Rachel, your arms are sooooo toned though! You can see the definition in your tiny avatar. Is that from lifting weights or babies?

My body sure looks a lot better after Jimmy then it did after Timmy. I got more stretchmarks as a teen than I did with my babies, so that didn't matter much. And, my hubby has always been a chubby chaser, so my weight doesn't bug me or him. LOL

When a woman is first pg in the first trimester her breasts prepare for nursing and the mamary glands can cause the breast to stretch and the muscle fibers that once kept them perky to stretch and break down...thus flabby boobies after the baby comes or nursing stops...for me anyway.

Yup, pretty much!

Babies, I guess! And some push mowing and carrying feed, etc. I was surprised to see my arm look like that in the picture. I think it's mostly the way I'm holding Isabel (she's a CHUNK!) they probably don't look like that all the time, LOL!

Okay, I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

It's happened a few times since I had Jadon. I wasn't sure what was happening until this past weekend, but I 'think' my bladder relaxes and I pee myself. Literaly I'll be standing there and then GUSH it just comes. I can't stop it. It trips me out! The last time it happened I looked and my pad was yellow and smelled sweet so I'm thinking it must be pee! I can't believe it!

Haha, welcome to post-partum life. It took me a good 3-4 months before I stopped leaking in the middle of the night when I would get a drink of water or make a bottle. Do lots of Kegals, it will help.

Jae: My son is 13 months old and I am still having issues. It is much better than it was 6 months ago, but I am afraid I am going to have to live with it.

It literaly just gushed out? Where you couldn't stop it? It's only happened about 3-4 times in the last 7 weeks, but each time it's shocking. The last time it was BAD. Thank God I was at home because it leaked everywhere.

yup kegals kegals kegals....sometimes labor and delivery is just too hard on your muscles and you have to exercise them to get them taught again. After I had Hannah was the worst for me...it was months before I could adequately assess that I needed to pee and had enough time to get to the bathroom. I even wore my maternity jeans for a long time afterward because jeans I had to mess with fasteners on was just too time consuming...lol

Wow. It's a trip to not have control over your bladder. Glad to hear that I'm not alone.

I am still like that I will get the sudden "have to go now or I will pee myself" urge, but nothing else. And it still took me 6-7 weeks pp until I had that urge back.

Laura, have you been evaluated for bladder prolapse? When my OB checked my rectocele he also checked for uterine/cervical and bladder prolapse. One of the major signs is incontinence issues.

LOL...yeah. I have always had problems in that area anyway....my bladder is small...I was diagnosed as a child with what they call "juvenile bladder"...it is small basically...Anyway, after having a baby it can sometimes take me a few months to get back to just the normal for me...however normal for me is still that I don't get much warning that I have to pee. If I have to pee then I have to pee...NOW...and if I don't go then, I won't make it. It is much worse after a baby though....lol

Janine...did you have a catheter put in while in labor?

Kegals, kegals, kegals, like everyone else has said. I think I've been fortunate because this is the first pregnancy I have had leaking issues. Never had them postpartum either. But it seems this time around, I can't get to the bathroom fast enough! I've started keeping extra undies in there now, even though it's just a tiny bit that I leak.

Yeah, probably, but then I worry about yeast infections. I'm prone to them, and with summer coming...it needs to breathe. LOL

Whats so weird for me is it's more than leaking, but rare. When it happens my bladder just releases/floods out. It's the strangest thing! The last time it happened was this weekend. I was in the bathroom with Jadon (getting him ready for a bath) when it just happened. I was so shocked that I just kept yelling, "oh my god" as I tried to get to the toilet in time. I didn't and that's when I looked at my pantiliner and realized it had to be pee because it was full and yellow.

And, yes, I had a catheter.

Try going to the bathroom more often, Jae.

I had 2 catheters, I have no doubt they are half my problem

I had a catheter during labor and also to drain me quickly toward the end of pushing. I never had issues afterward with gushing or not being able to control my bladder. I did have times when I would have slight leaking, but never uncontrollable gushing. I don't do kegels because I never can figure out if I am using the right muscles. I have tried the whole "stop the flow of pee", but I think I am thinking to hard because I can never do it when I try on purpose...if that makes sense.

LOL, just kidding, I know how to do kegals, so no worries.

I do have the incontinence issue too. Especially if I'm running water for something!

Hmm...does this issue get worse with each birth? I am fine after Hunter which was a hard labor so maybe I will be fine after the next...hoping so!

Oh, I totally gotcha on the PM Sarah, and I will try that !

I've just had my third baby and so far I have not had any bladder issues. So it doesn't happen to everyone.

and no it doesn't necessarily get worse after each birth....it is different after each one. Like I said, the worst for me was after baby #2...the others I have had to do kegals to get back to pre-pregnancy, but it wasn't as bad as after #2.
