Hey Denny - nice to meet you. Yup grandkids are great except when they share their colds. I just picked up a small one yesterday from one of my cuties.

Leah dinner sounded good - except for the mac and cheese. Bummer.
We had stuffed bell peppers and artichokes. I use ground turkey so it is healthier ( I think).
Man you went from winter to summer overnight almost. I remember visiting Indiana in May and between the thunder storms and tornado watches, it was pretty interesting weather.

Hi Jordan, welcome. I love your smile if that is you in the avatar that is.

Hi Denny, my name is Ginny. I am a grandma too of a 12, 9, 5 year olds.

Leah, I was going to have salmon patties tonight then I found out hubby ate all the crackers then I took out the fish filets instead and DD called and offered to have dinner at her house. She was fixing round steak in gravy from the crock pot, scalloped potatoes, green beans, and lima beans. Of course I took her up on her offer.

Fish pond.......It wasn't me who put in ours. My 3 boys did for their dad when he was sick with cancer. The pond is very nice and the fish have gotten huge. The only problem we have is the fish are so large now they keep tipping over the pump.

I am on the road tomorrow for a high school registration. Never been to this high school before wish me luck in finding it.

Barb, grief takes time. I go to the graveyard every time I visit my parents because my brother is buried there and I talk to him and to my grandparents who are buried there too. This is one reason I'm not sure I want my husband cremated. There will be no grave to visit and grieve at. Guess I could talk to his jar of ashes.

Ginny

Yep it would be morning -- leastwise in our part of the world . . g'mornin' to ya, Denny -- tho you're likely long at w___ by now . . . gotta be careful with those 4-letter words with you -- know there are some that grates on ya the wrong way

Good Thursday morning, everyone. Quiet around here. Garrett & I left for Rolla early this morning, but before I got too far, I decided to call the local hardware stores to see if they perchance had what I needed -- and they did!! -- and I do believe they were even cheaper here -- Wow! I was so excited not to have to spend the morning running a simple errand, and spending nearly $8 in gas besides . . . . so now, we're home, my new brackets are installed, another shelf put up, some more flowers moved unto them, and I'm taking a coffee break -- with my favorite Premium Coffee from Mcd's! Life is grand at times, isn't it? Owell -- sometimes it takes so little to make me happy

I'm nearly ready to get back to work again, but it feels good to sit a bit

Barb, sounds like you are going through the grieving with grace and wisdom. God is good, and always with you. (((((Barb))))) Denny, if those termites are Christian, maybe I'll send them to you since you asked about them. Barb, you don't like getting yard sales ready, eh? I love doing that! And I love having the sale, too. I like going to them except that there is always something I need that I didn't know I needed before that!!

Morning Denny & Leah!!

I left my bedroom window open all night & I got up a bit chilled this morning!! Had to flip the switch & let some heat in!!

I have to go in on Monday & Tuesday for those awefull treadmill stress tests! I'm glad there will be a DR. in the room, cuz walking on a treadmill may put me under!! I have a sign on my treadmill..."I'm in NO shape to Excercise"
Dr. thinks it just could be stress....no kidding!!

Guess I'll spend some time today going thru pictures...hubby thinks if I dig up some pictures of him when he was ~thinner~, it may motivate him to get there again.....Man...that won't work for me, I don't have any pictures of me that would motivate me....now I could find some that will motivate me, but hubby doesn't want other ladies pictures hanging around the house!!

Good morning all! Yep, it's morning here too. Although it's almost gone now....

I'd much rather go to yard sales than have one. We'll have one with our neighbor in a few weeks, but my 13yo will be gone that day. I will really miss her' she's a big help when we have yard sales.

LOL Pam! I'm thinking it's a GOOD thing hubby doesnt' want other ladies' pictures hanging around the house -- be a little worrisome if he did

As for the treadmill, yep, a dr will be on hand, and they'll take you right off that thing in a hurry, if need be. You might actually surprise yourself -- seems to me you & Barb are quite active . . how could you NOT be running after toddlers all day! For myself, I started workouts at the gym so I COULD keep up with a toddler -- and it's helped! I'm down to going 2 days a week now . . not intentional, just seems to be all I can manage with everything we have going here these days. But 2 days is better than none.

Joy, I kinda like getting ready for the yardsales -- getting my house cleaned out, for sure -- but by the time the sale is over I definitely don't want to mess with it anymore -- let alone figure out what to do with what's left! Besides, I never have enough to sell to make it worth my while. As for going to them . . . well, I had to make myself stop going cuz I just got such an accumulation of stuff I didn't know I needed and couldn't find a place for when I got home with it

Yard sales! Dh wants one. I want him to get rid of all our junk but I sure don't want the stress of a yard sale or getting ready for one. We have no garage so what will we do with stuff as we collect it for the sale? Fill up our family room? Sigh.

A regular in Maggie's Musings has just been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour. She's been fighting cancer for over twenty years but this is a real blow. She's also got heart problems and may need surgery for that too. Please pray for Pengie.

I pm you Leah.

Maggie, hi! It would have been great if we could have chatted last night. I was in need of a friend.

Glad it's Friday. Have to take both my grandson and son to school this morning. I hate taking my grandson because his school is hard to get into and out of with the traffic making left turns is harder than right ones. The middle school always has tons of traffic.

I've decided to work on projects at work today that are not heavy but need to be done such as filing and working on an Advisory Manual.

Updating the Fall syllabi can wait a while and the other mass mailing I have to do can wait too.

