But, given your reference to Luther, you obviously define a Berean as an adherent of sola scriptura in one form or another. Regarding that type of critter, we still excommunicate em (or they excommunicate themselves). IOW, they become "separated brethren", assuming they still adhere to the minimum tenets of Christianity. We pray for them too. Corporately, we do so at the Easter Vigil.
