........ Hey gals!

I heard a wonderful message this morning and really got a ton of encouragement out of it.

I wanted to share it. This is Part 1....

The Woman Who Fears the LORD

If you listened, what did you get out of the message?

In what areas of your life did this message challenge you?

    Did you learn something new?

    Do you have any thoughts?

Blessings, my dear sisters...

I couldn't get it to play. I will try again later. [:)]

HisCovenant -> RE: The Women Who Fears the LORD... (4/22/2008 1:07:38 PM)

Thanks!! My first comment is that I am disappointed that I have to wait for tomorrow's broadcast to hear more of his message. [;)]

I found it to be both encouraging and challenging. There are some things I tend to degrade myself over (like prefering home and not being active and visionary enough) and according to his interpretation, I am on the right track. I also found it convicting that my husband should realize that have his good at heart. I don't think I serve him enough and there are a few things I need to change. I'm a pretty good wife (if I do have to be the one to say so [8D],) but excellant? No where close! Loads to work on here!

This message also backed up what I have been studying in 1 Kings and 2 Chronicles: wisdom is there for the taking. It's already been spelled out by God. He gives it if we ask. And that we have a part to play in attaining it... I'm struck that those in Solomon's time had Godly wisdom crying for them and now we (lots of revelations later) don't pay any greater attention. I've also been struck by how with all the wisdom Solomon had that he didn't apply it to himself and didn't have a heart for God. It stops me in my tracks to think that I probably won't meet Solomon in heaven... and that I may be on the same path- faking Christianity instead of truly being changed.

....... Thanks for your interests, ladies!

I wanted to listen to Part 1 again before I posted. (I love these things because you can listen to them over and over! [sm=silly.gif])

I think he had a valid point about low self esteem.... it really did my heart good to hear this message coming from a man's lips.

.... and even though I am not married (I was previously)... following a guide explained from the Bible feels good to my heart.

I believe the Proverbs 31 verses are a guide for us... they are not meant to make us feel like we have failed or are failing as a Godly wife or woman.

We all have such a long way to go.... and perfection will never be reached here on this earth.

The important aspect is that we are striving to better ourselves with Christ's help.... when we do this... the effect is a greater love from our husbands shown through honor and praise.

Good points about Wisdom, Zippy.

As far as your last comment about faking Christianity goes.... only you will know if you are.... For me, Christianity is a label.... but I have a relationship with Christ. My relationship with Him looks much like my relationship with others here on earth... I have to work at it. I am learning better communication skills... I am learning how to be a better friend.... some days are excellent... and some days I could do better.

If your life looks similar to this idea.... than I highly doubt you are 'faking' it....

Jesus loves us soooo much! ;o)

Here's Part 2:

The Woman Who Fears the LORD Part 2

Blessings.

HisCovenant -> RE: The Women Who Fears the LORD... (4/23/2008 4:42:31 PM)

Listening to Part 2 now.

I know I'm not faking Christianity or relationship with Christ... but I realize that Solomon wasn't faking either... neither was Saul. It scares me that I may be wrong and not know it.

Thanks for sharing...I've downloaded the 3 that are up right now and I started listening to the first one...but interruptions from my DS dictated that I should wait until a little later today to listen...lol.

Good to see you Lisa! (I have to admit... I thought you were a guy by your handle! [8D] How did you choose it?)

HisCovenant -> RE: The Women Who Fears the LORD... (4/24/2008 9:25:01 AM)

I wanted to listen to Part 2 again, 100. My general reaction was the same as what I had for Part 1.

Rachel- don't you know the song "brown eyed girl?"

Actually my hubby chose it a long time ago while we were dating. He made me a login for his computer at his apartment and that was the user name he set it. I've used it ever since whenever I come across a site that won't let me use my standard user name (WildcatGirl) because an account exsists already or something.

I think the AL part is just one of those 'suggestions' you get when you choose a name thats already taken (We live in AL)...so when he couldn't set me up just as Browneyed he took the suggestion...at least that's what I think I remember...lol.
