I can't believe I'm reading these two words together! I have practiced this for years now...not meaning to, but when the occasion arises.

Like, if I remember something that I meant to pray about a day earlier, I go ahead and have prayer time about it, even if the event (or whatever) has already taken place. I do this because I know that He knew all along that I was going to be praying, and when.

Yesterday I said that I would pray for you at 5:15 my time so that it would be 6:15 your time.

I'm such a goof! 6:15 your time is 7:15 my time!

At any rate, before I went to bed last night, I "set my alarm."
Now . . . for over the past 20 years, the way I have set my alarm is that I ask Our Lord to wake me up at whatever time I need to get up. Last night, as I was putting in my request for 5:15, I changed that and said, "Please wake me up at whatever time You want me to pray for Sam and Mrs. Qtman.

That time turned out to be 4:00 my time / 3:00 your time. I have prayed for y'all's safe travels and also for Our Lord's Comfort during the flight.

You and Mrs. Qtman have a most wonderful time; come back with at least some of your money and most certainly enjoy that helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon.

I started to also say "get a good tan" . . . but you've already got one of those.

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75-year-old Texas rancher, who had cut himself on a metal gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man.

Eventually the topic got around to Barack Obama and his bid to be our President.

The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, Obama is like a post-turtle.'

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a post-turtle was.

The old rancher drawled, 'Well, when you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a post-turtle.'

Seeing the puzzled look on the doctor's face, the rancher continued: 'You know darn well he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he is up there, and you just want to help the dumb critter get down...







Sam, you may want to taser me for draggin' politics in here, but I just couln't help myself.
