DOER - Your name reminds of the insurance commercial where the artist has his studio saved by his insurance agent and he asks who is Steve the Doer?

it come from the verse in james (which is also my first name)

Jas 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
Jas 1:23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
Jas 1:24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

I know this is a loaded question, but I am trying to understand more and learn from my previous experiences.

No, guys however don't l like women who act like arrogant jerks.

I don't think I am an arrogenat jerk by any means but I think if someone is insecure about themselves I may come across as being somewhat ____ (don't know the right word) I am just opinionated and I am not usually afraid to express my views, feelings, etc. But I know it has gotten me in trouble in the past when I have come across as too dominate over a male figure. Trust me I have definitely grown up a lot since those days. I now know what the word tact and discretion mean now. Eventually I want to be with someone who doesn't mind talking and can hold their own in a conversation and not feel threatened by a woman who can and does express herself. I don't want to argue, but I do love a good debate of sorts. Having input from someone else is how we all learn and grow...I learn so much from digging into what someone brought up as a point, that I may have agreed with or not, which makes me grow no matter what.....

:)

Absolutely not (or at least not in my case). I want a girl who knows her mind and isn't afraid to express it (with discretion and tact, of course!). If she feels like she has to be a 'doormat' to win my heart, I don't want her. I want her to be her Christlike self and display the Christian femininity that God created her with. A guy wants a companion, not a doormat.

Karyyk -> RE: Are guys threatened by intelligent and strong minded women? (6/8/2008 3:27:35 AM)

I'm not a fan. I'm *NOT* saying that I expect a woman to be quiet, meek and subservient, but loud, obnoxious and argumentative isn't exactly my idea of an ideal woman either. If you want to express your views, that's great, but the minute anyone, male or female, starts shoving theirs down my throat and being pompous about it (and belittling me in the process), honestly, I don't want to be around that at all. I'll look for my fellowship, companionship, etc. elsewhere.

That is just it...I love to talk and have debates of sorts...not that I think my opinion or thoughts are any better just different. It usually raises interesting questions in my own mind that makes me go and investigate and learn. And I want someone who is not afraid to hold a conversation or open up a little and put their feelings out there. You don't have to be ooshy gooshy, but have some feelings and communicate with me.......I need COMMUNICATION........not silence and suffering. As a wife I tried so hard to help carry the burden and loads and to be partners, but I lived with someone who chose not to share at all and eventually shut me out entirely. I got my final divorce papers today! I can't help that or change that....but I will try my best not to make that same mistake again.

And by the way..thanks for all the feedback......
