I agree, we can have an idea of what someone MAY be going through because we sympathize or empathize from our own humanity and personal experiences, but we really are clueless as to what is happening inside others most of the time.
Jesus sees the heart, we see what we see.
Allowing someone to grieve naturally can be the best thing we ever "do" for them... mostly by not doing (ie- trying to soothe the probelm), not saying too much and listening more, etc.
As far as anti-depressants go, using medication that is truly needed is not wrong, but expecting them to take away all of the pain or thinking that they will fix everything is untrue, but they can help some people. Just be well informed if you do go that route.
Grief is part of love... if we didn't love we wouldn't grieve loss. It shows we have a heart and are human. Tears are never a wasted thing if they are sincere.
