I said that I don't allow them to have these shoes. I think this is rude and inappropriate behavior. I have seen kids run over little old ladies in the store, while mom or dad just stand there and watch. WHy do we need this??

We have shoes, and we have skates.

Quite frankly, if I had a pair of heelies, I would not be able to resist the urge to skate everywhere. I love to skate. I skate in the house. My kids skate in the house. So to keep the two activities separate, we aren't going to get heelies for the kids, and they don't seem to mind since we skate all the time anyway.

I have also seen rude and careless behavior by kids on heelies. I wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't that they often put themselves and others in harm's way. Kids don't process risk very well, which is what parents are for, but even parents sometimes don't care what the kids are doing as long as the kids are out of their hair.
