4 days....
37,000 acres of surface area on the lake, levels have risen 8 feet in 4 days to nearly full pool, had to move our dock twice in the past 2 days. We've come from an all time low above sea level of 1053.14, to 1062 four days ago, to 1067.01 as of 10:30 PM Monday... and still rising. http://lanier.uslakes.info/Level.asp
Incredible weather system has dumped more rain than ever, it's broken ALL known and recorded flooding records. I guess it's a good thing the lake was still suffering nearly 10 feet below full pool coming out of a sever drought, because the people down stream would REALLY be hurting if the dam gates had to be opened.

And raining again! I've moved our dock 4 times in the past 3 days!
Good drought bustin' rain, and the lake is nearly FULL!

Lake Erie can easily change at least six feet depending on which way the wind blows. The marina has floating docks, which is wonderful because you don't even have to adjust your lines.

Well, our water level depends on how much raw sewage Atlanta has spilled and needs to flush down stream.

Went out on the lake today, burned nearly a tank of gas just cruising and looking. It looks so pretty when full and the water is still 73 degrees, so it's still good for a swim when the Sun is high. What a fun day, now gotta get ready for *ork. Too many files, too many foreclosures, finishing up negotiating a contract, got a closings this week, and some court cases in the middle for fun.

Glad that you've still got some season left to enjoy. Our highs this week are supposed to be in the low 60's. I love that kind of weather.

My wife hates it and is not looking forward to the cold weather of winter approaching. I enjoy the fact that I'm not sweating for a change. How we got together, I'll never know. Our cofort zones don't overlap. I'm enjoying the wonderful cool breeze. She's wishing the heat was on already.

Taking the kids camping this weekend. Was supposed to be last weekend, but the rain came and filled up the lake instead. I can't wait.... gonna tell them all the stories of the "red eye coyote", "one armed Creek Indian ghost", and what ever else we can make up. Let the fire die down a little, then get up and say... have it kids! Uncle Jim and I are gonna sleep in the cabin on the beds, our old backs can't do tent sleeping anymore.

No snipe, but we did shoot skeets. 10 year old nephew got a new single shop 10-4, and we all took a trip down memory lane getting ready for dove season.

The Detroit Tigers have a last-ditch effort tonight to make the playoffs in a tie-breaker game with the Minnesota Twins. Up until recently, the Tigers have been the lead in their division. But they've blown that lead and now must face the Twins in an away-game. A straw poll of the people at w*** this morning revealed that most of them felt that the Tigers will probably lose...a vote of no-confidence based on their inability to win games when they have needed the win.

To make things more dramatic, Miguel Cabrera, our first baseman, has been involved in a drunken domestic dispute. While no charges have been filed, it is distracting to the team and himself.

The Tigers put up a good fight, but it wasn't enough. It was an awsome game, going 12 innings and lasting almost five hours. Sure, I could complain about the officiating, but I won't.

The Twins deserved a well-earned victory, and good for them. They're in a much better position to defend the division. The Tigers would have gone nowhere in the playoffs. What a fantastic way to close out the old homer-dome with a dramatic win in a close game for the home team.

And I could second-guess the head coach and when he decides to pull a pitcher, but I'm not going to. The fact is that it has been a wonderful season for the Tigers, and I should rejoice in that.

It was a good game. But the Tigers had too many opportunities to win, and they just let it go. Typical Tigers fashion.

Yep, they had plenty of opportunities with men on base and just couldn't capitalize on it. At least they were hitting and it wasn't a blow-out.

And I think that Jackson just needs a rest. He'll be back in good form again next year. Hopefully Inge will get his knees straightened out (so to speak) and be back ready to play in the spring.

So I've been busy lately. W***king overtime at work because one of our plants is down for maintenance. I've been w***ing ten hours per day, six days per week. They just started offering overtime on Sunday too because we're so far behind, but I have obligations at church.

We're a little over half-way through our maintenance outage with a couple weeks to go. This weekend we'll have company at home through Tuesday. And Tuesday is the monthly soup kitchen that I'm in charge of. So I'm taking off Saturday through Tuesday and that will be a welcome relief from the OT.

A couple more weeks and we'll be back to the usual, which is w***ing most Saturdays. I'm getting too old for this stuff.

Enjoying the fall "leaf season" here. Been working so darn hard, so many files and so many court cases coming up to testify as an expert witness... I needed a weekend off. We enjoyed a little time on our own lake Saturday, took a boat ride up river to the natural undisturbed national forest. Then went to visit Grandpaw/Grandmaw in the mountain on their lake today, Sunday. Hiked up to a couple of local water falls, and took a looooong boat ride up the lake around the mountains. Beautiful time of the year, the mountains are God's canvas at this time of the year. Feel a bit more ready to tackle the mountain lion problems on Monday.

That does sound beautiful.

We're just about peak color right now. Usually by Halloween it's past-peak. Typically Halloween is cold and rainy, with leaves falling fast off the trees.

Leaves are dropping really fast here. Got rain coming in, so I'd bet most will be knocked off by this weekend. All of the neighbors have cleaned up their lawns and I was just going to wait, too busy with work and it gets dark at 7pm now. Hey, every neighborhood has a redneck who doesn't keep up his yard. One of my wife's students stopped by and wanted to do the yard, doesn't have a job and wants gas money. So I figure what the heck, I'll give him a bit to vacuum the leaves with my Snapper. If he's still around come Summer, I guess I've got a good lawn boy.

Yes sir. Well... she started out as a Learning Disabilities (LD teacher) in 1993, but is now in Administration as the Department Head of the LD department. A mighty big job, I'm proud of her.

Hi sloneboy and welcome to the garage.

Sounds like you've got a lot on your mind. Wanna talk some more about it? Tell me about the relationship problem. What's God telling you to do?

Ray, I wanted to drop a line and say see ya' later Gator... maybe this Spring I'll drop in.
Work has me going crazy as I've started another new business to diversify our family business and I don't have time to play on forums. This forum seems to have more Spyware than ever lately, one visit has infected my new computer. And this forum had just become too weird and negative for me. It seems to have attracted all of the crazies looking for online psych help, just read some of the posting in the Marriage folder. Anyway, if you get down yonder this way holler at me. It'd be an honor to buy you a beer or two. mazal tov
