Interesting... it seems to pick a spot in your town depending on how you entered the name. First time I entered city, state and it plopped the marker down on a beer distributor (!)
Now I just entered the city alone and it picked an intersection in front of a seedy motel.

Maybe if you type in Old English your marker will plant itself in front of a mansion or estate or some such establishment. :)
I love looking at everyone's towns. They all look so different!
Hop over to Google Maps and crosscheck... they have higher resolution. (I can tell I wasn't home when their imagery was taken... my car isn't in the driveway.)
Street View also rocks for the bigger cities. You can virtually "drive" the streets! I "drove" past the house I grew up in in Pittsburgh the other day.
