Then why do so many "Christians" posters have it? BTW, why do you say Malcom X was evil?

So you have never read or heard his teaching, eh?

I have struggled on the issue of declaring Obama black. He was born of a white woman & raised in white society. His father was African & wasn't a part of his life. Obama married a black woman & affiliated himself w/ a black church. So, in this case, is he black based on the color of his skin or the affiliation? I must have missed a huge chunk of history on him if he completely left his roots behind when his mother died. Genetically, he is what he is. He's both.

My choices would be Alan Keyes & JC Watts. Most I've talked to say forget about JC because he's too smart to run for president. God has called him to something else. His story is yet to be continued. Alan is up as a possibility for the Constitution party, so we'll find out about him at the end of the week. kd

One issue that many Christians harp upon is Obama's pro-choice policies. Just because he stands behind a woman's right to choose abortion does not mean that he is "pushing for abortion for everyone.".it's about a womans right to choose.. Quite the contrary he advocates pregnancy prevention to reduce the need for abortion.!! This can be equated with our right to choose being Baptist or Methodist. Just because one happens to be Methodist one is not pushing everyone in that direction. I had a safe, legal abortion a while back. I do feel guilty about it, BUT IT WAS MY CHOICE. However, it was done under sanitary conditions. In the days before Roe vs. Wade, I could have died having the procedure done in a back alley or using a coat hanger. I guarantee that there were plenty more deaths before Roe vs. Wade because many times both fetus and mother died this is surely not"pro life"...it's all about the right to choose.
We live in a country of freedom to practice our various religions be it Christian or other religions or not at all. Everyone pays taxes..should we ask Congress to tax only the Christians? Christians will then foot the bill for running the country so that it will be under total Christian control. Just think Christians can have control over other religions and most of all, the atheists among us ,because we would be paying all of the taxes.. I say this sarcastically.

Does it matter what melanin (skin tone) a person is in regards to presidential capability?

I've been looking up Barak Obama and Hillary Clinton so I can make an informed opinion on them. My natural inclination against politicians makes me lean towards the suspicion that he's saying what he knows people want to hear in his speeches; however he's also neglected many opportunities to attack other politicians. That surprises me, because it had become expected for American Democrats to respond to challenge by attacking their opponents instead of responding to the issue (so I gather from the media).

I've also heard similar sentiment in regards to senator Hillary Clinton. I don't think the United States is ready for her as president, but the fact that the senator is female has nothing to do with it, the fact that she is outright power-hungry and self-centered is what worries me.

So (finishing off on the original topic), should his being "black" at all whether by parentage (partial or otherwise) or recent social affiliations (partial or otherwise) have any bearing on Barak Obama's status as a presidential candidate? As far as I know, there's nothing about physical description that determines eligibility or quality for president.

You want to call me a liar, that is your perogative.

One of his teachings he claimed was based on the bible was that white people were a product of a weak black man's sperm.

He said the Bible backs that up with 'out of the darkness came the light'.

I was alive and well through Malcolm X's start, rise,. and eventual demise; he was an arrogant biggoted racist of the worse sort.

Thanks

Adam and Eve romped around in the Garden of Eden, eventually covering their bodies with fig leaves, fig trees are found in hot regions of Southern Europe/ The Middle East/ Northern Africa. This tells me that the hue of their skin had to be darker than alabaster!! Rev. Wright explained this in a most crude way, he should have used more diplomacy.

Just think Jesus Christ Almighty would not qualify for the Presidency, according to the laws of the Constitution:
1) He was not born in America
2) He did not reach the age of 35...the minimum required age.

Therefore, if we are looking for perfection from a human..good luck. Perfection Himself does not make the grade!!

Religion or the lack of is becoming a scapegoat to keep us away from the true issues that need to be continously brought to the forefront of this election. The issue is not Wright, Hagee or Clinton's old minister. These are the issues.

ECONOMICS

FOOD PRICES

GAS PRICES

FORECLOSURES

WAR IN IRAQ

HEALTH CARE ETC.

These are the real issues, please vote for the person that you feel best represents you in these area's.

Not nippy in Oklahoma, hot as hades here, not harsh winters in awhile. I am very pale too, as you can tell with the ol fig trees. Wright is pretty white himself, about as white as I am. BTW RC, no rompin naked, please, I would not want to see that on KFOR channel 4 news.

I know it's a politically incorrect question to ask, but according to Pennsylvania primary exit polls, 18 percent of white voters said they had a problem voting for Obama simply because he's black (or whatever color you want to call him). This number mirrors the 20 percent of white voters who responded the same way in Ohio. Now keep in mind also, these are people who were bold enough to tell someone they had a problem with voting for a black candidate for president. So, the number could be higher. I'm only bringing this up because there are those who keep saying it shouldn't matter the color of someone's skin, but it does. There are blacks who vote for Obama because he's African-American, and there are whites who won't vote for him because of his race. We don't know for sure how many on each side, but one thing we DO know -- there are a lot more white voters than black voters. Therefore, even if Obama continues to get close to 100 percent of the black vote in the primaries and (if he makes it) in the general election, he still needs a subtantial number of white votes. He's not going to get 'em. Not against McCain.

Malcolm got his self together before he died. there is an tv interview where he GAVE up the NOI. He was killed by the NOI.

The words arrogant biggotted racist can be applied to the current president.

And alot of people that are leaders can wear those labels, some do proudly.

Malcolm X gave up his racism.

I know alot of "racist" Christians. Just like I know alot of "conservative" Christians....

Like I plainly explained earlier in this thread, what you know and read is part of his life in which he was under the racist teachings of Elijah Muhammad. All that change when he return back from Mecca and in the end his change cost him his life. Yes, he spoke racism/hatred in response to racism/hatred, but that was not the end product of Malcolm X. See, the problem with a lot of you all on here, you claim you know history, but you only know bits and pieces of the whole story. You leave out stuff purposely or leave it out due to ignorance in an attempt validate your weak argument. RC you don't know it all, you think you do because of your age, but that does not mean your any wiser or knowledgeable.

arrogant bigoted racist?

our current president?

please explain (especially the bigoted racist part)....give definitive examples...

arrogant? i can SEE where some may think so, but that's also saying that the last guy wasn't....and, wow, was HE ever arrogant....ugh!

these claims, of course, being made on what has been the most ethnically diverse administration in U.S. history.....from the article:

Even some Democrats grumbled during the presidential campaign that Bush had more African-Americans and Hispanics among his closest advisers than did Democratic challenger John Kerry, who won a majority of black and Hispanic votes.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2004-12-09-diverse-usat_x.htm

could it be his BIGGEST problem is having an (R) next to his name...instead of a (D)?

It was "racist" and "bigoted" because the governor and the mayor impeded every effort early on? The mayor had MANY opportunities to get ALOT of people out of town before the storm hit, and yet, didn't do a THING. (except try to blame everyone but himself for the later failures)

That the mayor and governor, for YEARS, didn't do anything to improve the levee system....yet, even my wife (who grew up down there...south of new orleans), had been telling me for 10+ years "if new orleans gets hit, it'll be underwater"...EVERYONE knew it...and, yet, NOTHING was done....

and, yet, Bush is "racist" and "bigoted" because of local and state failures to act?

same thing would have happened had any other person been President....(especially anyone with an (R) next to their name instead of a (D)....)

you want to talk "Racist"....the mayor of New Orleans has Bush beat by a mile!

Is that the only "example" you have?

Ask one of Bush's many, many "minority" appointees, and cabinet members how "racist" he is.....
