AHH! I forgot to put any subliminal messages in my last message! Well, I guess considering this is the homeschool chat thread, maybe I don't need to worry about assimilating people in here anyway.

I didn't get in trouble, but it upset me that I had hurt someone. That was never my intention. I had the thread blasted from the boards totally.

Me too. I'm running on limited brain cells here, folks!
Me too! And I don't even have the pregnancy excuse that Donna has! Just know that in spirit I am joining you all in the world domination thing!

I got a horrible headache yesterday afternoon. Couldn't figure out what was going on until I saw the weather report & they told that the tree pollen was in the High category! It was NOT a good night here last night!

Dd's horse riding teacher called. Turns out there was all kinds of drama going on at the barn last Tuesday & she ended up moving all her animals to a friends stables. She is going to stop doing lessons until May & reevaluate then what she needs/wants to do. I guess the owners of the place where we took lessons & some others spread vicious rumors about her & basically took over many of her lessons. They even called her volunteers & told them they were no longer needed. All of this was done when she was out of town for Spring Break. It sounds like they were really underhanded about things. She is really devastated & said she just needs to focus on her family & her relationship with God right now. I can understand that. I thought something must be going on, because things seemed weird last Tuesday. SO - now the hunt begins for a new place for lessons, but I may put it off a few weeks, since we couldn't start because of dh's surgery anyway.

We have MOPS this morning, so I better get going.

Happy April everybody. I get to go to a womans retreat in a couple of days! 3 1/2 days of no poopy diapers, no 2 1/2 yr old trying to pull my shirt off saying he wants nee nees, no one calling me Mom, no cooking, no cleaning! I'm starting to feel giddy.
I havn't been away to something like this in over 10 yrs.
You do know I love being a Mom right? But the thought of a couple days rest....

I was going to name it "Bring May Flowers", but thought it would be confusing to have May in the title for April chat.

lol...I was thinking...HMMM...they don't say it quite the same down here...must be a WA thing to change that one to spring instead of May...lol

I feel the same way!

I was fine with it yesterday...now that everyone's siggy lines are changed too, it's a bit confusing...lol

And I'm not joining in because I was naughty last year on April Fool's and ended up hurting someone. So this year, I'm being good.

yeah Ryanne and I were talking about that on IM last night....we tried to find that thread but couldn't. (OK...now I see that you had it taken off the board). In all honesty though, I think the person was just being uber sensitive and I didn't really see anything wrong with your prank.

Our ladies retreat is next month, but I will pass.... I have never been to ladies retreat. But, I think Noah is still a little young to skip 'nee nees'. How funny that she calls it that!

Ya know what, Iowa has a bad bill being kicked around on the floor. If it passes, it will be that everyone uses the same standard curriculum.... homeschoolers, private schools, christians schools and public schools. Yesterday it was being debated and I sure hope it didn't go anywhere! I guess there are several families that home school that have been sucked into the home assist program here (free books and tests when they join)... So the home schoolers don't fight these bills like they use to. Iowa would be the first state that would do something like this.

We also woke up to snow today

I hadn't heard about that bill, Annie. It would be awful if something like that passed.

Yea, I didn't hear about it either. I looked at HSLDA and it is on there, but had no indication that it would be debated about yesterday. I hate that when they discuss things and they don't give anyone a chance to catch wind of it in time to really get the word out. Maybe this state doesn't have a home school representative at the capital all the time.

i have started a new thread all written in Leet if y'all would like to join me.

A couple of my favorite pranks were when LLisa and I announced the betrothal of David and Joy, when Laura... and I had a big fight in chat, and there were other fun ones, but those two are the first that I remember.

I remember that. I wasn't a mod then so I wasn't sure. I was pretty sure it was a prank but couldn't be sure.

Rebekah read her first sentence!

There were some people that thought that we were really serious and thought that it was awful. It was so funny.

I just got off the phone with Branson MO. They were trying to sell me a trip. I wish we could of done it, but oh well. They suckered me into the whole phone call because I put my name in a 'win a car' drawing at a mall in Iowa City. I was hoping for the car!!

I don't get over to this thread very often, but is this where you come to show off a new April Fool's Day avatar?

I like your avatar, sen10tious.

I think the April Fool's joke is on me. I can't even recognize myself on the boards anymore.

Awesome Sen-10!

I thought about doing a PINK book but then the whole book thing was my idea so I chose to non conform with my sig line. The official conformist line is a quote about the education system being a true totalitarian state. or some such.

I must have missed your thread last year, Donna. I don't remember it at all.

That was by far my absolute favorite! I think our fake website is still out there somewhere, too.

I just googled it and found it. We had so much fun creating that. I was so proud that all my links were clickable. Holy Living Today

Sen10tious, I love your non-comformist book! That's hilarious!

I know! They look so little don't they? It's been awhile since I've seen David, but Joy looks a lot older than that now.

Oh MY! I remember doctoring that photo- David had/HAS such huge hands!

he is getting quite tall too.

Hey ellie- I was gonna say he was quickly catching up to Jared, BUT sadly Jared has shot up a bit since we saw you 2 weeks ago! Really, pants that FIT in length the week we left for vacation are visibly too short now. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN OVER NIGHT?!?!?!

Yep. Great avatar.

The betrothal was the best April Fools joke ever. I loved it.
