Thank you Lisa for encouraging me to keep posting--from another thread. I wish the GT was a little closer to the west coast. A plane ticket would probably cost a years' pay for me (just kidding). How bout having one over on this end? [:D] I went to a singles conference put on by the Boundaries New Life Guys and there were a lot of singles there... I vote for more singles conferences! I like the cruise idea too!

While I know there are millions of good "available" christian women out there it seems like they are SO hard to find these days. Here I thought it was just me or the area I live in but apparently its all around huh.

Hi folks! O.k. ... I think I have part of our problem figured out... we single gals [sm=longhair.gif] all sort of hangin' out together & the single guys [sm=raisedbrows.gif] are all hangin' out together somewhere else. Our groups are no where near each other so we have no idea that each group exists (thus the "there are no Christian Single women/men here" syndrome). Ha! You have to admit it is kind of humorous! One other thing. I know that this sounds crazy [sm=icon_smile_boggled.gif] but... Church is a fantastic place to meet but could it be that we have so many churches, that a few singles attend each church, making us all spread out & never together in one place. And the 3 singles that attend your church are either (in my case) all women or if by chance they are of the opposite gender then they're a whole lot older or younger than you are... can't win! [sm=popsigh.gif] [sm=icon_smile_question.gif] So unfortunately the same dilemma exists... how to bring us all together in a non-threatening venue? I'm not sure we can come up w/ the 'end all' answer, but in any case prayer is always the best answer... [sm=icon_smile_idea.gif]"Lord, please give us the patience to wait on Your will to be done in our lives! Help us to concentrate more on You & Your word & less on us! Amen"

Christina, you bring up some valid points. My church doesn't seem to have any potentials for me around. They most likely are all spread around. I live in New England where average church size is quite small. I guess we need to find some common place for these single women and single men to meet. I can't come up with a good place to meet, so I will just propose that from now on, all Christian singles meet at their nearest mall by the Orange Julius on Saturday 7 PM. Who's with me? [:)]

I think you nailed it!! Yes, us gals seem to hang out together and the guys seem to hang out together... I notice that happens in the church, too. Believe it or not, there are more guys in my class than there are women. But it almost seems like the guys are on one side of the room and the gals are on the other, and ne'er the twain shall meet. The best thing our group does is have activities outside of church: retreats, picnics, movie nights, trips to St. Augustine, etc. THAT'S where we get to know each other and conversation just happens naturally. Also, I think we have to be open to meeting people in the community. You don't have to date them to find out if they're Christian. Take a class, learn a new hobby, and get to know people. Turn the conversation towards God and see how they respond.

I've seen the whole separating of guys and women at functions, classes, etc. When I see that happening, I always make a point to sit myself amongst the women. Why the other men want to segregate is beyond me. So much nicer to be surrounded by women!