The summer syllabus was gone over with a fine tooth comb when I sent it up to the main campus. Seems there were minor spelling errors. Goodness I didn't realize that I had to read it from front to back to see if the person who had my job before me made mistakes in her typing. I only checked the revisions I was given to do. This syllabus is 400 pages.

Ginny

Yes..it's Friday!! I love Fridays.
Good Morning Everyone

I think I quit my factory/office cleanning job? The lady from the cleanning service called me yesterday. She finally asked for my last name and address. She is gonna sent me the tax papers, I was suppose to fill out when they hired me last Sunday. She asked me if everything was working out alright, and I told her. I travel 28 miles round trip for this job, and the $8 an hour won't add up to much, after tax witholdings and gas. She said she would check into another application and see if she wants the job. She would let me know if I needed to come in tonight. So much for that huh?

Goodness I wish I lived close by you folks who wanted my fish pond!
We took it out because my husband had a dream one of the grandkids fell in it! I had alot of fish, and dad took them into his basement over the winter (2 years ago) Well he overfed them, and they all died! So after hubby's dream, and me haveing no fish anymore...I agreed to take it out. But I really did enjoy it.
I'm not sure what to ask for it. It has the kidney shapped pond, two pumps, all the hoses, the tank to store them in the winter, books, food, water cleanning supplies, ect ect.
I got hubbys truck full of stuff to bring over to my daughters house tonight, and my van is full of stuff. I did'ent know I had all this stuff to sell.

Woke up to thunder storms last night. Some of that thunder really cracked! Got an inch of rain out of it. Now today we are expecting more storms. Some may be big ones. Guess a cold front is rolling thru,

Good morning, Barb & Ginny . . . Yep, it's Friday!

With my friend's help yesterday, we got the room emptied that I'd been trying to do all week . . . what a blessing that was! And a big bonus was that she was tall so could reach the top shelves! That meant I didn't need to keep going up & down on the step stool!! . . . it felt so good to get that job accomplished.

I made it to the gym this morning, and since we'd finished cleaning the room yesterday, I was able to get back to my sewing this morning. The first job I'm doing, tho, (a prom dress) is needing some hand work. I really don't like hand-sewing, but I'm getting it done. Then I have to re-sew the zipper & put a hook & I on a backstrap.

I tried to get some things done in one of the flower beds before Garrett got here, but just got started good when he came. He doesn't do too well outside cuz he's still pretty wobbly and keeps falling -- doesn't like that much cuz the ground is rather damp & muddy, so he took my finger and led me back inside

We had some powerful t-storms yesterday Barb -- maybe part of the same system that hit you.

Oh Barb! Forgot to mention your job! . . I personally think you're better off. If you count your time for anything at all, you were making very little, and could probably just tighten your belt a little, use the time spent at home for your usual cleaning/organizing (and I know you will ), and come out far ahead.

Yes, Barb, the $, travel, taxes and house, seemed out of proportion. But you get kudos for trying! Maybe something nearer will open up, meanwhile, enjoy your home! Leah, I love it when someone taller can reach stuff I can't! I wish then that I could do it, but then I think we shorties might have privileges that they don't. Like someone might shove me to the front if I can't see something through a crowd and you get a first-class view!

Good Morning!

This time difference thing is funny. I read about y'all starting on your afternoon and I am working on the morning.

Yesterday I spent the day with my friend working on the Heartline cirriculum. Last year we taught it to 20 children in Oregon. This year so far the people signing up for the YWAM schools have no children. So if there are no children we are thinking of taking a retreat trip to Oregon anyway for a week just to get away. It is so beautiful there.

I agree with everyone about this job Barb. Sounds like the L~rd may be closing the door. Maybe for this season in your life you need to just continue what is before you and wait on somthing more at a later time. The L~rd will supply all your needs - that's one of His promises.

I am the tall one that helps out the shorties. Just yesterday my friend who is short needed to change a light bulb in her ceiling fan/light. It was much easier for me to reach it on the chair. I like being taller too because I can hide behind everyone in group pictures. Just my smiling face shows up.

Well today is Friday!!
I have a lamb stew in the crockpot for Sabbath dinner tonight.

Ginny, I'm sorry I wasn't there for you last night. Sigh.

Barb, that must have been kind of scary with that dream. Ponds can be dangerous. I agree with everyone else about that job. Maybe you can find one closer to home?

Glad you got so much work done, Linda.

Joy, how tall are you? Ds1 was in China two years ago. He took a photo of being stuck in a crowd from his girlfriend's eye level and then from his. Remarkable difference. All she could see were the heads in front of her. He was head and shoulders above everyone and had a great view. But Chinese are short and he's 6'5" or so. I keep a step-stool in my kitchen for when no sons are around to help.

Barb, I've grown an inch in my adult years. Don't ask me why or how because I don't know. My driver's license says I'm 5'3 1/4". Now I'm 5" 4 1/4".

Ds1 is leaving this afternoon for two months in southern Europe. He's travelling with only one bag (and that bag is carry-on size)--as he did in China two years ago. Oh to be young again! (Frankly, I don't miss being young and all the pain that came with it.)

What a crackup. When I travel to Israel for just a month at a time even knowing I will buy clothes there I end up shlepping a huge suitcase, a medium big suitcase - even though that one is filled with goodies for everyone there (they can't get boxed mac and cheese or canned spaghetti and ravioli) and then coming back is filled with stuff I buy. And then I have my backpack and a "toy bag" filled with stuff to do on the long flight. All men need is a toothbrush and a change of clothes.
