Thought I'd tell of an incident with meaning only to me, I suppose..........lol.
This year I have been building a garden, landscaping my property, etc. etc.
First of all, I give thanks that I have the strength and the motivation to do this.
For the last several years I have had no energy and definitely no motivation.
But last night, as I was installing a water hydrant near our pool so the wife
wouldn't have to wag a heavy water hose across the yard when needed, I
could tell there was something burning. I just assumed the neighbors were
burning their trash. When they got over to our fence line, I could see that
they were burning out the fence rows. You'd just have to see it................lol.
Anyway, just that day I continued a conversation with the LORD as before
that it would be nice if He would put it in their heart to clean out the dead man
area between our property. Shortly after we bought the land, they moved the
fence ten or fifteen feet over on our side. I give the benefit that they must have
had it surveyed and moved the fence. I'm not one of those "the fence has been
here forever and I'll take you to court." I do believe they moved it where the
surveyor said it should be.
Any how, they didn't take out the old fencing and it's turned into a bug collecting
jungle between us. But like I said, I told the LORD I had confidence that He could
give them a desire to clean out the dead-man alley between us, and lo and behold
there they were with what ever means they were using, burning the front of their
property and part of the area between us. I'll be moving stuff away from the fence
to see if they finish the job.............lol.
So, I give thanks that the Father cares about our little desires as much as our big
desires. And it will definitely give the neighbors kids a better quality place to live
and play. And my garden may get more sun during the day...............lol.
But most of all, my real thankfulness is to have my name in the Lamb's Book of Life.
