The Super Bowl commercials are a bit differant than usual. Beer commercials for instance. You would think that they'd all be geared towards men.... BUT who does most of the grocery shopping? Who is more likely to hear, "honey, while you are at the store pick us up a six pack"? So many Superbowl commercials have to appeal to both genders.
BTW, as far as satire, often the male mind sees funny differantly than the female mind (a broad general statement). Ever seen guys rolling in laughter over something and all the women have a blank look that means, "what is funny about that?" And it is usually a joke about passing gas....
Commericals do work though that's for sure. I was looking for a marker a couple of years ago at Wal-Mart and Thing 2 said, "Oh! You need the kind where you don't need to put the baby down to use it!" *blink* Apparently he remembered the Sharpie commerical. *grin*
