I don't know if the BBC America versions are edited; they may be edited simply for time which has to happen with Doctor Who as well, for both SciFi and BBC-A. As for them being PG013....well, I guess. There's very little on non-movie/non-premium channels that would be higher than PG-13. Except for some of those awful shows on FX, and some of the imported animes on Adult Swim, which are sometimes rated TV-MA simply for showing bloody violence when monsters are killed. It's just that almost every week on Torchwood Jack has to be at least kissing someone, usually male. I think it's Russell T. Davies' (producer of Doctor Who and Torchwood) revenge on the BBC for not allowing him to steam up Doctor Who, which I'm sure he was forbidden to do contracturally. Davis is gay and John Barrowman is gay, and I think Davis loved that he could create a bisexual/omnisexual hero. One that everyone on the team loves almost like a god, which I think is really getting heavy-handed. That now they feel compelled to throw in the Jack/Gwen thing (I worte it wrong in the Doctor Who thread - the actress' name is Eve, her charcter's name is Gwen). It's called dropping anvils, when a relationship is hinted at like that but nothing happens. Even though that relationship isn't going anywhere any time soon, at any point, any character on Torchwood may be getting involved with another team member and/or the alien, bad guy and/or tragic guest star of the week. At any rate, I guess it's easy to tell that I Have mixed feelings about the show. I think if the writers and producers would take emphasis off the sex, the show would be better.
