I have waxed both seriously and clownishly about Barack Obama’s “Cotton Candy Candidacy” and the fact that his nebulously formed ideas make him something of an empty suit when it comes to trying to figure out where he stands on many issues.
I have also pointed out that this is deliberate obfuscation on his part, done in order to hide his liberal past. Indeed, there is no candidate in recent memory who has taken such pains to see that his political philosophy remains a cipher – a razor thin record in the Illinois Senate along with almost as invisible U.S. Senate votes are carefully hidden away in the campaign’s attic, gone and mostly forgotten in the rush to proclaim the candidate The Agent of Change.
He’s a slippery fish  , this fellow Obama. Controversial votes when he was a state senator were avoided by voting “present” or claiming later that he erred by pressing the wrong button and didn’t really mean to take that position. Seen in the context of the “Great Game” the Left plays with the American people in trying to mask their liberalism for fear of rejection by the voter, Obama, it turns out, is a master of “post partisan problem solving” – hiding his liberalism under an avalanche of platitudes and feel-good bromides that have his supporters swooning and the media eating out of his hand.

Buckley, Jr., founder of National Review magazine and long-time host of the "Firing Line" television program, made Wednesday "a very sad day for a lot of people" who remembered the 82-year-old author and commentator as "the father of the modern conservative movement."
William F. Buckley, Jr."I'm devastated to report that our dear friend, mentor, leader and founder -- William F. Buckley, Jr. -- died overnight in his study in Stamford, Connecticut," National Review Online Editor Kathryn Jean Lopez posted on the magazine's Web site Wednesday morning.
Buckley, who had suffered from diabetes and emphysema for more than a year, "died while at work," Lopez said. "If he had been given a choice on how to depart this world, I suspect that would have been exactly it: at home, still devoted to the war of ideas."

American Family Association (AFA) and The Inspiration Networks (INSP) are excited about the premiere of their joint project titled Speechless ... Silencing the Christians. Speechless is a TV series that exposes the reality of America's anti-Christian bias and urges believers to put an end to the silence.
The series will air as 13 half-hour episodes on three different networks beginning next month. It will debut on INSP Saturday, March 1, at 8:30 p.m. (EST) and i-Lifetv (digital) Friday, March 7, at 9:30 p.m. (EST). Speechless will also air on the Inspiration Network International, which broadcasts in Europe, the Middle East and northern Africa.

The Boy Scouts of America is praising Texas Governor Rick Perry for authoring a book supporting the Scouts and their values.
Perry's book is titled On My Honor: Why the American Values of the Boy Scouts Are Worth Fighting For. Bob Bork, Jr., a spokesman for the Boy Scouts of America, is pleased that the former Scout has taken such a public stance in defending the values of scouting. Perry also came to the defense of the Scout's policy that prohibits homosexuals from scouting or serving as Scout leaders.
"Since its inception in 1910, the Boy Scouts has believed that open homosexuality is inconsistent with the values it wants to communicate through its leaders," Bork notes. "Scouting parents and sponsoring organizations share that belief -- and the Boy Scouts of America has a constitutional right to provide a youth organization for families who share those values." HAMILTON — A Hamilton man on the run for two years after being charged in connection with the rape of a child has pleaded guilty to that crime.
Louis Bonilla, 30, originally from El Salvador, entered the plea Monday, Feb. 25, before Butler County Common Pleas Judge Noah Powers. He faces up to 10 years in jail and is scheduled to be sentenced April 1.
In June 2005, Bonilla, formerly of Timberline Drive, was charged with rape for alleged sexual conduct with a 10-year-old girl who was known to him. He was arraigned in Hamilton Municipal Court and then posted bond but did not return for a scheduled court appearance.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has decided not to run for the U.S. presidency, he said in the New York Times, ending long-running speculation that he could launch a challenge as an independent candidate.
"I listened carefully to those who encouraged me to run, but I am not and will not be a candidate for president," Bloomberg said in an opinion article in Thursday's newspaper.
It was Bloomberg's most categorical statement that he will not compete in the November election against the Democratic and Republican nominees.

A student-run magazine at UCLA has revealed an undercover investigation in which representatives of Planned Parenthood, the nation's abortion industry leader, admitted willingness to accepting a financial donation targeting the destruction of an unborn black baby.
Lila Rose, who edits The Advocate, previously revealed how Planned Parenthood officials expressed a willingness to conceal statutory rape, an investigative piece that earned her an appearance on the Fox News Channel's "The O'Reilly Factor."

The Jewish State of Israel may not be perfect, it is however a flowering garden of civility, democracy and human rights in a desert filled with Arab-Muslim oppressive dictatorships, who deny their people basic human and religious rights and fundamental freedoms to its minorities-such as freedom of speech, press, and assembly. Given Israel's circumstances - being surrounded by hostile Arab states (and Arab-Palestinians) who seek its destruction through war and endless cycles of terrorism, Israel's record of maintaining its democracy and working to insure human rights and freedoms for all is remarkable.
For the United Methodist Church (UMC) and other mainline Protestant churches, however, Israel is deserving of criticism and punishment. On April 23, 2008, when the UMC will hold its Quadrennial General Conference in Fort Worth, Texas, divestment from companies that do business with Israel will be on the agenda.
Susanne Hoder, a member of the UMC's New England Conference Divestment Task Force, led an informational gathering on the Middle East last June. It was intended to provide participants with the opportunity to "learn how companies profit from Israel's illegal occupation of Palestinian lands, and examine the impact of occupation on Israeli and Palestinian society." Hoder expects to update the New England Conference on Bethlehem, Jerusalem and Gaza, and discuss apartheid in Israel and the occupied territories, and how organizations including churches, municipalities and Jewish groups are using economic measures to end it.

