I'm the same. I could wash all day and really don't find it that hard a chore, but washing up is the bane of my life. I've been seriously lobbying for a dishwasher in our next house.

Can I pick "working"? Honestly, I don't know how you ladies do it. I know there are women out there who are wonderful mothers AND do a great job working outside the home. But I'm not one of them It's been a month now and I still cry every morning when I leave the house. My work has suffered tremendously and I'm just trying to "survive." I know (well, hope) it gets easier with time, but I'm pretty darn not happy about working right now. It would help if I even marginally enjoyed my job...

You'd think I'd be happier on a Saturday

Spring Break is next week and I am sooooo ready! I know I've only been back for a month after having 2 months off for maternity leave, but my kids have been awful since I"ve been back I usually only sent 2-3 kids to in-school suspension all year. I've sent 4 in the month I've been back. My class averages are usually in the high 80s. I currently have 2 out of 5 classes with averages that are failing. I"m not kidding. I've called more parents in the past 4 weeks than I have in the past 7 years of teaching. I even had a kid get mad at me when I wouldn't tell him an answer to a question on the test. He claims that the sub would have told him and that it's my job to teach him, so I should just tell him the answer Sheesh.

I'm totally ready for a break so I can finally feel "caught up." I used to get to work at 6:30 and stay until 4:00 or 4:30, but now I come in at 7:15 and leave by 4:00 so I can be at home as much as possible. I get to see my little boy a lot more, but it sure makes me stressed and overwhelmed at work! But as a teacher, I have a lot of breaks built in. One more week until Spring Break. Then 11 weeks after Spring Break and it'll be summer... and I'll get 10 weeks off!

Like you Amy, I find it stressful to cram as much work in a shorter day so I can spend as much time home with my baby. This infant time period is so brief and special that I don't want to miss any of it.

Thanks for the prayers, all. I'm on meds and doing better already. I offered an apology to the rest of the support staff in our meeting last week and that seems to have helped smooth things in the office back down. I'm so blessed to work with a group of fellow believers that understand the importance of forgiveness!

I'd like to give up the dishes - just because others in this house like to pile them up on the counter, I feel like 'maid mom' . I told my hubby the other day - I'm not YOUR maid, I'm not Your mother, I'm your wife, and you're 28- so get on the ball.

Oh wow Artemis, sounds like you have had your hands full the past month! if I were you I would be ready for a break, no matter how long you have been back, it is so hard to go back to work after being gone for any long periods of time.

I have been so busy with work the past week , and just life in general, I am taking care of a lot of personal stuff and trying to get things settled around home, but I guess it will take some time and a LOT of prayer.

On a great note though, I have been taking Ava to this new daycare, and it seems to be working out, it's giving me so much more time with her now, and saving me so much money on gas! I am very thankful for that!

anyone have any big plans for spring break? anyone doing spring cleaning?

Bee - that is wonderful that the new daycare is working out and you have more time with Ava.

Our spring break doesn't happen till the week after Easter. I am taking the kids to visit my mom and sister in Florida. It will be a nice break from the weather here in Ohio.

Kat, I am glad to hear things are looking up for you!

Bee, that is great you found such a wonderful daycare.

They sent out an email that they are continuing on with their hiring freeze its been 4-5months that some have been with out help at all... some even more then that and are re-valuating if they need to let go of some that already here...

I want to be a stay at home wife...BIG time. I enjoy my job and all but I would rather be honing my skills as a wife at home.

Fluff, it sounds like times are tough where you work. I'm sorry to hear you have to work harder because they won't fill open positions. Hopefully, they don't need to cut many people.

Oh Jennifer I am sorry, it probably makes work ten times more difficult without any helpers, and just plain old frustrating.

Angie that should be fun with the kids, Florida is always a nice place to vacation (well it depends on where your going) I have only been once, but I enjoyed it.

Bee, we are going to Clearwater, which is just west of Tampa on the Gulf Coast. The beaches are gorgeous. The only thing I don't like is the traffic. People drive too fast and don't pay attention.

Actually I have been luckly to get a whole month of work but after this week... things should go back to normal and my normal varies between 4hrs guarnteed to any day someone needs me... and b/c they aren't hiring anyone I can get full time, although offices can borrow me and I can get hours that way. So I don't know what they are thinking about cutting... It may be in larger offices...maybe even more budget cutting... I am not all that sure yet...

Florida will be nice and warm!

Oh that should be very nice then, I am sure you guys will have a blast! I think I am due in for a vacation pretty soon, but maybe after things at work are not so crazy

Great avatar, Bee!

For our trip to Florida, I purchased a tent that is spf 50. My 10 year old son was testing it out in the living room the other day. I'm so excited about warm weather and sun. Ohio is so gloomy in the winter.

You know - I could make a comment about the REST of the year.

We had DeeDee across the line into Ohio a few years ago and she is still complaining because it is too flat. We went from Erie to Pymatuning on Rt 7 and it was straight and flat. But, she is fine going to a Scrappers game or the mall.

Go figure.

I STILL don't have an offical lay-off date and my boss thinks I should go and ask. I decided I'm not that mean to myself. Besides, I shouldn't be telling my boss, he should be telling me. I said I'd keep showing up until they deactivate my pass.

Angie, Ooooh so your going camping at the beach that is going to be fun :)

Bee, I don't think I would ask either, just let them tell you when... it is their job to tell you anyways...

My boss is coming back next tuesday or wensday and then I already have some one else wanting me to come work for them tuesday/thursday... but hopefully I will get one day to myself :p

I have a date - March 20.

eta

I have a date for tomorrow too. Good looking married fellow is taking me to a dinner. I told him he ought to do that before I ruin my nails doing home improvements.

I told him the waitresses had to bring the food. I had to have the option of an adult beverage and an appetizer that isn't deep-fried and they had to be capable of serving a decent steak.

THIS is the place, in case y'all want to stalk me. It's about an hour from my house, and I drive real fast and know the back roads, so good luck there...

The Tomato Basil Bruschetta sounds lovely! And of course the steaks.

Trishy, I used to work the 3p-11p shift and Larry worked the 7a-3p shift. We didn't see each other much. When I moved to the 11p-7a shift we saw each other more because I slept while he was at work.
