I'm 18 and I have my life planned out...almost to a T. I don't even know if that's normal...and we all know that God's plan isin't always our plan but I'm just curious, does anyone else have their life planned out (I'm thinking of Carlton from fresh prince of bel air right now...with his big poster he had with his life's map on it[:D] )

Do I have my life planned out? Not even close. Right now I am in a Bible College, and when I graduate in four years I have no idea what craziness God will have next. All I can do is put one foot in front of the other and trust God to have prepared the path for me.

We plan, God laughs.

I think you need to print out your life plans as they stand, and hide them away for 10 years. Then go back and look at them, to see how closely you stuck to them. haha! I know you'd get a really good laugh going back to look at it! I am the same way, I planned everything out fairly specifically around the age of 18. Stuff definately hasn't followed that plan, because I'm much different in alot of ways than I was at 18. In reality, that wasn't really all that long ago, but things are definately much much different.

PrincessButtercup -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (4/28/2008 11:40:35 AM)

I'm 19, and my life is far from planned out. Just recently I had no idea where I was going to be or what I was going to be doing the following month. With school options and possilities of relocation, I had no clue what was going to happen. But thankfully, these things have settled and now I have at least a short term plan that I can rely on.

I know what I would like to happen in my future, and I'm working towards those things. But to say that my life is planned out? Nu-uh.

I've made some plans in the past, but God enjoys changing them up on me.

sunshine4God -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (4/28/2008 1:23:47 PM)

nope,I'll just do whatever the Lord calls me to do.

ChiefWannahakaloogie -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (4/28/2008 3:42:11 PM)

i have an idea of what i want, but really i'm just floating by doing what comes as it comes.

DreadPirateRandy -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (4/28/2008 5:15:01 PM)

Matthew 6:25-26 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

Matthew 6:33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

For it is these reasons of why I don't worry about life.

My plan is to marry the beautiful love of my life, become a youth pastor, and live day-by-day as He sees fit. It is His responsibility to carve the pathway to my future as it is mine to walk in it, whatever His plans may be.

Do I have my life planned out? No, I probably have less of my life planned out then God would prefer me to have...lol...oh well, I'll try to get going in the fiddling world, teaching music, then perhaps teaching Bible or being a missionary, or both? I dunno...I'm thinking about Bible school online or something like that...along with part time going to some sort of college for music? And then working full time...ya know, I don't even have next week planned out yet. My life? Not even close...[:D]

fluffmonkey -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (4/29/2008 12:48:59 AM)

No I do not have my life planned out, and I have learned any plans that I make hardly ever go accordingly... those plans always get changed... so I do not make plans but Live for God and Gods will
I am one that goes what ever comes my way..

This is what I was thinking and couldn't have put it better. By now I should have been graduated and married for almost a year and a half, and maybe a few kiddos..... But here I am going back to school, and not married, and not seeing anyone. Things are going too well for me right now. I'm waiting to see when my plans are going to be jumbled....

creatief -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (4/29/2008 2:20:49 PM)

I have my life planned out too.

But I know that it is not true because it is impossible. It is even impossible if you only have one month to live left. You depend on so many people in our high specialized societies and economies. You will is not the only thing that matters in the western world today.

For now I have a plan to finish my studying. After this I want to work in town-planning. I want to find a wife. I want to buy a house. I want to have 3-5 children. After that I will have to buy a new house ;)

This is the way I have planned my life. I know that I can realize some parts of it now. But I do not know if I still will be able to do this in future. One big inflation and my money loses its value. It is important to have loose plans which can be changed very quickly.

But I am sure that my life will be something I will enjoy. Of course my life is not going to be like my plan. Like John 15, 1-5 says:

Jesus is the vine, the holy father is the vinedresser. The vinedresser is going to prunes the fruit to make it bear more fruit. As long as I stay in Jesus, God will prune me. But this pruning only god can understand. When I look back in my life I can understand why he took away my father. He would have been a bad influence on me. So every "bad" thing that is going to happen to my plans will be in gods will. The problem is that you just can understand this later.

Ok, in this way I have my life planned out :)

Konstantinos -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (4/29/2008 4:15:37 PM)

kind of. im in 2nd year of computer engineering and informatics, and im bored of it even if i liked it since i was like 5 years old. im guessing thats what i can get a good job from with bunch of moneys. i want a wife. i want bunch of kids, mostly boys. good jobs for that career are in the US... i guess i dont really have a definite plan...

fluffmonkey -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (4/30/2008 10:19:57 AM)

I think we all have things we desire to happen in life...and we plan for them to a degree but we leave it up to God and His will for us... if they are meant to happen or not.

