Strudel kills germs on apples too.

Oh, I just bought a bag of French toast flavored bagels. They really taste like French toast! YUMM!

You're supporting the debasement of bagels.

First, no maple syrup on pancakes and now disliking French toast???

I had my usual Zatarains Black Beans and Rice for dinner tonight. I could have that every day.

Were they thrown out at first or second? Tried to steal and got caught? maybe a force out?

LOL! A triple play.

No French toast--it's an egg thing. I loathe them with a passion.

edit: fixed the quote

Staying on topic, how long can meals stay in the fridge before they go bad? I have an issue with food that's more than a couple of days old. As a single, this often presents a problem.

If they aren't green, or fuzzy, or smelling bad, they're good. My problem is by the time I get around to eating the leftovers I don't want them anymore.

Not necessarily. Food begins to collect bacteria after about 2 hours of being out. Now, most of that bacteria won't hurt us, but sometimes it does. I have a 3-day rule for left-overs, though I have been known to go over that by a bit (sometimes I pay for it, though). I do have a lot of leftovers go bad. If we put leftovers in the freezer, though, we won't have that problem.

I must have a cast iron stomach then. I once made turkey soup from the leftovers at thanksgiving (from scratch thank you veyr much) and ate on it until February. M was done with it about a week after t-day. It was soooo good. And sinceit was reheated all the time it stayed good.

A man after my own stomach.

You loathe eggs? You must tolerate them in baking, right? I use so few eggs that I buy the Better then Eggs that you pour out. I could never go through a dozen eggs before they went bad.

Baking's the only way that I can stomach them. My parents let me stop eating eggs when I was about 7 or 8 because I finally put ketchup on a fried egg.

I've never heard of Better than Eggs. Is it made of real eggs?

I'm not sure. I think it has eggs, but the cholesterol is removed.

I don't like French bread either...

Nor do I like coke or most carbonated drinks...

Nor tea, iced or hot

The concept of tea has always confused me. "Lets take a handfull of old leaves, crumble them up in hot water, and drink it" WHY?

Unfortunately everyone down here drinks tea. You go to a church function and end up having to go to the kitchen for a glass of water cause the coolers are both filled with tea. (One sweet, one not)

Ugh...I HATED that growing up and down here. I would always make sure to bring my own thermos of lemonade or something to stay away from the cowboy tea (so sweet you have to use a spoon to pour it out).

I actually like hot tea; as long as I have a dash of fresh lemon juice and Splenda. *grin*

Y'all don't like tea??? Wow, I didn't know there was anyone who didn't like tea. Down here, it's the "house wine of the south". To be done right, it's got to be sweet!! (though my dad drinks it STRONG!) It's just too bad I can't enjoy it very often. Nowadays, it's a cup of hot tea with Splenda.

Iron cast tummies - plus monster appetite.

Yep, I notice that too...many males have cast iron stomach and veroucious appetite! I had my cousins 2 steps sons (18 and 22) for 24hrs here Atlanta. It was amazing that I forgot how they can not only eat a lot but mix many kinds of food all together like a blender and still have room for more..yep.

Ahhhh, People...for the 1st time, 2 days ago, I got across a movie documentary called: " King Corn". I was impressed by how much corn goes inside many foods we eat..I dont eat much red meat/beef but 4 to 6x a month, and my chicken I buy organic as most other stuff I tend to choose organic etc but from now on I will buy grass fed beef at whole foods stores because of better taste of it too.

Now I understand why some ground beefs are not digestive to me, particular from fast foods, as hot dogs meat and many processed food, I do avoid because one way or another I feel an alergic reaction as get red, itching or triggers eczema etc. It may have something to do with not only corn but many other adictives processed in foods, plus maybe a low quality and high fat cut of meat and etc.

Seems many many things have corn syrup in it...I enjoy Karo because I love pecans pie..LOL but c'mom ...anything in excess is not balanced nutrition or healthy, no extra corn for me, thank you.

Ok now...below the link of documentary about corn:

I was offered a taster of a fruit tea the other week (malibu and coconut, which is a bit confusing because the alcoholic drink malibu is pineapple and coconut) and the assistant offering it said there was no 'tea' in it. I tried it and it was really good ~ and was going to buy it until I reaslied the taste was a bit funny ~ and checked the ingredients to find that it had artificial sweetner in it

I'm now inspired to get a chia pet in my time of getting over him grief. Perhaps I will make mention of that to my roommates.
