope it's a short one.

(Did I mention that I have a quirky, weird sense of humor?)

The dr gave me Tramadol for my knee, it doesn't work for me either. I'd have to take it with 3 advils. When I told him he gave me darvocet. I can't see that helps either but it did help my headache.

Hey Kath, you might want to be careful about the darvocet. The FDA has some safety concerns about it and other medications containing a certain ingredient.

Thank you Melissa! It looks as if it's a recent warning, just a few days.

I am very careful to only take one pill, and only at night. I don't take it with Advil or Tylenol or any other pain medication. Some days I'd like to when the knee pain is too great but I grew up hearing about Karen Quinlan so I won't even have an adult beverage if I need a pain pill.

Switch it to Darvon. Leaves out the acetomeniphen

Right about now, I think I could get in a fist fight. And win

Anyone else ever get that way?

Frequently... however, mine is due to bipolar, not menopause...

Kath, I don't want to ever use any type of HRT either.

Kate, do you mean it's not normal to feel that way?

You trying to pick a fight?

Kate, I didn't know Darvon and Darvocet were about the same drug till I read the literature Melissa linked to. I wonder if there is enough Tylenol in there to hurt my kidneys.

It's your liver you need to worry about with Tylenol.

I knew it was some organ or another. I only take one a day, but not every day.

Out of control eyebrows were mentioned earlier in this thread. I've been plucking, but my brows were getting awfully thin because of it. I just bought an eyebrow trimmer and I think it's a better alternative. It cuts off the "curls", but still leaves me some of the brow. Now I understand why some older ladies had penciled in brows. Oh, the things we learn as we get older.

You should be fine then as long as you aren't taking anything else with acetaminophen (Tylenol) in it. The problem was that folks didn't know the drug was in other things and were unintentionally overdosing.

yep...brushing them up and then trimming the edges is much better than plucking.

Whenever I have a date with Miss Clairol, I use an old mascara wand to put color on my eyebrows, too. Yep, I look pretty silly for about 30 minutes, but then I don't have to color in my eyebrows for about 3-4 weeks.

Because of scars from a dog bite when I was eight, I never tweeze my eyebrows. I have been trimming them for a few years though.
