You also need to take into account the story that Jesus gave concerning. Building bigger barns. He stated before the story to be on guard against all types of greed; a person's life doesn't consist in the abundants of his possesion.

I never said that life consists in our abundance or suggested that it is right to live this way.

Buying something nice based on your level of income isn't greed. Greed is a matter of the heart, it is where they are in life and what they find is important. If they put thier posessions first and thier faith and teaching second you are correct.

There is a thread about judging people, this is directly tied to this. Without knowing someone intimately, thier thoughts and thier deeds, what they do in God, you cannot make the assumption that because they bought something that is expensive to YOU they are greedy.

My point isn't one sided or open ended. The thread was based on what someone saw as a flaw or wrong in thier eyes without knowing the entire situation.

God Bless!!

Absolutely blown away by this discussion. I've seen people here attempt to discern the heart, greed or intention of those with wealth while failing to see what others' wealth is revealing about their own hearts. Everyone "knows" what they would and would not do with "riches" because they don't have it. So kudos to those who do. (I may not find the purse attractive....but how I spend my money is MY business).

Man looks on the outside, God is concerned with the heart.
