I'm behind again. I can see the top half okay, and the bottom half looks faded. Weird. She is beautiful though.

Kath, is that Linz in your avatar? Only the top half is showing up for me. What I can see is lovely though.

I'll pm you the picture. I didn't want to put it out there because she's in a strapless and I didn't want to hear about it. Some people get pretty irate about that sort of thing. There has been I don't know how many threads about it moral issues. I thought for a strapless it was still demure. I don't think straps would have made much difference.

Thanks Kath! Did she do her own hair? It's beautiful.

The avatar is messed up for me, the top half of her head looks good, and the bottom half is faded.

I paid big bucks for that hair!

That is so weird about the avatar though, I can see it fine. I wonder if anyone else is having trouble. A few people in SG said she looks nice so I don't think so unless they are just being polite.

I hope so too! It's Sandy (BlessedMamaofMany) and family that are coming over and it would be realllllly nice if we could let the kids run around outside! The big kids at least.

Prom isn't here until May.

She is beautiful, Kath! As for what anyone else thinks...pshwa.

I can see it just fine. I was actually going to start a thread in here about how pretty her picture was (prom pic, right?), but I'd thought I'd check in chat, and see if it was already mentioned. Good thing I did, lol. Who did she go with? Does she have a boyfriend, or was it just a date for that evening? Did she have a good time? If I may ask...

I like her hair, too. I've always found dark hair very attractive. She's got beautiful skin, too.

She goes with a guy named Ryan, she's been seeing him since the end of last summer. He's a junior, she's a freshman. She had a good time but she's still too grumpy to talk about it. She's not at her best when she first wakes up or she's over tired. I'm sure I'll hear all about it tonight when we are getting ready for bed. :)

and thank you for the compliments you made about her hair. :)

Linz looks absolutely beautiful!

Hey all! It's been a couple of days since I've gotten back in here! CRAZY! I somehow downloaded a nasty virus and it has taken us a couple of days to get rid of all the problems it's caused!

Now we are looking at the last month and a half of school and life gets CRAZY. Spring plays, Fine Arts Day, Talent show, Field day, End of the year awards nights for scouts, and then all the stuff for 8th grade graduation.

I went and bought Aryn some sports bras today - but we didn't try them on so now I have to take them back and buy a larger size. This is a first for us so it is kinda difficult to think about my little girl being big enough for a bra already!

My tulips are about 8 inches tall - not blooming yet. My crocus got eaten by the bunnies. My neighbors daffadils are in full bloom and the crab apple tree and the lilacs are setting buds!

Blessings,

Garsy

Aww, Linz does look very pretty Kath! Our school wasn't allowed to have proms, just "banquets" (no dancing) so I'm always a little jealous of prom pictures and stories.

You let her go strapless?!? You HEATHEN!!! I never have understood what the difference in strapless and spaghetti straps is anyway. Seeing another quarter inch of shoulder really matters that much? Whatever.

I was asked to help in the 2 - 3 yo classroom at church for the rest of this month, what fun! We had a full room - probably 12 to 15 kids - this morning, so it was quite busy. They were all pretty good though, some of them got a little restless during the Bible story time but no major tantrums. Of course then my 3 yo acted like he was raised by wolves when we got to Wendy's for lunch.

Thanks! I haven't heard any prom stories yet though, she's off with friends right now. I know I'll hear all about it tonight.

I guess I don't see anything wrong with dancing. It's the 'dirty dancing' I'd have problems with, but not just jumping around having fun, even a slow dance isn't that bad.

THat made me laugh.

Hey Mbee! I see you up there I sent you a PM with Linz's prom pics but you haven't read it yet.

Sorry I wasn't in sooner. We went to scout camp immediately after school.

DeeDee talked to the principal and he called each person down and the girl who was on ISS was sent back to class. I didn't hear any more about it than that - I doubt there was any more at that point. Now, after Suzy-sunshine goes home and says she got in trouble, Monday could be interesting again.

We need to wrap up some scout stuff for her we have been putting off for a while...

Praying that that situtation goes well Roberta!

Today I'm home most of the day. Ty has play practice til 5:30 tonight and then we have a scout meeting at 6:30. So that means I bring Ty's supper with me and have the rest of the kids' meal ready to eat when they get home at 4PM.

I certainly have enough to do tho! I have several projects stacked on my scrapping table that NEED to be tackled! I'm 3 weeks behind on my scripture challenges too!

