I had them when I was in the US and didn't think much of them then. I doubt my feelings will have altered any. My tastes have altered over the years and since I started eating better my taste has changed. There is something just plain about some run-of-the-mill foods. Added to which, I can't help but consider the air miles.

Right now I have a thing about dark chocolate with orange peel. It's only 52%, which is low for me, but it's good Beats Cadbury's and hershey chocolate anyhow!

Status: offline 		I agree about the orange peels and dark chocolate and most sweet treats... but Oreo's are one food I restrict from my home because I abuse them.

Is it the Lindt one?


I do like Cadbury's sometimes, but only in small doses. I will have the odd Creme Egg (though I must confess I *adored* the Border Creme Eggs that Cadbury's did years ago, which were far superior IMO to the ordinary Creme Egg)

Status: offline 		I think I tried an Oreo once when I was in TX because my hostess was raving about them, and I found them way too sweet.

I'm also aware that in the US Oreo is used by some as a slang derogatory term, right?

Status: offline 		The thing about sourdough is you have to have a base that you feed regularly. You don't just "make it." It takes time to ferment the starter and then you have to keep it growing.

I know... and they'd do that (if you gave them enough warning)... it's that kinda place! I've a suspicion they do it already though...

Status: offline 		I am loving my town more and more... we''ve got some really good independant shops ~ they make you feel like long lost friends when you go in, even if you don't buy much or often. We've got a little deli ('little' being the operative word) and it's changed hands a couple of times. The last owner thought a bit much of himself, so I didn't go much, the ones that are in there now are so sweet ~ so ummm... I go as much as I can afford
