Hi Ladies - I'm wondering what types of fashion styles you think are attractive in your ideal mate? No right ot wrong answer, but just guaging what are common preferences amongst the women.

[:D]

I love when my husband wears fashion jeans (not just plain blue jeans...but different fades in them) untucked, button-up dress shirt, with a jacket and dress shoes.
of course he does wear plain blue jeans and t-shirts most of the time and plenty of sweats and gym shorts as he is a football coach...but when he dresses up....I LOVE IT!!

Jenny-Fair -> RE: What Types of Clothing/Fashion Styles Do You Like in Men (4/29/2008 2:16:13 PM)

It depends on the guy. I prefer that they wear something that fits them both physically and personality-wise.

I worked with a guy that I think is adorable. He wears a uniform to work every single day. These are not the kind of uniforms that make a girls heart go pitty-pat, but I thought he looked nice..until he came in on a day off wearing jeans and a flannel shirt[sm=icon_smile_blush.gif]

But there are guys that would look like they were a fish out of water in the same clothes.

So my moral is: Wear what suits you.

something that is clean and fits well. But then again, it is so nice when a guy dresses up.

I cannot stand to see guys in jeans and tee shirts unless they are working in the yard.

Call me weird, but I prefer to see guys in khakis and golf shirts.

No man ever looked bad in a tux[:D]

blue_orchid -> RE: What Types of Clothing/Fashion Styles Do You Like in Men (4/30/2008 2:38:23 AM)

nothing beats jeans and a t-shirt. or shorts.

Mandicoot -> RE: What Types of Clothing/Fashion Styles Do You Like in Men (4/30/2008 3:03:22 AM)

I loves me some jeans and a t-shirt.

3tulips -> RE: What Types of Clothing/Fashion Styles Do You Like in Men (4/30/2008 7:39:05 PM)

Baggy khaki shorts.

Well my guy looks great in everything, but depending on the season, somethings I really like on him are: for warm weather any kind of shorts that are neat and a polo style shirt. for cool weather turtle neck and sweaters with nice jean or khaki's. The deeper colors look great on him. He has a blue suit that he wears for special occasions that looks really good.

I like to see men in well fitting, fairly classic clothes. I love a well-fitting suit, but I also like jeans that fit (I don't care for the really skinny jeans or the baggy ones, somewhere in the middle is nice) with a crisp white shirt. I personally don't like tees with cheesy messages.

The thing that I notice with some men is that they give up on how they look - like they'll think -- "I look like a geek" - then they don't try different hairstyles or clothes when these things can give them a different look without them having to spend hours getting dressed. Plus, there are little details (like your socks should match the color of your suit) that can help any guy look really good.

I love my husband's style - he wears baggy jeans (but a belt to keep them up!) and an untucked button down shirt (long or short sleeved depending on the weather.) He still keeps up with the styles, but doesn't dress younger than he is.

His work clothes are very nice - dress pants, a button down long sleeved shirt and a tie. He is always overdressed compared to the other people he works with, but he gets so many compliments on his clothes.

Senior-citizen-couple here:
I love it when a man simply knows what is appropriate to wear wherever he is going. That's the main thing, really.

There is a place for jeans and a t-shirt.
There is a place for khakis.
There is a place for dockers and a turtle neck.
There is a place for dress slacks and a dress shirt.
There is a place for a suit and tie (or deliberate lack thereof).
There is a place for a tux, but a tux must be worn with inborn elegance and/or quiet, subtle humor.

And any of these in the "wrong" place either say of the man that
* he doesn't care
or
* he is his own man who does not mind standing out in a crowd, because he can take it and run with it without stumbling.

Just don't wear dirty clothes.

Don't show cleaveage.

Don't wear your clothes too small.

Wear shoes that are appropriate for the clothing.

Comb your hair.

For short hair, keep the nape of your neck trimmed.

Unless you are a rabbi, trim your facial hair.

Don't assume that all women enjoy kissing a face with either facial hair or bristles. If it tickles, that is not necessarily a sign that she likes it.

My man never has to worry about that one. If he did, he wouldn't have me!

My man doesn't concern himself with fashion styles. But when he's dressed for work -- blue jeans, t-shirt, toolbelt, boots -- that's sexy! Seriously!

I knew he was the man for me, when upon discovering a leaky faucet at his then rented house, he whipped out his pliers (from his toolbelt) and immediately fixed the problem. I think my heart skipped a beat.

I really don't know. [&:] It depends on the guy. Some guys look best in a grungy look, while others look best dressed up.

Focusing -> RE: What Types of Clothing/Fashion Styles Do You Like in Men (5/12/2008 9:34:52 PM)

Depends on the guy and the situations.

But one thing covers it all: clean [:)]

cowgurl4christ -> RE: What Types of Clothing/Fashion Styles Do You Like in Men (6/7/2008 1:29:23 AM)

Generally speaking, I like the preppy look--a nice pair of jeans and a shirt with a collar or layered shirts. In the winter, sweaters and jackets with stand up collars are very attractive and clean-cut looking.
For a casual dress look, sports jackets with a clean t shirt underneath and jeans look simply jaw-dropping on guys!!

But it's like Covaan_Meshuga said, it depends on what's appropriate for where you're going.

car2ner -> RE: What Types of Clothing/Fashion Styles Do You Like in Men (6/7/2008 7:52:01 AM)

But never the idea that wearing two pairs of pants so that one pair can hang down below the rear. A crotch at the knees is ridiculous.

I intended the OTHER cleaveage![:D]

Covaan_Meshuga -> RE: What Types of Clothing/Fashion Styles Do You Like in Men (6/7/2008 8:53:34 PM)

I would like to just hang around some of those guys who have their pants hung down below their shorts but think they're so tough. I want to see one of them get in a fight. How are they going to hold those thangs up and fight at the same time. I will laugh my head off when they have to drop them to hit someone. And when they trip over their own pants, I'll laugh harder. And when they have to step completely out of the pants to fight, that'll really be a laugh!!

And in order to hold up their pants they throw their spine all out of whack by shifting their hips sideways. This style is a chiropractor's dream.

I once watched one of my students try to run across the street before the light changed. His hands were full of books, so he couldn't hold his pants up. By the time he was 3/4 of the way across the road, his pants were around his ankles and he had to fling his boxer-clad-self across the remaining 5 feet of asphalt and fall in a crumpled (and no doubt humiliated) heap on the sidewalk [:D]

I agree that the sagging pants is a ridiculous style. Especially sagging shorts, because then the boys look like they're wearing capris [8|]