I plan to marry my fiance' and I plan to find a house and eventually we do want to have kids. All this will only happen on Gods timing though because His timing is the right timing.

_MavericK_ -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (4/30/2008 2:02:10 PM)

I plan to let God tell me where to go so I don't have to worry about it. So far, He hasn't disappointed me.[&:]

Cc20 -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (5/1/2008 12:07:34 AM)

hehe Planning never goes well with me, especially for the future[;)] right now my life's just uncertain in my own hands.
I'm taking a computer programming course, which I would think kinda concretes my life career wise, but then again only God knows! but I really wanna job in computers, even if it's just an office job awnsering millions of emails everyday..hahahaha!
if i could plan my life then it would be like this:
finish my course
find a good job
find a church in my community
save money
visit my bf in Turkey...
see I can't plan beyond that![:)]
God does my planning, so i haven't much of a choice.

fluffmonkey -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (5/1/2008 10:54:35 AM)

I can some times be indecisive, so its great the Lord isnt like that and will guide and direct me lol

_MavericK_ -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (5/6/2008 2:03:00 PM)

I thought I was planned out. I worked five years to go to a school in Virginia. I didn't get in after all that.[:'(] The good news is, the school i DID get into is absolutely working out perfectly.

Anamchara -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (5/28/2008 1:25:51 AM)

When I was a teenager I think I thought I had my life planned out. Now I look back, and I think the only thing that "planned" out was getting through nursing school. I am not living in the state that I thought I would, I am not married, I dont have kids, I have a different dog, I attend a differnt church, I look different, I dont have the car I thought I would :) Hmm, very little went as I have planned. I no longer try to plan my life really, I just go with the flow. I am not sure what tomorrow or even later today will bring me.

HellHathNoFuryAtAll -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (5/28/2008 10:05:44 AM)

I'm 25 and I still haven't the slightest clue what I'm doing:) I hope to start Liberty U online this fall and work on a Bach. in Science and Religion. I was in the ARMY, engaged, and didn't think I'd ever be back in this place (living alone). Plans without God involved often fall through. IE: My ex left me and I left the ARMY. I have just recently been saved and I have no idea what God's plans are for me. I have lived a VERY selfish life and taken a lot of people for granted.
I think now, I have to learn to crawl all over again. I know that God has a plan for me and I'm learning to be patient in God's perfect timing. I don't make plans that much anymore. We have no idea what tomorrow will bring.

God Bless You All

AnnaLDavis -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (5/29/2008 7:13:13 PM)

As a teen I planned to go to college, then med school, work on my career throughout my 20s, marry by age 28, and have kids in my early 30s. But God had a different plan for me and thankfully I listened to Him! My life is so fulfilling and blessed, far exceeding what I had dreamed for myself as a teen.

I thought I had my life planned out. Now it's all changing. It's good though.

As a young person, you just try something and if it doesn't work out you just trying something else. Freeeeeeeedom. One of the good things about being in your twenties.

This verse is true and relevant, but I find that the people who at the very least have an idea what they want to do are the ones who worry the least. People who are "trying to find themselves" or whatnot are generally the least content. I think the best thing we can do is to not look too far ahead, but at least have a vision for what we would like to see happen 5 or 10 years down the road. If your goal is X, then what are you doing today to work towards that goal? At the very least, know what you are working for.

BethyHerself -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (6/10/2008 10:35:03 AM)

I'm 21 and I've kinda taken life a year at a time. God won't let me plan far enough ahead for anything, so I just don't worry about it. If He wanted me to be planning my life all out He'd have given me the resources to do it, as is I don't have a steady job despite dozens of applications and reference letters, and I have no idea how I scrape up enough money to have a laptop, cellphone, voice lessons and gas.

I was planning to be married when I was eighteen. :-) That was a crock!

I don't believe planning is wrong, but I do think people blow it out of proportion. It's okay to want to do something, but you have to be okay with it falling apart just because God does what He wants. Most of the big plans I've made it seems like He's knocked to pieces because I went ahead of Him and said "I want this" or "I'm going to have/do this." Be careful, O foolish pride.. He's not fond of you..
