Ahhh, so iow it is a soft sole leather material of some sort then? Unlike those shoes from Payless that seem to have this stiff unbreathable material instead then?

Yeah, something like that. They each have different material and I have no idea how they make some more comfortable than others, but the the better brands should give a better fit, although everybody's foot is different. While I like payless for shoes I won't wear very often, I still like to invest in shoes that'll last a few years.

Yeah, I hear ya. While much cheaper, I have always noticed inferior quality with Payless shoes. Most notably unbreathable shoes and when walking the shoes "making noises" as well. Always worked well in a professional environment. But I digress.

Not that you want to wear women's shoes or anything, but maybe you secretly you wish you had as many fun options as women do and 10 rows of shoes at DSW to choose from rather than the 2 boring 'man' rows?

For good brands, I would suggest European shoes whenever possible, and you can find some decent Euro. brands here. It's not just a lot of hype. They really are wonderful and so stylish at the same time. We used to live in London and Europe is more dressy, so I always needed nicer looking shoes that could go the distance. I bought a fabulous pair of Spanish brand shoes [in Munich... go figure] and I cannot even tell you how many miles I've logged in them without a bit of pain or trouble. I still travel with them everywhere. I love those shoes!!

I have bought SAS shoes in the past and my favorites have been Rockport's as well. Right now I am allowed to wear sneakers at work, so I have foregone the dressy look.

LOL Michelle, and for a second there I thought that maybe you were trying to tell me something! Now, I like this quote the best!: Shoes are an emotional accessory; hurt your feet, hurt your feelings.

Oh, now I wouldn't do that! I like this: “Think Cinderella: A heeled shoe must fit perfectly. Faking it with the wrong size will get ugly.” AAAAAMEN!!! I had one pair of shoes where one slipped just a little bit and the walk into church is a looooong one. My legs hurt for days afterwards!
