I see. Do you see this as an impediment to being part of the church? And is this church doctrine or merely the opinion of some members?

I wonder if anyone else besides me ever struggles to go to God with problems, imaginations, thoughts, etc. I know He is the one I need to speak with and turn to but sometimes the desire is not in there for me to turn to Him.
And though I love the Lord and love His Word I find sometimes I don't want to read His Word or let it minister to me. Is it the sinful nature in me that causes this or is it specific to me?
Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with what I've learned in struggling to be in a closer relationship with the Lord and I feel I will never incorporate all this into my life nor have my life change into the Holiness direction He shows me. And I find the closer I relate to Him the more light is shed on what is sin in my life.

Ginny, I think everyone struggles with those things. I know I do. It is our sinful nature to want to find everything but God as our solution for whatever is happening with us. Keep persevering. I'm convinced it is worth it.

It definitely is a race Maggie. And just like a race you get tired and weary. Thanks for your reply.
Well my pasta salad is done and in the frig.
Pasta Salad
1 box of shell pasta
2 carrots shredded
1 stalk of celery minced
1/2 green pepper minced
2 tomatoes minced
1 small onion minced
1 small bunch of broccoli minced
1 envelope Italian dressing mix
1/3 cup red wine vinegar
1 cup olive oil the kind made specifically for salads
1/4 cup sugar
1 small can of diced black olives
In a cruet jar add the red vinegar, the olive oil and the dressing mix. Add some basil, some Italian seasonings, dash of pepper, dash of salt, two galic cloves minced. Shake.
In a medium size bowl. Add all the minced veggies then pour the salad dressing over the veggies. Add the sugar to taste. Mix.
Boil the pasta al dente. Rinsed thoroughly and drain. Add to another larger bowl then add veggies and marinate mixture. Put in frig to marinate for 24 hours.

The neighbors across the street from us gave off a firework display last night. Every so often I would go out to watch other than that I stayed in the house. My youngest went to the carnival with his older sister. Sure am glad she's willing to take him and be with him as it means I don't have to fight the crowds and the traffic and he still gets the carnival experience and sees the fire works display.
My teeth are hurting. The roots of two bottom jaw teeth hurt and they are on opposite sides so I've been eating with my two front teeth. I've been so tired this week and not got done the cleaning I wanted to accomplish. I did just mop the kitchen floor but as I did I noticed that all the kitchen appliances need a thorough scrubbing.
I hope my pasta salad goes over ok today at the family get together. I minced the veggies because my husband doesn't have any jaw teeth to chew them and this way he can eat the salad too. I have steak marinating, a fruit tray and need to get my strawberries covered with chocolate. Need to buy the ice for the soda too.

I am so tired. Several times this week I got up at 4:00 and didn't get to bed again till midnight.
Tomorrow is VBS and I'm one of the teachers. There's material I need to review and memorize and I've shapes I need to cut out from cardstock that have the memory verse on them. Went to Staples and had them copy the templates I made of the sun, moon, and stars. Once they are cut out I will be putting on the back magnetic tape so the children can put these shapes with their memory verse on their frig at home.
In preparing for VBS one of the things I meditated on is how God prepared man's home environment and everything man needed to live and enjoy before he created man, male and female. God shows over and over again how much he loves us because of what He has done for us. Isn't God great!!
