Thank you God for having 3 of my friends I haven't heard from for awhile telling me they also have been saved this year.

Thank You God for bringing me here to these Sisters and Brothers of mine that will pray for me when needed and Thank You for supplying all this Spiritual Food for us.

I thank Him most of all for breaking both of my legs horribly, as the shepherd did with his staff (or rod), to wayward sheep Psalm 23:4.. (always wondered why a shepherd would need both)
If you look upon your daily reading as a chore, and not a pleasure, as I did before, a little comforting chastisement does wonders for the attitude, to make you appreciative of Him, and stop the relationship from becoming 'familial' as opposed to formal/spiritual, as it is supposed to be. Mthw 12 46 - 50.
And the shepherd carries the sheep after he breaks its leg, as the flock moves. Amazing how He works it all out...

This post reminded me of when I had something akin to a nervous breakdown a good many years ago, that literally drove me to my knees, crying out to God. I wouldn't have done that without that experience, and that experience has left its mark on me, and on my relationship with Jesus in such a powerful way that today, I wouldn't trade it for anything. You are right that we need to be thankful even for the negative things, because God is at work in them, too, and God is good.

I suffered with Bipolar Disorder as well as a cutting disorder for over 15 years. I lost my marriage, my children, and very nearly my life. I ended up in a little church one night and God reached down and healed me in an instant. He restored my marriage, healed our family's broken hearts, and gave us a baby who would grow up free of those memories. There were times when I questioned why I had to go through all of that if He was just going to heal me anyway. Today I feel just like you, and I know that the experience made me realize that God was real, and that He loved me more than I could ever have imagined. I wouldn't trade that knowledge for anything.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalm 23:4
I am thankful for GOD, for His rod and staff.
I am thankful for Jesus in whom I have victory, that every knee shall bow before His Name.
I am thankful for the Holy Spirit who is with me during the trials, tribulations and troubles in my life.
I am thankful that God brings beauty from ashes. He is Life.
I am thankful that God is Almighty, that He who is in me is greater than he who is in the world.
I am thankful that He loves me so much He uses the bad times and He blesses me, He refines me, He strengthens me.
I am thankful that He gives me lips to praise Him even in the valley.
I praise Him for He is not like man.
I praise Him for He always was, is and is yet to come. For He is GOD from everlasting to everlasting.
To GOD be the glory now and forever.
