I am VERY shy and have a terrible time meeting new people online. Once we know each other, they are my friends.

Years ago I watched a thread for months and finally I couldn't stand it, and jumped in and said something, (no I don't remember what it was ) but it scared me so bad that I walked away from the computer for hours. I was quite sure that they would ignore me completely or say something like, "what a fruitcake" or "that was a stupid thing to say".

Finally (with one eye closed) I checked the response. The people didn't ignore me or laugh at me! They thought I was funny! That kept me with one thread for years. The sad part is that several people have left Crosswalk.

I have prayed for many people.
I love puns and enjoy a dry sense of humor.

That's about it. Ohhh I forgot, it takes me forever to finish a post. It has to be just right, even though I can't tell you how many spelling errors are still wrong.

I don't think I have ever hit the OK button before Previewing!

My Mom used to tell me that I was a perfectionist and I totally forgot about that word! I should get a plaque to remind me about that, but it would have to be the perfect one.

I hear ya! I'm not shy any more (still soft spoken, but that's completely different), but sometimes I delete something I type rather than pressing the OK button for fear of someone's comments.

(I suspect we have lots of company, and those like us are probably just reading and smiling to themselves right now, nodding their heads in agreement )

Personality and humor wise I am the same online as in IRL. The main difference is the beginning. I am more outgoing online. I am a very shy person IRL. It takes me a while to get to know someone before I can open up and be myself. Online, I just jump right in.

It might have more to do with the fact I like to write more than I like to talk.

My online persona is exactly the same whether I'm online or not. (I keep it in a box beside the door)

Actually I'm about the same online or off. I try very hard to be honest on line so that if I ever meet the fine folk from the forums face to face (like at the GT) They are not wondering who this pod person is and what did they do with John_O

gee, john....i figured you for an "outside the box" kinda guy!

i am such a jumble of contrasts!

even tho it's very easy for me to interact in this kind of forum, IRL i could be at a function or party for hours, and never say one word to anyone else there. i am a BIG people-observer. but then again...i might just walk in and instantly be the life of the party. once i get rolling... stand back!

years working in the corporate world taught me to "mirror" whoever i was working with, selling to, etc... it makes people so much more comfortable if you can communicate in the same manner in which they do, ya know? doesn't have to be false, just puts them at ease. also...years of working with airlines forced me to make quick connections with people...i could "meet" hundreds or even thousands of people in a single workday. and then when i moved down south...well...that was a whole 'nother lesson in communicating (once a yankee, always a yankee. lol) and all of this is incredibly amusing to me...becuz i would classify myself as a "NOT a people person." giggle

i am a "put it out there" kinda woman. i'm usually blunt...and i freely admit, stupid people irritate the **** outta me. i learned a long time ago, i don't have time to waste with supd or rude. i will call anyone on anything. i won't usually volunteer advice, but if you ask, i will be completely honest...then let you make of it what you will.

i can count on one hand the number of friends i have. a lot of this is due, of course, to the kind of work i have done, or currently do. that...and i'm just pretty particular. lol but if i consider you a friend, i will be there whenever, no matter what. i am an incredibly loyal person.

i am overwhelmed with the number of wonderful, funny, genuinely caring people i have 'met' online here. although i'm not the type to worry about what someone will think of my postings, i feel so fortunate to have been welcomed with such open arms (at least so far! lol). so...thank you all. i consider you all blessings.