For every Obama supporter who has written me criticizing me for statements I've made in so many previous outlets they would be impossible to tally - OBAMA likey the GAY MARRIAGE. He has issued a written statement saying to the homosexual elite radicals that he will REPEAL the National Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). And that on the issue of redefining the institution by which ALL of society has been built upon he would allow state by state any jolly perverted idea or arrangement that can be signed into law to take place.
I also believe that the federal government should not stand in the way of states that want to decide on their own how best to pursue equality for gay and lesbian couples — whether that means a domestic partnership, a civil union, or a civil marriage. Unlike Senator Clinton, I support the complete repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) – a position I have held since before arriving in the U.S. Senate. While some say we should repeal only part of the law, I believe we should get rid of that statute altogether.
And when I wrote in the late part of 2006 that Barack Obama was using Rick Warren, access to his pulpit, congregation, and conference for the implied benefit of "Christian" bonafides, Obama has proven me right, and Rick Warren wrong - AGAIN!

Even many pundits who viscerally understand these men, like Chris Matthews, have recently misperceived what motivates this bloc's choice between Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama.
This past weekend, on his weekly Sunday morning show, Matthews asked writer Gloria Borger: "Is there a resistance to an African-American candidate by white men? Is there resistance to Hillary?"

The niece of Martin Luther King, Jr., has used an appearance at a Black History Month event in Washington, DC, to reject the claim that her famous uncle supported abortion rights for women.
Dr. Alveda King says although her uncle -- the late civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr. -- accepted an award from Planned Parenthood in 1966, the abortion group had a "hidden agenda" at the time. "I don't want anybody to be confused by thinking that Dr. King could condone the violent death of the little babies, and the violent consequences that women suffer," King clarifies. "I'm post-abortive myself. I've suffered ... and it was a secret in my family for too long. And so now we’re here today to speak out on behalf of those who cannot speak for themselves. Abortion is a racist, genocidal act."
King was one of several black pro-life leaders who met in Washington yesterday to celebrate their ethnicity and decry abortion and its disproportionate effect on blacks. And during a news conference at the Family Research Council, Dr. Johnny Hunter, president of the Life Education and Resource Network, predicted that at some point in America abortion would be abolished, just like slavery and Jim Crow laws.

Other journalists were only slightly more subtle. “Many experts warn, it’s too little, too late,” NBC’s Jim Miklaszewski argued on the January 8, 2007 Nightly News. The next morning on NBC’s Today, the network’s graphic describing Iraq was “Lost Cause?”
At the same time, leading Democrats left themselves no wiggle room as they, too, denounced the surge. Senator Barack Obama called it “wrong-headed” and countered with a proposal to pull nearly all U.S. troops out of Iraq by March 2008. Senator Hillary Clinton came back from a quick trip to Iraq to declare: “I am opposed to this escalation,” while another Democratic candidate, Senator Joe Biden, blasted the troop surge as “a tragic mistake.”

We realize that one of the Canadian networks mentioned yesterday that such a call had been made. The report is untrue."
When asked whether Ambassador Michael Wilson, the Canadian emissary to the U.S., had received a call from anyone in the Obama campaign, Lemay said he had not.

When the Gallup pollsters asked Americans what they thought about their own mental health, they were intrigued by the difference between Democrats and Republicans.
While 58 percent of Republicans reported having excellent mental health, only 38 percent of Democrats described themselves that way.
The study was no surprise to D. Lyle H. Rossiter, Jr., a noted psychiatrist and author of a controversial book that makes the clinical case liberalism is a mental illness.

Police Investigate Las Vegas Ricin Scare
LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- Police say there is no indication of any link to terrorist activity involving the discovery of the deadly poison ricin that was found in a hotel room near the Las Vegas Strip.
Seven people were sent to the hospital to be tested for poisoning, including three officers who first responded to the 911 call. All seven people are fine and have been released from the hospital. There was also a dog and two cats found in the room. The cats survived, but the dog had to be put down because of starvation.
What is Ricin?
The room belonged to a man who had been admitted to the hospital on Feb. 14 with breathing problems. That man is now in critical condition and police sources say he has slipped into a coma. Police say they don't think foul play is involved however they are still investigating why the man had ricin in his room.

Yet, with America's press convinced that the United States' reputation has plummeted along with its dollar since George W. Bush was elected, it seems quite unlikely such revelations will see the light of day on this side of the Pond.

Much is being made of Barack Obama’s oratory skills. True, he is quite good when it comes to captivating a crowd of sycophants and this includes the lemmings in the mainstream media. But if words matter, as Obama (and surreptitiously Duval Patrick) claims they do, then we must acknowledge that in this case words do make the man, in this case Mr. Obama must be judged in his words and in the deeds that back up those words.
Ironically, I agree with Mr. Obama when he says that words matter. One of the harshest criticisms I have had of the Bush Administration is that communication between the presidency and the American people has been, at best, horrible. While I can lay much of the blame on a hateful mainstream media who wouldn’t cover the White House if it was on fire, a gaggle of journalistic abortions hell-bent on achieving an anti-Bush/anti-Republican agenda, so too blame must be laid at the feet of an administration that failed to use all the tools available to the bully pulpit to get its message across.
Words do matter. In a society that has grown so delinquent in teaching its populace critical thinking skills, words – and the choice of words – have become the upper-tier chess pieces in the tactical game of attaining and holding on to power. Of course, this is nothing new.
