Two things really: To re-start praying everyday and re-examine my own world view to make it more line up with a biblical world view. I am seeing just how much my worldveiw is influenced by the western scientific (anti-biblical) mindset.

To not waste time on the internet. I put a timer widget on my laptop so I can keep track of my time and not go over an hour a day in internet usage.

How to show God's love to a neighbor that assaulted my husband yesterday afternoon. The neighbor punched him in the nose and gave him a bloody one. Of course fear came to overtake us, but perfect love casts out all fear. We aren't leaving this mission field because a sinner needs Jesus and had an evil spirit behind his actions.

~Perfecting holiness in the fear of the Lord~ ~Be ye holy~ He is reminding me, through circumstances, just how horrible and destructive and horrific the effects of sin are. None of us even have a clue, really, how horrible sin is in the eyes of the Lord.

(Compassion for others and Listening for His voice.) The other day I was cleaning a spot off the couch. I don't usually have the radio on. This day I did. I listened to someone call in who was open to the healing hand of God. Suddenly a thought impressed on my heart and mind. I said to the Lord; "Lord, would you ever like to use me in some way to help someone like this?..." The next day someone contacted me about something. Later I remembered my request to the Lord the day before!

My sense of humour and my fast-paced mode. Through God's grace I have re-gained my sense of humour and I am still struggling with the other one even though I have come a long way.

To be kind to an "enemy." My response has been prayer to help change my attitude and to act in kindness even when it wasn't felt.

So far since I have seen this thread title, I have admittedly felt the urge to share in this area. But of course I have that little nagging “feeling” like; you don’t need to share something so personal in a public forum with perfect strangers. It’s not necessary. It’s just between myself and the Lord...right? Well I can say that the“nagging” has been overwhelmed by a more urgent prompting of, yes, share this with others. This is very difficult for me so please understand the "un"specifics. I’ve been struggling with my flesh. Same ol song and dance for me. Just when I think I’ve got this little thorn in my side pulled out (only in the strength of Christ), I happen to do something (or not do the right things) that gives root to it again. I’m tired and weary but I’ve been down harder before. The Holy Spirit has been gentle yet increasingly persistent. I thank God for this. I know I am His. I know He will have His perfect work in me. I know He is the one who encourages, chastises and leads me in this daily fight I have been having. Along with a repentant heart, I have been moving daily little by little in the areas the Lord has been prompting me to, but one response I think I should have is to ask for prayers. That’s always been hard for me to say, but I know that I do need them.

That’s always been hard for me to say, but I know that I do need them. Designed - you have really encouraged me in your post. The one thing that the Lord would have us be and that is 'honest'. Sometimes we are afraid to admit we are struggling with sin and try and hide it for fear of what others may think. God's grace and mercy never runs dry for those who uncover their sin before Him and like you say - God knows what you are struggling with without sharing in great detail. I thank God for the way He is dealing with you in that He loves you so much that He does not want you to remain as you are. It is good that His Holy Spirit is prompting you in whatever area(s) need to come under His guidance and help and a very healthy sign that the Lord has a work He wants to do within you where He can show you more of His great love, mercy and power. I am reading a book at the moment and the author speaks about her struggles with the flesh. She has had some of the same struggles of the flesh as I have had (and some I still do) but slowly, step-by-step the Lord has helped her to surrender these less than the best desires of her flesh to Him. In their place, God has given her the things that money cannot buy and is using her as a channel of great blessing towards others and all because she came to the point where she said "yes" to God and "no" to her own desires and ambitions. Jesus knows what it is like to be tempted but he was without sin because He was so surrendered to God in His life that the Holy Spirit was able to work mighty power through Him. It was by the power of the Holy Spirit that Jesus was able to defeat sin. The Holy Spirit is powerful - He raised Jesus from the dead. He will not force Himself to make us do anything however; instead He longingly waits for us to realise that His way really is best and that God only wants to give us the ultimate best. When we stop trying to run our own lives - we give the Holy Spirit a chance to work in us. It is challenging to give our own will and desires up to God but He always gives us much, much more in return. Thank you for being honest. May God bless you and help you in the power of His Holy Spirit to be all He wants you to be.

Thank you Ignited-Faith and Little_1. God bless you both for your thoughtfulness. quote:
....and all because she came to the point where she said "yes" to God and "no" to her own desires and ambitions. This reminds me in confirmation of a verse I've been meditating on as of late.. James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. It seems so simple yet the order of the way it is written is really key. In order to say "no" and resist satan's tactics, one must first say "yes" and submit to God.

Sorry Patricia (Ta_Mosquito) re: moved thread. I am still trying to get to grips with the website. I have only been on a couple of Christian website forums before and this is still pretty new to me. Thank you for your patience because I know you have had to move a couple of my threads already.

Wow, what a question! Well, in a general sense he has been hammering me with my pride and matching that with teachings on humility. Wow, that's been so cool-I do wish the American Protestant/Evanglical Christian could learn more about the power of humility-it would CHANGE the face of the church in America. In a specific sense, He has been working with me on becoming more loving to individuals in my life. Additionally, he has been working on me with being more industrious/hard working and doing everything to His glory. That is incredible as well.

Yes, humility is a great thing, so is perfection, the Lord has wispered to me that the two are able to go together and even compliment one another beautifully.

Although, I feel as if I have a lo-ong way to go, and much more learning to be had! Also, I am being led to stop trying to control things. I have always been a control-freak- it's always been a problem. But I see God working with me, teaching me (SLOWLY) that I must give up ALL control. Lately everything in my life is a giant 2x4 that forces me to give up control of different parts of my life- finances, where I will live, who I will live with, my job, etc. Of course I have relapses, but I am learning and working on giving my life to God and allowing Him to lead me in all things. Surprisingly (although not surprisingly at all when you think about it!), everything is working out for the best! So PRAISE GOD!