Ty brought home on Friday a permission slip for a class trip to King's Island in May. They are asking for a non-refundable $30 down payment by THIS Friday!!!!! Total cost I guess is about $60!! E-gads! That on top of ticket costs for his play next week! (we need to buy at least 3 tickets) and the cost of the DVD they make of the play. What do they think I'm made of? Quite honestly I think it's getting to the point where some of us single income parents are going to have to start putting our foot down on things like this! AND WHY does everything have to come due in APRIL?

Blessings,

Garsy

Hi all,

I haven't been around much either. I got so sick this week, some respiratiory virus. Now if I could just loose the cough.

Kath, your daughter is beautiful! As far as strapless who cares, your the mom, it's no body else's business.

Well all, I need you guy's prayer for my oldest. Jessica is 12. She's in 7th grade. She's a very sensitive child and she seems to be especially emotional right now. School has been a hard for her this year. She has an english teacher that has her so intemidated that today she was in tears when she left the house. Jessica is struggling with the course work and I think some of it is that she is afraid to ask for help. She does alright in her other classes, the other teachers are happy with her efforts. She actually likes math, for Jessica that is something. Dh is schedualing another conference with this teacher and the principle. I feel so helpless right now, my heart hurts so much for her right now. Please just pray for her and us.

Thanks for letting me rant a little.

Do you know if the principal contacted her about Liz's missing paperwork?

That is a lot of money for a field trip!

I feel your pain. We have the house taxes due on the rental house and the farm due, IRS and car insurance due all within a 6 week period. It's about pushing me over the edge.

Linz is in the school play, I wish they made a dvd of it.

Kim, I'm glad you feel better. Did the kiddos get it too?

Hi Michelle!

Mbee, I hope DeeDee's Monday was uneventful.

Yes, he did.

The conference went fairly well. Liz had the floor most of the time. There is no way that she can bring her grade up to a passing grade for the semester, but she understood the point of sticking it out so that she could be better prepared to learn it next time.

This was my first face-to-face meeting with the teacher. She is really a "cold" person. She is much older than I thought she was.

I didn't mention it in the meeting. They do know because I've already had to get her transcripts.

DeeDee said the young lady who was the 'victim' was not in school yesterday. And, we suddenly were talking about sick days and lying about them...Makes a Momma wonder how astute her child is...

OH

How do I handle this...

The bus leaves at 7, my shift starts at 7, Poppa has flex time. Since I went back to work, Poppa has put the kids on the bus and then went to work. Poppa gets me up around 5:45 - 6am and the kids between 6-6:15. Until we went to one car. When that happened, we were leaving the house between 6-6:15 and getting BigBee up before we left. So, I was up at 5:30, BigBee was up before 6 and DeeDee was moving shortly afterwards. There was at least 3-5 times they 'almost missed the bus' and one or two 'forgot stuff's' but that was it.

I was commenting to folks about how much of an improvement there was in BigBee's behavior between Christmas and Easter. How helpful he was. How he was more patient and kind toward his Momma & Sister. I was crediting his body maturing and he was doing after school stuff.

My problem? I think I'm wrong. I tried to be objective and look at things from the outside, but it seems to me that since we have had the second car his behavior has regressed a bit. He is more cranky. This morning he was talking to me about something we needed to discuss TODAY and Poppa told him to get ready and BigBee said that 'now you are going to keep yelling at me and I wasn't doing anything wrong'. He is right. Poppa seems to rile him up. I wonder if that had been setting him up to have a bad day and when we weren't there in the morning, it didn't start out that way for him. Not that I'm blameless. I don't get up well, I hog the bathroom, and the kids can't go in until I'm out (since I leave first). So, I had to the stress level, but if I wasn't there, I don't know if it would lessen.

But, when I suggested to Poppa that he leave earlier (so he is home earlier ) he said that he likes being there to help the kids...

Oh, what to do...

Mbee, I'm sure the change in routine has probably been a factor. (Any change in routine gets to my kids, which is why we try to start early preparing for the start of a new school year.) And maybe he's feeling a little let-down because he's no longer "in charge" in the mornings - he had a job that isn't his anymore.

Kim, I'll be praying for Jessica.

Hi, everyone! Hope you all have a splendiferous day!

The original routine brought about such an improvement. I know I get stressed if I don't meet Poppa's expectations. I find myself choosing an outfit or hairdo that is quicker, just to avoid upsetting him.

And, he is guininely upset about it. He gets very stressed if anyone is late and his definition of late is 'not 10 minutes early'
