That's what the box says (doesn't it? I was doing it from memory). Note that she didn't ask if we actually followed the recipe. She just asked for it. I never use that much though. Maybe about three quarts (or two? I never measure just fill the pan)

Well, there are 4 quarts in a gallon; so it seems you use a gallon and a half to boil your macaroni. *grin* It might be 6 cups and to be honest I rarely measure anything when I cook. I just dump it in until it tastes right.
Now when I bake I'm pretty good about measuring but it's not a precise science or anything. *grin*

Normally when I cook I measure everything (I am an enginner after all)
When I bake, especially cookies, I really measure everything. The recipe must be followed EXACTLY!

Ummm...I was a psyche major so...hmmm...can't think of a good response to the engineer comment. *grin*
My best friend can't cook to save her life, (God love her) so I always crack her up when she comes over for dinner or something. I'm usually just throwing spices around, mixing, adding...taking out...LOL...but it's usually quite tasty so apparently I'm doing something right.

Well sometimes you just dump out the entire contents of the cinnamon container and you have to creatively save the dish by scraping off the top!

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Exactly! I remember the last time something like that happened I was soooo mad!!! LOLOL!!! (insert mad face smiley here; I can't remember where it is!)
Or once I added too much green onion and had to scoop some of it out. *grin* Cooking can be quite creative at my house.

I could not be in the kitchen when she cooked. I just couldn't do it. Deep down inside me every fiber of my being would be screaming "That's wrong! You didn't measure" But I knew enough about being a husband to turn and walk away before I really got it in trouble
