I was sad to see Brooke go, because I had liked her from the beginning, however I thought Sayesha has been doing better lately. I think Jason will make it to the top 3. I was a little bummed that noone sang Song sung blue (I think that's the title.)I love that song.

It's kinda sad to see so many nasty comments about Brooke. She wasn't all that bad. I've seen worse attitudes on past shows. And I'd rather see and hear her than David A for sure. I don't understand the judges' infatuation with a kid who performs like he's the last person cast in the high school play and considers urban yodeling changing a song. There really hasn't been a shocking moment this year, and you know they have to have at least one, so look for one of the David's to go next week.

There really hasn't been a shocking moment this year, and you know they have to have at least one, so look for one of the David's to go next week. I don't think folks are meaning to be nasty - I think Brooke's constant drama and pouty faces got to be distracting and disturbing, and this is what is showing in the comments from everyone. I was very relieved to see Brooke go - and I expected her exit to be just as dramatic as it was last night. I'm with you about David A - the wonderchild/savant is beginning to wear on all of us - minus the teenyboppers, lol. I think you are right about a "shock" elimination - I'm just hoping it's David A that exits, not David C... And I'm wondering what exactly David A can pull off that will be anywhere near rock & roll instead of his usual happy-go-lucky ballads... I could so see him performing on a cruise ship as the main act of the night - or on Broadway. I just don't think he is "Idol" material that will produce and sell a lot of albums, ya know? David C, Syesha and Jason all show more promise in that field, in my opinion. quote:
ORIGINAL: Wayfaring_Stranger quote:
ORIGINAL: wareaglekd Why did David C push on her to move forward? It all was a bit strange. My feeling was that he touched her in an effort to comfort her but then pulled back top let her finish the song. All of them seemed like they didn't know quite what to do when they came down with her. I'm not sure I would have known how to act either. As dramatic as she tended to be, I think her exact reaction at that time was a huge unknown, ya know? I loved Neil Diamond's song last night! It's really great to see so many performers praising God in their songs lately!

Did Neil Diamond's song have Christian lyrics? Is he a Christian? I wasn't able to hear most of the words because my son was talking to me.

Well, I did say that Brooke would probably have a nervous breakdown if she stayed on any longer. I guess we shouldn't be surprised at her falling apart. I've always wondered about Neil's background as well. His music leads you to believe that, but who knows. The song, "Solitary Man" is based on that fact that he struggles w/ marriage, so he chooses to be alone. But, I guess that doesn't mean anything. I wish I had heard the whole song. My mom called me to find out how to spell "errand". She always calls me at the wrong times! Seeing as Amazing Grace was in the title, I assumed that some of the lyrics would lead you to think that. I noticed that about Jason too. He does seem rather distant from the other contestants. But, he is 21. My son is 21 & he's pretty distant these days. I think it just comes w/ maturity. I think David A just follows David C's lead. Does it feel like the season is going by fast, or is it just me? kd

David A and rock-n-roll - doesn't exactly sound like a good match for him. But, he could probably swing a song from Journey or something close to that (I didn't look at the list yet). David C should be right at home and maybe even Jason will find something that showcases whatever talent he has, too. Syesha might have a difficult time. David C was my favorite from day one...but I know any one of them could go at any time now.

I don't understand the judges' infatuation with a kid who performs like he's the last person cast in the high school play and considers urban yodeling changing a song. I was thinking along those same lines. Yes, many contestants get a record deal simply for being in the Top 10. How many of those people can you name, though? How many winners can you name? There's a huge difference. I admire people who are competitive enough to want to win, as long as they don't cheat. Therefore, I don't think she was wrong to cry, even if she was deluded in thinking she could have won. All the contestants put in a huge amount of effort each week, and as we've seen with some, that can be physically and mentally exhausting. Actually, I would think it weird if a female contestant didn't at least tear up when she got eliminated. As for attitude, two words: Scott and Danny. Remember the vitriol Scott used to get? Remember how everybody was carping about Danny just a few weeks ago? Although she was annoying, Brooke didn't hold a candle to them. At least she just gave pouty looks. Too many other contestants actually mouth off. quote:
There really hasn't been a shocking moment this year, and you know they have to have at least one, so look for one of the David's to go next week. The only shocking elimination for me would be David C. Jason has basically been coasting on his reputation throughout this contest, with 1 or 2 exceptions. The same thing for David A.

I find it hard to believe the contestants will have 500 songs to choose from. I'd love to see Syesha do Proud Mary, but the Tina Turner version, not the Creedence Clearwater Revival. Neil was singing about a woman named Grace who he thinks is amazing. Give Brooke a break ... Carly and Syesha sang BEFORE they were voted off ... Brooke sang immediately AFTER. Kind of hard to say to somebody, "You're going home ... America hates you ...now sing for them one last time!"

I was thinking this as well, as I read -- some of the comments have been harsh. I think Brooke is just an emotionally expressive person -- I think she's cried almost every time she's been in the bottom two, so it is no surprise she would when she was voted off.
